The new class won't come out in 2-3 weeks.
We'll see official teasers about the class in April at best, before the Warhammer Skulls event in May where they'll reveal the class, and then finally they'll release the class around 25th of June, like they did with Arbites.
The very next update we are getting, based on all the youtuber shilling and then "expeditions" datamining, will most likely just be Chaos Wastes + its associated penances, and then nothing else.
No new weapons, no new "biomes", not even a new map in a pre-existing "biome".

I know and in 2025, the 1st big updates were just the ogryn rework and then snoretis trials, that's it.
Arby was revealed in May and came out in June. Hive Scum then followed suit 6 months later, Fatshark revealed scum 1 month before the actual release on December 2nd.
The next update with 99% certainty won't be a new class.

I boughted buyed Deep Rock Galactic and Minecraft Dungeons and Terraria on xbox sale, and earlier got Vampire Survivors. Waiting for Megabonk to also come to xbox. I gotta be honest bros - I did not had as much fun playing gaymes in years. I think simple/fun/indie is the way to go.

It will be a skittle because despite what people think this game is still about you playing as an expendable shitter who is meant to kill zombies in a sewer, and that is what skitarii are.
They are the admech foot soldiers meant to die in droves so their techpriests can stay safe.
Also nevermind that we've had that vox intercept about the "good ol' plasmagun". The entire thing was 100% meant to set up as a teaser for devs to add Radium weapons, which is what the skitarii use.
However you notice that the voices on the vox intercept 5 are human, which points to that Fatshark was originally planning on both vets and skittles use the radium weapons.
But GW obviously blocked that and didn't allow it since they are autistic about this stuff.
Which already points to the fact that the devs have been thinking about skitarii since at least January 2024, which is about 2 years ago. As you can see from this link.

It's a team composition issue. Backpedaling = lack of DPS. This should never happen when all 4 are alive.
It's actually hard to say what you should improve, besides the blanket statement of

Although if you don't take Target the Weak you are part of the problem and belong in the trench.
I suggest you bring Nuncio for more DPS, and always bring shriek psyker + krak vet. That combo should make failing DPS checks impossible. If you want even more damage, avoid zealots, bring a crate scum instead if you need corruption clear, else an ogryn with Skullcrusher for even more damage. Or use the blessing yourself on the regular old shock maul.

Bubble is powerful but ultimately a crutch. It's obviously still appreciated, but I play plenty of h40 without bubble and it goes just fine.

Scum was only ever "the weakest" up to level 20-ish because they buried all the must-pick talents in the bottom of the tree. Leveling the class was fucking suffering. They reshuffled some talents shortly after, and now some important defensive talents are available early on.
AIDS gun is retardedly overpowered, having infinite ammo on it is overpowered, having extremely overtuned dodges is stupid in a game where dodging is already kind of the best defensive tech, you can provide good team support, you're the most consistently fast class in the game, etc.
Scum is a top tier class, it just has an even higher skill floor than psyker does, to reach such performance, especially after the stupid psyker buffs that made the class braindead easy.

There is a bunch of Adeptus Mechanicus content releasing soon.
1. The Techmarine class for Space Marine 2 got released recently.
2. Mechanicus 2 is set to release this spring.
3. Rogue Trader's 3'rd DLC is also set to release this spring. And since it's aboyt Trazyn the Infinite's -treasure pile of stolen goods- Infinite Museion that means there'll be Necrons, and the Adeptus Mechanicus is in the middle of a war with the Necrons. I'm not a 100% sure if Owlcat has confirmed an AdMech Origins/Class for Rogue Trader yet, but an Augmentics system IS confirmed.
4. For the tabletop wargame new Admech/Skitarii units were revealed some time ago.
5. The TTRPG Imperium Maledictum is getting an Adeptus Mechanicus sourcebook.
6. Dawn of War 4 will have playable Adeptus Mechanicus.
It looks like Games Workshop is doing a Cross-Promotion campaign of sorts. So Cryptic is most likely an Adeptus Mechanicus class.
Also, the "Under Construction" are on the Mourningstar has a logo that combines the Imperial Aquila over the Cog Mechanicus.

