These pictures were taken at a private event (possibly the New York Toy Fair secret room for retailers?) and the guy who leaked them used AI to remove the watermarks so he won't get in trouble. For example you can still see CONFIDENTIAL on this box >>11724771
The question is how did these leak to begin with? Probably intentional

My brickopinions did a 20 minute video of Mega Bloks Dragons, who knew this outsold Lego for a few years and prompted Lego to create Ninjago? Kind of had a similar fate like Bionicle.

several wasted slots:
--Soccer Guy - they are doing a whole theme for soccer, is this uniform even a real team? I don't know soccer. if it IS a real team, they gave him a yellow head instead of fleshie
--Chef Girl - all pieces re-used, hair piece, there's already apron torsos, and the "new" apron torso has designer signature on it, completely unusable for MOCs. the chocolate dragon doesn't have eyes, not even candy dots. it's a big poop in the shape of a dragon
--I understand the Ninja Guy is some kind of Ninjago anniversary tribute, like the Bionicle, but they ARE making Ninjago sets, and NOT Bionicle. there was no need to put the Ninjago guy in this CMF. (at least it's a new hair piece?)
so there's at least 3 of them that should have been "better" choices. 3/12= 25%
positives, so I don't sound too bitter:
-Robo-Dinosaur - clever NPU re-use of dinohead
-Unicorn Girl - clever NPU re-use of Wonder Woman hairpiece
-Monster Hunter Girl - epic gunsword. 10/10
-obviously, minifig version of Bionicle Guy is going to be awesome. (Is Lego stuck now, doing the rest of them later?)

>I’m just sick of the obvious marketing
it's painfully obvious that the "leeeeeaaakkkkss" are done in a pattern. intentionally, all across the Internet, not just here. re-posting the pics here is not going to alter anything, in any significant way.
it's just easier to look at a picture, on a freaking IMAGE POSTING BOARD to discuss the thing. when somebody mentions a gun-sword, ain't nobody got time to search around to find wherever else the picture is. that's ridiculous.
>>
>>11724938
Would Lego really waste resources marketing here, a space full of cretins who don’t even like nulego? Is it not far more expected that some autist is posting leaks either because of oppositional defiant disorder or because it makes them feel like they’re in the know or something? Or they post just because they’re guaranteed a reaction (even if it’s just “rope yourself”)? I seriously doubt 4chan (which can’t attract any advertisers outside of, like, dick pill and hentai figure companies) is on the squeaky-clean Lego’s radar, especially when the multicultural yuppie childfree demographic is so thick on, say, Reddit.

fun story:
This Ronaldo soccer guy, during a press conference, had a Coca-Cola bottle shoved in front of him. they were sponsoring the event and wanted their product on screen.
Ronaldo is a famously-healthy-eating-habits advocate. he shoves the bottle aside and says something like "Soda sucks! Drink WATER instead!" and boom. Coca-Cola stock drops, the company looses, real-number, 4 BILLION DOLLARS. granted, Coca-Cola makes like, 240 billion a year, but still... that's 4 billion dollars they lost.
I don't even know which set he comes in, but if I worked for Lego I'd make sure there was a water bottle free GWP for his set lol!
>>
>>11724957
lol so Lego is maintaining a years-long grudge with 4chan by posting leaks?
>>11724959
Is there any indication the leak posting is coming from some Lego guerrilla marketer? Note that “isn’t it weird that Lego news is being posted in the Lego general?” does not constitute proof.
>>
>>
>>11724963
Yeah, let’s back off the schizo- and slopposting and get back to the true spirit of the thread.
I just ordered the LEGO® The Legend of Zelda™ Ocarina of Time™ — The Final Battle to claim my Mini Pokémon Center insider reward.
But the Zelda™ kit is a pre-order and ships on March 1st at the earliest. Is there a chance that, even though I’ve redeemed the insider reward code and placed the order, it somehow sells out before my order ships?
>>
>>
>>11724965
The only website I've seen proof Lego astroturfs is Reddit. But all of Reddit is astroturfed so lol. Mods kept taking down people with megablokd and other off brands in the background of pictures and when asked in some sort of sticky for talking to mods they just admitted lego issues takedown notices if they see offbrands in reddit posts. Which means people are hired to find that shit. So I can only imagine what other asinine bullshit they do.
And Goodsmilecompany funded 4chan for a time and we have had a barely alive nendoroid general that eventually died but only consisted of someone maintaining news. Autist hanging on to 4chan or shill you decide

I wonder if the people working in the factory can just grab a mold and pick a color and stamp out any piece they want.
maybe they have to wait until they are using the right mold, and sneak in a couple of prints using a new color, or maybe if they are working with a particular color, they can sneak over a different mold real-quick...

