What pisses me off is that I know I could code 70% of psyker AI, by myself, in one evening. The remaining 30% are inconvenient amounts of play testing and stress testing to iron out some bugs, because programming AI can be a little tricky at times. Getting the actual decision making brain programmed is probably the easy part, assuming you know how to play the fucking game, and can teach the bot to estimate damage effectiveness by running cheap damage calcs.
And that's without official dev tools.
Unfortunately fagshart are too fucking incompetent to even play their own game, so this is basically impossible for them to manage.

Even Darktide was hit by it, they are the reason why hordes got so abysmally small as they are now, which has then caused the devs to try "balancing" the game by just spamming elites. (due to bigger stats they don't need to spawn as many elites comparitive to hordes)
A thing that has made the game and its balance infinetly worse with no end in sight.

They just think snipers largely don't fit for the game. Which isn't entirely wrong.
Even as a playstyle sniping just kinda sucks because there's always some pox walkers smacking you in the ass, also never forget that Darktide unironically SPAWNS enemies right behind you sometimes. And that is by design.
Another thing is that this game used to have a weapon customization/attachment to weapons. Evidenced by the weapon customization mod, which is more or less made from the left over "parts" within the code. AND you can add functional scopes and other sights onto guns with that mod.
However, many people who have used the mod, they often report that scopes just don't work well for gameplay because of the tunnel vision, which is bad because the amount of enemies the game throws at you is too much and you realistically you cannot relay on other players to keep yourself safe. Another problem 90% of the maps are very condensed and have very little large open areas, which makes scopes either over kill or just necessary at all and you're just fine with a holo-sight or even irons.
But it was entirely scrapped because either Fatshark itself or Tencent decided to be more jewish and ditched the system so they can sell you more cosmetics.
Also also, as a weapon type snipers aren't great darktide because the amount of mele enemies and other specials the game throws at you, having a gun which equips and holsters slowly very detrimental for you, especially if you need to be killing trapper that's running at you while you are meleeing a horde or some elites. You need it dead NOW, and not 3 business days later.

The helbore is supposed to use the bayonet to kill enemies that get into melee with you. The reason this doesn't work is because you're playing too high of a difficulty, sweaty. The game is balanced around malice, after all!

>Helldivers 2 is really rough to get into, 20 DLC's (warbonds) that cost a combined total of $210 and a horrific amount of grinding to actually use the stuff you paid for. It's not awful on PC since there's a CE table that lets you spawn premium currency so you can unlock the warbonds for free and Medals so that you can progress through the warbonds to unlock the gear in them. You're looking at about 700-800 hours of gameplay to unlock everything inside the warbonds if you don't cheat.

People saying that you can get SC just by 'playing the game' makes me roll my eyes, because as someone who actually plays the game. I know full damn well that actually playing the game on the fun difficulties like helldive means you're never going to get credits, they spawn significantly more rarely, or in practice you're just never going to have the chance to grab them meaning if you want to 'farm' super credits, you have to do an incredibly mundane workaround of walking around an empty map at the easiest difficulties, installing an immersion breaking texture hack to see skybox spawns and repeat this process for hours just to be able to afford one warbond.Or just hack in some spawns, even then the vast majority of people won't know how to do this so I cant even encourage people to pick up the game.

i think it has better cleave than the other ones. It goes through 1 head and hits the one behind. But generally speaking most people take the fastest firing one (best brrrrrt and faster infernus stacks), or the middle child (best ammo economy, if i recall correctly)

I took out all the armour and specials, even so more than half my krak's were wasted due to carapace dying so fast I stopped throwing them and just kept sniping with the bolter. Felt like a heresy run.

You're just doing it wrong, anon.
You want to aim for a 5~6 minute run, and speed run all sections EXCEPT specifically the long run after the first hack, leading to the second one. The bots can and will very often fall to their death in that section, so walk slowly to allow them to keep up.
The boss shouldn't even be allowed to attack if you build correctly. Bring a shock maul with Skullcrusher and just cave his face in. Chain weapons also work for annihilating the shield.
I can pretty consistently get runs with no downs or deaths with uprising bots.

When I still bothered with Melk assignments, I intentionally kept the 5 deathless runs, and usually got it in around 7 attempts of running Uprising Rolling Steel. The bots very rarely went down even when I was paying absolutely zero attention. With a bit of baby sitting, even (You) can keep them alive. With gold toughness, it'll be free.

