Honestly I think the reviews were wrong and it's a decent entry if you liked 4. But you have to be paying attention to all the characters and everything because it's mostly obscure lore dumping.

Not even on simp shit, but Emma Roberts was the best actress in the entire scream franchise as Jill in 4. BUT Scream fans are all hiveminded sheep who shit on her in discussions cause of rumors of boomer ass Wes Craven on his death bed saying she was a brat to work with. Which, maybe she was. A lot of actors are absolute pieces of shit, but that should be excused if the results are good. the audience doesn't see behind the scenes.
When Jill is waiting under the bed, look at her body language. Does she seem scared? When she taps her finger repeatedly, doesn’t it seem like she waiting for something? For the first two acts she had to play the character in such a way where it’s not suspect at first, but when you rewatch it it’s clear the character is putting on an act. The reveal in scream 4 is the best in the series if you go in blind.

Also, Neve Campbell just got played hard by the jewish execs. They shut down her involvement for Scream 6 cause of her demands for more money. Then they needed her to save Scream 7 because they fired the Palestine supporter latinas. Neve Campbell got $5m for Scream 7. Well now Scream 7 has the best ever worldwide opening for a slasher, and second best domestic (Halloween 2018 is number one) at $97m. Bitch could have negotiated for way more.

Overall I'm gonna say it has some cool moments but overall is not good.

Also 6 > 5 > 2 > > 3 >1 >4(only one we didn't finish and fell asleep around the final girl runs around for 15 mins and Jason dies somehow bit so clearly not that gripping also part 5 gives enough context didn't really need to go back)

Idk I think copyright law is fucked. The rights of the entire franchise should go to the person in charge of the start or the studio he signed rights too I would think. And all sequels would go to whoever authorized that movies production. They probably didn't think the movies would do that well and didn't care to actually write documents. I know modern day this would never would have happened, paramount or whoever would have locked that shit down day 1
It's goofy because apparently the 13th Friday film can't even be called Friday the 13th so we're getting Jason or some shit instead. So much unnecessary walking around yellow tape for no reason.