I just hate that Peter is being cucked by him with his own girlfriend who died in front of him 90% of the time. It's like a weird cuckolding fantasy that Marvel and Sony keep putting onto Gwen.
The last time that happened with her was from Norman.
Someone on KF made a really good take on the Miles/Gwen pairing:
"I fucking hate the romantic overtones they're throwing out between Miles and Gwen. Even now, literally everything Miles has both in-universe and from a meta perspective is just shit he ganked from Peter. His title, his spider-powers, his setting, his villains, his regular joe backstory, his quippy nature, his superhero philosophy, and now his fucking girlfriend? It just feels shallow at this point. The only thing unique to Miles even in his own movies is his race, his electric zappy powers and invisibility."

>I talk about american football.
Lego did one American Football guy, but forgot to include the actual football. d'oh!
I'm going to guess it's due to Lego being a European company, and not really having an idea of how popular the NFL is. it should be obvious, based only on the one Superbowl being the yearly expensive hype-fest, why would Lego not want a piece of that?
Lego did those F1 sets with dozens of similar cars, but the NFL has 32 teams (that's a lot!) and minimal 11 offensive players vs 11 defensive players. 22 minifigs? Lego would clearly do single player "Editions" sets instead of some kind of play-feature kick a field goal sets.
but Football doesn't have, even a few, highly-elevated iconic spokesperson players. the only one who comes close is Mr. Taylor Swift, and he's only iconic because he's engaged to Taylor freaking Swift. football fans will yell at that comment and shout a bunch of names, maybe they'd be right. but I get the feeling that's true for most sports.

you'll be tempted to stack all the bricks for maximum-box-filling geometry. when you're done, sprinkle in the tiny bits and shake it to fill up the gaps.
once I got a whole handful of little blue gems just squeezed in between the cup I filled (back when they were plastic cups instead of cardboard boxes)

Some sellers are like that, adding in little bonus bits though in my experience they usually note them as such. To many sellers it's more of a hobby than a business; this one lady would wrap literally every part lot in tissue paper and include a cutesy message.

Does anyone know why older Ninjago stuff exploded in Price in the last 2 years? The current used prices for some sets are what I would have been paying for them new in late 23/early 24. I got most of what I wanted then, but there were 3 or 4 sets I didn't and I can't imagine paying the prices now.

You can just tell Lego is one of those companies where on the surface “we’re all a family here!” type of bullshit and “team building” happens all the time. But you just know it’s cut throat and backstabbing constantly and everyone hates each other.

>But you just know it’s cut throat and backstabbing constantly and everyone hates each other
it's painfully obvious that Lego has different design teams, working across different themes, and there is no consistency to any kind of standards between them.
why does the $300 Ninjago set have 24 minifigs, and the $400 Enterprise-D have only 8 minifigs? you KNOW they could have put more than 8 minifigs in Jack Sparrow's Spaceship. it's $380! because the Jack Sparrow/Enterprise team thinks it's okay to use 8 figures, while the Ninjago team pushes to include as many as they can.
probably Friends has a separate team, Speed Champions. Creators with thing-but-Lego sets probably its own team of designers...
maaaaybe the CMF team is the only one that goes from room to room asking what everyone is working on, so they can steal a new piece for a re-color in a CMF figure?

Might have something to do with greed, but it also might simply be due to licensing stipulations. We already know that if you buy a licensed set and are missing a piece or a minifigure part there are WAY more hoops to jump through to get it replaced than if you buy a set of one of Lego's own themes. Almost every licensed theme is stingy as fuck on the minifigures. Then again, Ninjago is kind of Lego's darling when it comes to their own original themes, so they may just be more generous. They still do put out $10 sets with three minifigures almost every wave with Ninjago.

My guess is probably there are occasionally times where the IP doesn't own the rights for each actor without paying additional royalties. That use of an actor might eat into the budget. The Black Pearl absolutely should have had Pintel and Ragetti though even if it made it $400, because that'd complete the main crew.

Star Wars is proof that, at least Star Wars, would rather have 3 minifigs in each of two $80 sets, rather than put 6 minifigs in one $80 set. why put 6 figures in a single set?! they can easily sell two sets with that amount of figures! (most droids don't count... but they always try to make them count lol)
I always thought each and every Star Wars set should have 1 extra Stormtrooper and 1 extra Rebel. b-but eventually the kid will have like... 30+ Stormtroopers! yeah, that's the point.
>>
>>11724760
You will. Bionicle is not as popular as castle, but even if it was, it doesn't lend itself well to army building. The Wolpack CMF last year wasn't just being bought up by scalpers, it was also being bought up by castle fans wanting to have lots of those parts. Also unlike caslte the Bionicle IP is stagnant and not growing new fans regularly. I don't think the Tahu figure is even a good investment based on that alone. Bionicle fans will buy one Tahu each, scalpers might buy a few for future resale but who would they be reselling to? Unless Lego brings back Bionical (very unlikely) I don't see there being a huge influx of new Bionical fans after this CMF wave retires.

Mousecuck refers to those who bend over and take the premium prices of Disney branded products from a company that hates them, particularly as it relates to Star Wars, where they are directly funding the ongoing molestation of Star Wars' corpse and LEGO's overall hyper reliance on license.