Going fullscreen fucks up the brightness/gamma/contrast and no slider changes in the client seem to fix it. It's basically washed out and improperly bright/dark. Hitting alt+enter to go into Window mode makes it look proper. Going back into fullscreen fucks it up. My screen isn't HDR shit, and anything HDR is disabled. This game is older than HDR shit anyway.
Is there a way to use fullscreen but not use whatever retarded rendering bullshit it's doing that ruins the visuals?

There hasn't been a better action game since 2022. So whenever i want to blow off some mental steam i play darktide. 2500 hours later, here i am. Also the skill cap in this game is so high I can still learn and improve. That helps keeping the game engaging.
There have been other good action games but for whatever reason they don't last as long.
Armored Core 6 was awesome but I don't replay single player games.
Helldivers 2 is cool but the pacing is actually really slow. Everything has a delay. Great game but it's too slow for my brain.
Battlefield 6 is fun but there's not much to learn once you understand the maps. I've already peaked.
Space Marine 2 is unplayable. I don't like the gameplay, and i have a seething hatred for animation hit-stop. It looks like the game is lagging on every single attack. Stop doing this.
KF3 was decent for 2 week, then i lost interest.
Nioh 3 wasn't my thing.
So I just keep coming back to darktide.

LW only has a place in the havoc shitter bracket where retards fail very possible DPS check, and in auric for grenade spam which is actually pretty good.
The dog is extremely useful for locking down rainbow enemies in havoc, and taking care of snipers that your secondary doesn't kill, which should almost always be the case, because you should be using the stun shotgun. I don't even think LW bonuses fully make up for losing the dog. The DPS gain barely offsets the dog and only really translates into saving points (BTL + Forceful AV is the only way to justify it) but you're sacrificing Canine Morale which is better tankiness not only for you but for everyone else.
So many people also overlook the part where the dog constantly, permanently, and passively keeps you at max stacks for all of your stack-building shit, including Forceful. Even while doing objectives.
I also have to assume that LW shitters assume you MUST bring remote det with the dog, as if they need daddy's permission to bring shock mines without regen. A good havoc team shouldn't need more than 2-4 a run at most. Half the mines I throw are wasted anyway. Good runs barely benefit from them. LW is complete and utter overkill because you should never need that many mines. Enemies should be dying before the LW regen becomes relevant, and if they don't, your team composition is bad and you should never have started the run in the first place.
Remote det is awkward when it comes to staggering hordes of enemies because the dog should ideally be all the way over there mauling the sniper, gunner, etc., and monsters should get stagger raped anyway even without it. The few times monsters do become problematic, remote det very, very rarely helps.
A single shock mine near a rescue site when you're the last one standing will literally salvage a run, even if it's the only shock mine you ever use.

Sounds like you're relying on remote detonation when you should be using the shield flashbang if you want to be useful. Shotgun stun rounds also achieve the same thing. Between both of those, you have MUCH deeper reserves of control than remote det can possibly offer, and running all three is also overkill.
I guess it's kinda useful if you're not using the shield, but I genuinely do not understand why you would ever do that for any reason other thanfunor MAYBE Skullcrusher shock maul, but I'm still not 100% sold on it because I'd rather bring an ogryn. I like RD but it really is just fucking anemic when compared to everything else. They should at least buff the blast radius by 30-50% and buff the damage by 20-30% on it and make the shock/stun effect of it last longer so it can compete with mines.
Since nothing beats a 15 second pocket smite that you can carry 3 of and in a shitty spot you can also just drop an ammo crate to spam mines even harder.

It also got new major bugs, matchmaking breaking down because the devs haven't considered what happens to their ramshackle code when a new class is added but only 1 person per lobby can play it, cosmetic variety for that class that manages to compete with arbites, lacking voicework for the character to the point of not having lines for 11 out of 12 missions, missing gameplay aspects for the character in one of the gamemodes, locking previously unlocked cosmetics behind playing the new class, and new DLC that isn't even subtle about trying to do as little as possible to milk the players of more money.

It rarely is. How this game works at higher difficulties is that it just more efficient to spend your time dodging because you avoid all damage all together then. Also for most classes you do enough stagger and damage as to where you crowd control enemies enough to not die.

I'm interested in a melee psyker build for Darktide, while I'm usually willing to fuck around and discover things on my own I've been extremely short on time forcing me to min max my experience with the game. I know there are class talents, weapon stats and blessings unlocked by weapon mastery but my knowledge doesn't go much further than that.

