Probably because the character is child coded but the actress was like 40 years old

the casting was pretty shit, connelly somehow got insanely bogged for this role only. a bit of shit cgi here and there.

The source material just isn't that good
It's basically "Astroboy, but it's a girl"
And Astroboy was basically "Pinocchio, but it's on the future"
There's nothing particularly special about Alita's story that makes it stand out

It just feels soulless. Like it's close to be something good but it never takes off.
Also, it feels like it is too long in the sense that you feel is already getting over but it keeps going. The final part of the guy getting killed and revived felt like this.
Maybe should've cut the plot earlier while expanding on other plot points.