6198 Stingray Stormer
I love the Stingrays. They’re are my favorite faction. I got the tiny set as a kid and I’ve been so into that armor and helmet ever since. But I also love fantasy era castle and the dnd set hits very nicely. Don’t really care for the license but no big deal I can swap fleshies out and use the build. I also scheme about turning the ruined wall and tower into a fully rebuilt one. So. Here I sit

I'm not an IPfag in general so consider me biased but the stingrays really are one of the coolest aesthetics of any faction in the 90s. I'm mostly a spacefag with only a few aquazone sets but still got all rays sets because they just look so cool. Inhave to imagine the dnd set is going to be decently available for some time.

What?
>>
>>11726636
The designs of their vehicles and color schemes and parts usage was practically just the UFO space theme, so it isn't really wild that someone interested in the space stuff of that era would also like the rays stuff. I just liked the Aquanauts and Aqua sharks more. Their colorschemes and parts seemed more original and unique, because the rays were a bit TOO space-derivative to me.
>>
>>11726636
I always felt so cool as a kid for having big specialized pieces like the printed UFO quarter domes and using them in my own builds. IDK why they stopped making those. It's a QoL thing for kids too so they don't have to waste time when building. Same thing with baseplates, especially the ones that are made to look like hills or canyons. It gets kids to fun part faster and keeps them from burning out when building.

They still make the smaller saucer pieces, but not the big ones like that. I imagine it probably costs more to produce large parts. There are a number of large parts they've pretty much phased out over the years or just rarely use much anymore, like those saucer pieces, the terrained baseplates you mentioned, BURPs, LURPs, and other larger wall elements, among other things are pretty rare in sets. Hell, I am still surprised they even use the really big ship elements in pirate ships and stuff.
Its clear that modern Lego has largely shifted to the "building experience" as opposed to building a toy to play with, which is why they've phased so many large elements out to bloat piece counts so the build takes longer. You mostly really only find large element pieces in those 4+ sets and stuff meant for really young kids.

I had this same set as a kid, and like >>11724885 said Dragons peaked a few years before fantasy era lego took off. I actually like Dragons much better as a fantasy theme more than most of the lego stuff until fantasy came around as Mega Bloks wasn't afraid to actually have a grittier theme where you just knew those knock-off minifigs were killing the shit out of each other all the time, unlike lego trying to make everything so tame.
That said, you could absolutely tell the quality difference with Mega Bloks. That Sorcerers Lair set I had was so inconsistent in the molds the bricks barely stuck together and would fall apart if you looked at them wrong, and the minifigs hands cracked and broke often. The dragons were really well done though and the bigger set pieces like those light-up stones were neat, and they were a lot cheaper.

Anyone else has become picky on what sets they buy? Like you can say whatever you want about leaks but they help me save lots of money, I wait to see pics of sets and decide which ones I buy and which I don't because, Frankly, I'm getting less space with how many sets I gotta display and they are getting very expensive. Also themes arent that epic now like they used too.
>>
>>
>>11726788

Well to be fair it's just an old polybag lol
The good news is that I also ordered an actual set that's not running late!
It's a sealed Legacy Destiny's Bounty and I'm super excited for it to get here
I always wanted the bounty when I was little but somehow I never got it... until now!(bigger and better too)
I also have been ordering some pieces for a MOC I wanna build but I'm buying them in waves so it's gonna take a while before I actually start it...
TLDR: the mailman and I will be meeting alot these next few weeks :)
>>
>>11726850
Tho I'm a little worried.
The tracking said the package arrived in the country but it was "damaged" which is ominous...
But it's plastic pieces inside bags inside a box inside a bag wrapped in bubblewrapper inside a bigger box so I want to believe it's nothing lol
>>
>>11726654
>>11726661
The terrain baseplates were made with vacuum-moulding, which no other Lego parts use, so they were likely phased out due to it not being worth the cost to maintain separate production equipment just for them. Large specialized pieces have limited uses so they tend to be the first things to be cut, while something like basic 1×2 or 2×6 bricks can be used for just about any set. And while I don't think it affected Lego's decisions, large specialized parts have always been somewhat controversial among Lego fans, who often complain about "juniorization" of sets, i.e. reliance on big specialized pieces instead of building things out of standard bricks.

I was always picky after my dark age have ended, buying 1-2 sets every year.
After like 7y of this I dont have "space" to display everything. I also dont want to, because I prefer to display my mocs/wips that im currently working on.
I stick to medieval/pirates, despaite being mianly aquazone and adventurers fag.
Lego became to tm and I hate that they need to rely on some awful brands to sell they products. I would probably buy more if they did more geniune and good orginal lines or they would nostalgiabait me with better throwbacks.

Hey guys I need some advice.
I’m making a medieval village and it’s coming along pretty nice. However it’s getting to the point where I need to arm the levies.
Should I get a bunch of halberds, billhooks, or simple spears? We have crossbows with pavise shields, some heavy cavalry, swordsmen, etc. but for the “rank and file” peasant who was just called up…what do I give them?