- deflect (or whatever you want)
Voidblast staff. You pull this out to stagger gunners and tip over Crushers and Bulwarks.
I know someone will lose their mind seeing PAura and Warp ghost not picked but i don't care. Scriers doesn't need cooldown reduction. And psyker doesn't need more stamina or toughness replenishment. But of course you can edit this to your heart's content.

Everything in the build scales really well off of crits, headshots, and high peril, so you do all of those things. Spamming the ability will help you do all of those things, so will occasionally killing the enemies that glow light blue to upkeep the purple buff.
Killing things with melee and gun makes your warp attacks hit harder for a short time, killing things with warp attacks makes the melee and gun hit harder for a short time. You can shit out warp stuff with impunity for 8 or so seconds after hitting 100% with your ability active.

Don't trust the ring indicators for parry/dodge, they aren't tied to the avoidance window of the attacks at all it's just there to tell you that it is going to happen. You have to learn the timing for the enemy animations themselves, and for parrying your weapon's parry window (fencing weapons are more reactive moving the parry window to the front of your animation, balanced keeps it more in the middle)
In the beginning when you're still learning (and later if things get really heavy with teammates down) it's a lot of rolling and taking potshots when an opening reveals itself.

I know all those other stats look pretty but don't ever use anything other than fencing if you're still getting used to the game or have a bad connection to the servers. Start panic rolling away from danger like a Darks Soul if your armor goes too low, stay close to your team but not close enough that you're taking hits meant for them and lastly evasive maneuvers until the enemy stops shooting, I've seen many people develop the bad habit of tanking the hits and hitting the enemy until they stagger them only to be brutally raped for trying to pull the same moves on higher difficulties.

Not really. Anything you can do to make the heavy sword better will also make its competing weapons that much better.
A Veteran can pump out enough rending/brittleness out to make it tolerable against armour. Giving you a horde and dreg rager butcher that isn't completely useless when the kraks run out.

the only melee that's better than the heavy sword on a martyr zealot at clearing the screen is the psyker greatsword. the heavy sword is insane at killing hordes, maulers, ragers, specials, monstrosities, fucking anything except crushers.

This is actually a good thing, while I criticized a bad habit in my previous post Darks Soul panic rolling is another bad habit, you're brute forcing the solution by practicing until you're proficient at countering every enemy. Next step is to be consistent, you gotta pump those numbers to at least 95% success rate.
A couple of influencing factors are your class and your situational awareness, bulwark, tactical and assault are classes which, depending on the build, can stay in protracted melee combat while still being efficient at killing. Sure, other classes can fight in melee but you're wasting your time and opening yourself to longer windows of vulnerability if you aren't constantly thinning the herd. In regards to your awareness, even the bulwark needs to know when to run, you'll still take damage even while playing perfectly and exploiting enemy openings, if there are too many red attacks you're fucked, too many ranged enemies and you'll lose half your health before you know it, in higher difficulties those brief periods between the i-frames going away and getting control of your character back will kill you, so choosing when, where, who and in what order you engage enemies is vital when it comes to getting out of a fight unscathed.

I'm doing tactical with the chainsword, plasma pistol, and heavy bolt rifle. I play mostly with bots which may be part of the problem, they seem to be basically invincible in most situations but I don't get the sense they put in a lot of weight in combat, but I do get to hog their executions.
But I like the bots because I can pause the game.

I dislike the heavy bolt rifle, I use the plasma for effectivity, grenade launcher bolter for variety and standard bolter for roleplaying.
I prefer bots to 90% of randoms but of course I play with friends if possible.
The grenade every 60 seconds is great, always keep Kraks or a Melta for quickly getting rid of priority targets. I can post my perks if needed when I get home in 3 or 4 hours.

Stop using "Balanced" melee weapons, the parry timing on them is absolutely fucking retarded and is not worth learning. Use fencing as a crutch until one day you feel like actually being a melee god with block power axe.
You can fish for free armor if there are minoris nearby by slapping them with a sprinting attack or just a normal light depending on your weapon, followed by a gunstrike.
Don't feel compelled to take every gunstrike you get offered. They have no invulnerability window and lock you into an animation where you absolutely can and will get hit.

I've tried a bit of everything and I've come to the conclusion that this is the optimal perk list for a tactical who's beating people with a sword as often as he's shooting them. Of course if you're planning on using the planning on using the plasma incinerator, what I consider to be the best Tactical weapon, you should switch kraken penetrator rounds for plasma boost.

Rampage with Shivs is probably the most powerful setup. But you can combine Rampage with any weapon you like. Chain Axe, Tac Axe, Crowbar, etc...