I haven't played the previous game and bought the second one at a discount. I couldn't bring myself to play through the QTE rollslop, but I liked the story enough to watch someone else play it. I'm sure it's fun if you have absolutely zero standards when it comes to gameplay and just want some slop to turn your brain off to. yes I did like 3 havoc 40s yesterday and one with only 2 stupid downs, and one with 2 total noobs that was a real fun slog that I had to clutch to save a guy like twice. Ogryn is easily my best class in havoc 40. You can totally babysit everyone with push taunt and the cooldown taunt node. You can force bosses away from your teammates, force the enemies into chokes and shit really easily. And when you can't you're taunting every single enemy so they're all following you over a railing and not doing shit.
Pickaxe is good to single out purple healing guys, shield is good to protect your teammates by spamming push taunt, power maul is really good now.
I had a purple shield boss and the twins spawn yesterday and I was able to taunt the entire screen and jump over the benches in the train station assassination mission over and over to neuter them. whilst deleting stuff with pickaxe one shots.

They annihilate trash and kill lower HP elites good, but so does a psyker by simply existing. Shriek usually clears a screen, and does so faster than the grenades can. It's not strictly a buff in practice, because all the other enemies can get stagger-raped into a choke while only the purples filter through, letting you actually deal with them, but it still sucks major cock when there's a purple rager in your face and all you can do is block and pray your team gets it.

Doesn't really matter. I never bothered with that penance seeing as it was clearly going faster than some others, and I got it passively like a thousand hours or so in. A ton of other penances are easier/faster to do, and just running diagonally into them is already normal gameplay, so you don't have to do anything weird to get it, just play more.

The only reason you should care about penances that are a pain in the ass to finish, is because you want 100% completion.
If you just want to finish your battle pass thing, there are many infinitely easier penances to get, such as most class penances, or the weapon level penances (that you can just buy out if you're rich enough).
If you're autistically gunning for 100% completion, you will run into roadblocks that take much longer, such as revives, games without anyone going down, or poxbreaker in general. In which case it's pointless to worry about the reaper penance because it'll just finish itself.

I have Dream Team, all classes, all weapons, all special kills, explosive barrel kills, and all revives and I'm still just below 400 on the Reaper penance. I'm half way to poxbreaker.
Reaper dodges does not come quickly in casual play. Reapers die way, way too fast and reliably, most don't even wind up and start shooting before they're popped by Psykers or Hive Scum on accident.
It is not a casual over-time Penance, it's a "play a specific way" to get this penance like many of the class ones.
You must come from an era where the game was still a little hard, perhaps.

Assail is actually really fucking good even unboosted, it just deletes unarmored enemies. Excellent synergy with the less-than-meta staff choices, assuming you remember to use it at the correct time. It's really good with electric staff builds, especially leftclick focused ones.
Brain burst is technically quite bad unless fully invested, but it's a must-pick with flame staff since you need something that can kill snipers. If you do FULLY juice it (including Empowered Psionics) it CAN be your main damage source, assuming you can aim it at exclusively elites/specials. It's possible to break 300-400k damage with just brain burst, so it's absolutely more viable than most shitters will try to tell you, but it's neither optimal nor easy to pull off.

Reload speed + rending are the actually good stimms. Burst output is always better than spamming your stimm. If you think it's good, you don't know how Stimm Supply works, or you're crutching on Desperado too much, end of discussion. If you're in it for the crit, look at VM. You shouldn't need damage reduction on the class with infinite dodges, and if you do, you need to go back to malice.
If you're using crate to support, understand how the skill works first. Most players don't. The buff is only shared if it consumes your stimm, so stop injecting it. The only crate buff I care about as a teammate, is attack speed. If you bring just Spur V, I'm happy. If you also bring something else, that's cool too. I think I like Hypex (melee CDR) the most because melee centric classes tend to have really strong abilities, but I wouldn't complain about the others. Yes, even top left is fine.

