Not seen a kevin smith movie in well over a decade now, think id probably struggle these days with the bits of this that dont have Matt damon and Affleck in them, but i always thought despite the cringe dollups he could write good dialog and blended the serious bits and the comedy well to tell the story.

I remember the concept actually of JaSBsb being quite funny for the time and having a great cast, the plot about them getting trolled on the internet and this plan to kick the ass of the trolls and stop their movie getting made, id forgot this was made in 2001.
Dogma was a piece of shit. The theological elements were poorly thought out fat kid bullshit. Without them, it was basically just a piece of shit Jay and Silent Bob movie, which this dumb fuck went ahead to write and film anyway. It's half-way between Smith's servicable comedies like Clerks and Mallrats and his shitty self-important dramas like Chasing Amy and Jersey Girl. It's college stoner bullshit that pretends it has something to say about religion, but is really just empty gen x platitudes that reduce spirituality to self-affirmation.
