>Or just obey logic instead of emotions, pretty simple,
There was a TOS episode about why this doesn't work, Galileo Seven.
Spock and the guys are stuck on a shithole planet, so he tries to use logic to solve the situation. But he has no facts to go on, so his logic just gives nonsense. Like he makes a wild assumption about the society of the cavemen who live there based on the way their arrowheads remind him of something he saw once in a museum. Two men were killed because of his stupid orders, it was a huge fiasco.
>>
Are aliens of the federation fedora too, or just the humans?
Also, how do people deal with grief in trek? Dozens of redshirts died under Kirk, did their friends care at all or does Roddenberry assumed that in future people won't care about their dead friends?
>>
>>218299028
they were all going to die because those fucking retards insisted on wasting time on a burial just to spite Spock. the literal only reason they didn't was sheer luck.
>>
>>218299028
>this one time a thing was bad because he assumed a thing and bad thing happen

Your honor please, this man has lost his composure and is being ruled by his emotions.

is it fair that there is ban on genetic manipulation in the entire federation where hundreds of alien species coexist because of one human?
>>
>>218299083
In TOS they cared but they stopped caring by the 24th century, because those genes had been removed.
What, you thought they didn't do eugenics anymore?
>>
>>218299088
TOS was full of coincidences and happy accidents to save the day. It’s another reason the show isn’t as rewatchable as later series.
>>
>>218299421
TOS and TNG both.

Just insanely sexy interior design I love everything about it. The slanted ship walls with oval windows, the arches that help make it feel more organic. The carpet. And either intentional or not the interiors of the Enterprise-D and Voyager always seem to follow the 60 30 10 rule

i think he's talking about how >>218300034 is majority similar colors of structural or furniture here, then smaller majority of a differnt supporting color like the table and carpet, and finally some light splashes of the decorations/flowers.

i can't stand those retarded theories, i don't find anything of the coloring scheme here to be appealing, i think the setting is what is comfy about that room. The curved roof alone is amazingly comfy with the ceiling windows. The couches look rough and coarse/uncomfortable but still different enough to be enticing to try out. Carpet and tables are uninspired and bland but familiar enough to again hit that comfy vibe. i think the colors chosen are fucking awful aside from the dark red table.

It’s one of those things that redditors think they’re smart for knowing, and can schizophrenically be noticed in just about any frame or painting if you convince yourself it’s there.
But there is truth and merit to it. Although it’s manly just about having a dominant primary color, a nice secondary, and a sparing tertiary color. But yeah carpet Trek interiors tend to follow the rule to an extent

Simping for Vulcan women is extremely stupid. Every muscle in a Vulcan body is 3-5x stronger than human, including the vagina, meaning a Vulcan vaginal orgasm would be like sticking your penis in a vice. Serious injury is a real possibility.

Why didn't they ever make the Founders interact with or even acknowledge the Prophets? Seems like an obvious storyline there about godhood and what-not. Could've been a better way to conclude the Emissary storyline than
>Oh yeah, good job beating the Dominion and all. Sisko has to go tackle Dukat now.
>>
>>218301839
>>
>>218301839
Because the Dominion were actually conceived of by the writers while the wormhole aliens are just a holdover from plagiarizing the B5 pitch.

>>
>>218301862
Disgusting—nipples protruding. Very very disrespectful
>>
>>218301990
If you’ve already suffered through S1, then I say go ahead and commit to S2. It’s awful, mind you, but there’s something poetic about doubling down and the getting the slight reprieve from S3 which is also not good but has okay moments.
Without grading on a curve it’s all just steaming shit, but if we’re being relative here then Season 3 is okay compared to toughing out S1 and 2

This Thursday another all new episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy:

SFA S01E09 "300th Night" As the year comes to an end, Caleb must choose between the life he thought he wanted and the life he’s built for himself at Starfleet Academy. Meanwhile, Nahla breaks protocol in one final gambit to keep a promise to Caleb.

Nielsen ratings are next to worthless in the streaming era
The Nielsen group still tries to track streaming viewership (in largely the same way that they tracked linear viewership) but it has never really worked out.

On top of that these platforms don't care so much about viewership as they do the amount of subscriptions they support. So in this case if there are a lot of people who only subscribe to Paramount for Star Trek and are watching Academy, it's a success even if it's relative viewership is low. If those same people are neglecting Academy, it's a failure. Conversely if the only people watching it are also watching Survivor and The Neighborhood, and it's not actively attracting people to the platform, then it could be cancelled.

if it clears antitrust theyre going to get sued by walmart for devauling basic peeplus, making it little more than plutoplus.
ultimately i doubt it clears antitrust because it will leave only Starz as a competitor in premium cable. CNN could be problematic as well. probably just saying they dont plan to spinoff assets so the can make the concession after it gets blocked

>>218302514
they care a lot about viewership but they care more about not letting 3rd parties be able to track it and undercut their marketing and tax avoidance schemes.
theres no reason the broadcast rating methodology cant be used for streaming except the streams dont imbed the tracking frequency
