LOTR is a boomer franchise, and has been for a long while now. The only time it was cool in the mainstream was in the 2000s. Anyone that denys this is coping, plain and simple.
>>220461239 It's extra funny since one of the plotlines shows a hobbit being forced to be left behind after injuring his foot because they can't waste resources on someone who doesn't pull their weight. I guess it doesn't apply to downie hobbits for some reason
>>220461239 Why? Hobbit culture is one of the least survival-hostile societies in Middle-earth and values strong kinship networks and communal responsibility rather than strength and other martial virtues. A core Tolkien theme is that moral worth is independent of power or intellect, and he tends to use the Hobbits to exemplify this claim.
>>220461367 i remember the balrog attacking khazad dum, annatar corrupting celebrimbor, sauron being betrayed by adar in a flashback, the orcs attacking eregion and the silly confrontation between galadriel and sauron off the top of my head
>>220461457 It's a German ad for the show. Lord of the Rings translates to "der Herr der Ringe", Rings of Power to "die Ringe der Macht", that's where the "die" comes from
>>220461367 I remember Galadriel being the reason all of the shit happens because she was a cunt and didn't tell anyone that that dude was Sauron. I didn't see past that
>>220460190 Everytime I'm reminded this show exists but I've never seen an episode of it still & it never comes up in a single discussion I've had pertaining to LotR except for people to offhandedly shit on it I feel a little more at peace with the world
>>220461776 Does the lawd them rings site actually recap an episode of the show? Because that's the only thing I've opened & viewed multiple times pertaining to this
>>220461270 >amazon wasting budget on this dogshit instead of invincible and the goys I wonder how they are gonna handle RoP and the new popular Dragon show amazon is making. No one gives a shit about Rop but they wasted billions and they don't care about ratings
>>220462548 >NOOOO YOU CAN'T SHOOT SOMEONE WITH MULTIPLE ARROWS!! THATS CARTOONISH!! you chuddies didn't weep and scream when this happened to Boromir though
they supposedly fired their entire writing staff and hired new ones, so I'm cautiously optimistic. idk that's it's salvageable by even the best writers though.
>>220462021 >this applies way more to lord of the rings than anything else I don't think that's true, otherwise we would've seen spinoffs rolled out from rings of power en masse the same way we see with Star Trek & Star Wars. Since Rings of Power all we've had is... a one off cartoon? A gollum movie in the works? There just isn't enough interest in Tolkien fans to squeeze any real blood out from the stone, and thankfully I think RoP being as shitty as I gather it to be is a big contributor to that.
>>220463163 The Tolkien estate is trying to milk the IP ultra slowly, giving tiny drops to different studios. Amazon only has the rights to 13 pages. Warner Bros is currently trying to come up with ways to adapt every page of the LotR books they haven't adapted in the LotR films, so the Gollum film will adapt the one or two pages where Frodo learns about how they hunted and caught Gollum, and the Colbert film will adapt the chapters 4-6 of Fellowship, when the Hobbits just wander from cozy house to cozy house while encountering intermittent dangers.
>>220466994 Sounds like retarded fanfiction and not lotr at all. I thought this was supposed to be more faithful than the Hackson movies, what's the deal?