DB shotgun is fine and usable on vet, but it's just a cone bleed applicator. You should be using it with an Uncanny Strike weapon to make the bleed actually impactful. Using it for damage is kinda shit on vet.
Scum can build it for damage and perform okay with it. Works well in auric, but won't do anything particularly impressive, and still has terrible range so snipers become a pain.
No other class uses it to any effect unfortunately, even if arbitrator can do the funny triple barrel meme.

You can see this in some of the class personalities like the 2 Savant psykers who are both Atoman natives regardless what you pick in the "character creator".

It's possible that there might've been multiple named characters for each class/archetype, but decided against it.

I'm kind of assuming they were ambitious enough to try the exact opposite, with characters having much more detailed customized voice responses that fit with your character choices. Then they realized they'd have to actually pay writers and voice actors, while they were also in the middle of realizing that they'd have to actually WORK to get paid, instead of lazing around and vacationing 5 days of the week as is Sw*dish tradition, so they ditched it and left behind the vestiges of the system. The same went for half the fucking features in the game. Even the blessing system has become vestigial, there is no reason whatsoever for level 1-3 blessings to exist anymore when you can just force them, never mind the obvious fact that most weapons have a multitude of useless dogshit meme blessings, and many of them have at least 1 that is mandatory else the weapon doesn't work.

The slug shotgun is a decent side grade to the bolt pistol on zealot, for example. You lose the ability to continually snipe, and gain the ability to reload single shells during a slide so you never have to stop moving to reload, which bistol and revolver take fucking eons to complete.
The combat shotguns have quite strong burst DPS but then spend forever reloading. Veteran can manage this well. A while ago, some anon mentioned piss vision vet with all the reload speed nodes using a shotgun. I can see that doing quite well actually.
The incendiary one unfortunately underperforms, because the incendiary rounds deal jack shit for actual damage, they're just DoT. It's actually kind of worse than just a bolt pistol with Puncture, it's pretty sad. You can snipe with the burn, but the slugs do it better.

Yes, this is true even in h40. I've had my share of scum wasting all their RPGs on random crushers that would've just taken a bit longer to clear, and then not have an RPG when we actually fucking need it.

As for blessings, the reason why most weapons in the game have genuinely shit blessings is a relic from the RNG days. That's the actual reason.
They wanted you to play gacha for your weapons, and only way that type of system works is if you make it into a casino with good blessings and then dogshit blessings. But it was genuinely horribly implemented and a bad idea from the get go, because there's no fun to be had here you have like 4 or 5 different layers of RNG to go through, where at any moment Hadron could just brick your weapon and make it useless dogshit.
It also explains why there are so many weapon variants when you think about it. Like did we really need 9 different autoguns? No. They only exist to make the RNG shit feel more varied.

Yeah, I don't think ogryn should be 100% immune to specials either, but being able to punch off a hound after like 5-10 seconds would be fine imo. You'd still be disabled for a considerable amount of time and you can still very easily die. Like you get pounced, but at the same time a tox bomber throws a grenade on top of you, now you have double corruption build up from the dog and the gas, but you are also taking damage 10 seconds straight from the dog biting you.
That is a very precarious situation, that can easily spiral into you dying and can even end the run.
Like for example arbites is already immune to dogs and mutants thanks to the cyber-mastiff, which also reacts to you getting netted or dogged faster than your teammates sometimes.
Ogryn in comparison being disabled for like 10 seconds and then punching the hound off is WAY less over powered.

It's not hated, it's a very strong career with good buffs for the team and can do fun stuff. The problem it created was that it added a second melee-only career into the game, followed by them adding Warrior Priest as well for the 3rd melee only. Before GK you could only have a Slayer on your team that didn't have a ranged weapon, suddenly 3 of the 4 slots could be filled with people who can not deal with a special past mid-short range. GK and WP are very popular too because they're DLC classes and they're pretty good, unfortunately they often create lobbies where 2/4 or 3/4 people can't kill a Blightstormer or a Gasrat and it gets pretty annoying.

