>>11807459 I didn't even know it existed. Or maybe I did read about it in Toyfair mag back in the day and forgot it existed. And on my first search, I find an eBay listing for two other variants I forgot/didn't know about. Were there any others?
>>11807508 Those look rad. If the Green one were a little more vibrant it could look like a Predator vision variant. I'm surprised they didn't do an all black version, maybe if the line had done better.
>I didn't even know it existed. It's says on the box of the top one it's a Japan limited edition version, so these must have been specifically for that market. They do love their clear variants. I wish more Sofubi figures of these franchises would come out. Could you imagine a Movie Monster Series style Xenomorph and Predator? They'd be wicked.
>>11807520 >Just who is this handsome devil That is the best T2 Arnie likeness I have ever seen, is it bootlegged off the Hot Toys or does the random company have some savant sculptor in their basement?
>>11807912 You can’t just say the largest producer of toys for these franchises is off topic. It’d be like saying Hasbro discussion is off topic in the Star Wars or Marvel generals.
>>11807631 >It's says on the box of the top one it's a Japan limited edition version, so these must have been specifically for that market. From the few sources that mention them, it appears so. Crazy that they are barely documented. Most wikis don't mention them, and Figure Realm doesn't list them. What I have been able to find out has just been from a couple of YouTube videos and some eBay listings. If the anon that bought one hadn't mentioned it, I'd probably never find out.
>>11808616 I kinda knew there was a green variant so I was just stoked to get it but I didn't realize how rare they were until now wtf. Looking around, the clear brown does seem to be the rarest or most sought after among the three variants.
>>11808628 How much did you pay for the green one? Clear Brown does seem the most sought after, which is understandable because it looks awesome. Like a regular Resurrection Warrior that has just molted. >>11808624 Don't reply to him. Delete your post and don't let the troll bait you.
>>11808660 Ok, I am really jealous now. That was an amazing score. Post pics when you get him. We'll probably be on the next thread by then since the schizo can't stop spamming.
>>11808495 Whoever did the sculpting on this figure for Kenner did some truly gorgeous work. The shark motif on the head is great while also bringing in design elements of the Warrior and Queen heads. I also really like the angular details on the ribcage.
It's a shame because NECA's licenses so coherently adhere to a kind of genre that you could probably get away with a thread just covering 80s action sci fi horror franchises and have stuff from other companies in it. Maybe someday we will evolve as a species enough.
>>11808495 Normally I don't like battle-damage figures, but even as a kid I thought it was cool to see the internals of the Xeno. I kinda wish they'd gone with the pose for the main Warrior Alien.
>>11809828 >such a great toy gimmick I was always amazed that almost every single Kenner Aliens figure from the '93 line had at least two gimmicks per figure, with the exceptions being the AVP two-pack (although that has a screen accurate translucent dome), and the Scorpion Alien only having the burst apart gimmick, all the others have extra stuff going on, Snake alien had the bendy wire body and snapping jaw, Gorilla had water blasting head and grabby arms, Flying Queen had the flapping wings and snapping foot. All great stuff, and none of it interfered with regular play. I knew I was getting older though when I realised I couldn't press the Flying Queen's wing flap button down all the way without crushing my thumb in between the wings.
>>11809828 One of the live action transformers movies (Revenge of the Fallen maybe?) had a gimmick called Mech Alive when you moved the parts around you could see gears and shit turning around inside. Very cool.
>>11809962 Nobody is using that loser thread so it has to chimp out and ruin things in the actual active ones. It monitors TMNT and any other Neca adjacent generals to spam and troll.
>>11811008 >>11811018 Why do you people do this shit? I don't give a fuck about one company over another. I'm just pointing out what I see. You must live some royally sheltered lives to complain so intensely about toys.
>>11811100 autism, just ignore it. I wonder how many kids actually saw the RAPT films. for me I think there was just so much advertising or ads on tv for that stuff, you didn't need to see them to be interested because the designs were so cool.
>>11811152 >I wonder how many kids actually saw the RAPT films. I can't remember when exactly I first saw all the films but I'd definitely seen T2, RoboCop, Aliens, and most importantly to me Predator before I was 6, because I remember my parents buying me the figures while they were still at retail and I had seen those films by that point. My parents did a great job of explaining that the films were all make-believe when I was super young, so I was never frightened, instead I became fascinated by trying to figure out how they did the things I saw on screen.
>>11811152 I saw all of the originals as they came out on VHS except Alien, which I didn't see until after I saw Aliens, which wouldn't have been until the late 80s. The first time we rented Terminator, the tape was damaged so we couldn't watch it until the following week. When we rented Predator, I somehow missed the opening minute which shows the Predator arriving from space, so the appearance of the alien creature was a surprise in what was seemingly a regular action movie with weird thermal camera scenes that didn't make sense until he appeared. No unique story for Robocop. I just fuckin loved it.
Now Alien/Aliens was a journey to discover. I was aware of the sequel's existence because of some interview with "the chick from Ghostbusters" that I saw on some daytime tv show when I was home sick one day in 86, and during the interview, they showed a clip from the movie, and of course it was part of the final showdown with the Queen. I never caught the name of the movie, but holy shit did that glorious beast stick in my memory. I remember seeing the VHS cover at the video store, but it was just some chick holding a little girl, so it never interested me. Fast forward a couple of years, and after watching a movie one night, i flick it over and there it is. That creature from the interview that stuck in my memory. And it's got the chick from Ghostbusters, but she's also carrying a little girl, just like that VHS cover at the video shop. And the name of the movie is Aliens. I have now pieced it all together. Rented it the next week, watched it, and figured out that it was a sequel, so the following week when I returned it I asked the owner if he had the original movie. Of course they did! Saw T2 and Alien 3 in the cinema. Also Robocop 3, but the less said about that, the better.