All DLC weapons we have are just reused concepts.
Arbites shotguns are just combat shotguns that hit very hard with a secondary ammo reserve for the special shells.
Arby shock maul IS just a reskinned shock maul. The weapon special even more lazy because the original shockmauls actually have a special animation for you zapping the enemies, the arby maul special is just another fucking swing but this time your maul has electricity on it.
The suppression shields are nothing new either because they are just a slabshield + shock maul that then has venting shriek as a weapon special.
Only actually new thing we got is the shot pistol + shield, which even then just amounts to you being able to block ranged attacks as you shoot your own gun.
As for hive scum it's even more low effort.
The needler is just a gun with Puncture built in, but instead of bleed you apply AIDS onto enemies.
Stub pistols are yet again just a generic gun and might as well be a reskin of the las pistol but you have 2 of them.
Uzis are just 2 original autopistols taped together.
The shivs are quite literally just combat knives but you get 2 of them, while you also have the zealot throwing knife built-in, another reused mechanic.
The bone saw is just a heavy sword that applies either AIDS or britteleness to enemies on hit.
And finally the crowbar is literally just a reskinned sapper shovel from vet, it even attacks in the same way where you do damage when you initially hit the enemy, but you do additional damage as you pull the weapon out.
Only difference between the crowbar and shovel is that with the crowbar you don't need to re toggle the "pickaxe mode" everytime you use it.

The boltgun is actually pretty decent.
The damage loss is marginal since you can keep max stacks of Pinning Fire up pretty much permanently, as it stacks up in a single shot. The thing has a frightening amount of stagger and will throw around bursters before they even get close.

It also staggers the fuck out of just about every disabler before they can do anything, without the need to aim particularly well. Only mutants are exempt.
Pinning Fire is the only mandatory blessing on it, so you can still build it to headshot snipe on vet with Deadshot, and it does the job well enough. The main downside is the loss of ammo, which is absolutely felt even in auric. I personally wouldn't bring it into havoc, but I've seen it work well enough to be viable even there.
I do ultimately think it's a bit of a downgrade over the original bolter, but after using it for a while and adjusting to it, I don't think it sucks ass at all. I just wish the explosion effect didn't create a massive opaque cloud that ruins visibility.

I don't think the game should subject uprisinglets to bulwark spam, or crushers clipping through an impenetrable wall of bulwarks. Don't forget that the intended gameplay for bulwarks is obviously to wait for an opening and then whack/shoot them in the head, which becomes borderline impossible if there's 4 of them stacked into each other and also a crusher running through them and also oops one of them died and now you explode and get bounced into a burster or some similar shit.
Noobs and shitters simply cannot deal with this. If my bots constantly eat shit, imagine what some low level new player has to go through, that possibly can't even HAVE anti-armor and anti-bulwark tools because the game won't let them have them.
Tangentially, I also think that if some shitter fails the event too many times in auric, they should get locked out of playing it in auric. If you have a max level character and have played the event at least once, you should know to bring a build that can deal with it, and yet many shitters just expect to get carried while contributing less than a bot would.

But the devs went about the dumbest way to correct the issue, the devs didn't buff the enemy health enough at all, and instead of buffing the health again which nobody would've minded, they just resorted to just tweaking the AI so it now spawns congalines of elites.
Which has resulted in the modern state and dogshit balance of the game where 90% of the weapons are just dogshit because they can't handle all the elites and armor the game throws at you.

I really think the bulwark spam is worse overall, but also crushers should probably not even exist in uprising. Genuinely, what the fuck is the level 8 nooblet supposed to do? You barely unlock anything that can reliably deal with them, but also probably don't even know the game mechanics that favorably interact with carapace, or what that armor type even means.
