I think without mods they similar, yet still overall a bit better in dai imo. Although, desu, that's mostly style-wise, not graphics-wise (similar hairstyles are roughly the same). For some reason, larians chose to use hairstyles that expose graphical limitations of the game the most.
But it was released in 2014, not 2023 like bg3, so I believe it's very forgivable in its case.

Approaching the end of the game slowed me down. Maybe that's why some people restart in Act 3? I learned from other titles that planning ahead helps with actually finishing it but I was never fond of this one "epic battle against a big-shot boss" after another tempo. Although after a point I guess this comes with the territory. If I didn't have enough unexplored locations and unexhausted side content to last me until the very end thanks to my general approach I would probably struggle the finish the whole thing right now.

Pillars had multiple (story book) events where the rope was requirement to be able to select an option. Deadfire had the grappling hook variant though I'm not sure if it counts as a classic rope. It was also used in Kingmaker a couple of times. I bet it's thesame in Wrath too but I haven't played it yet. In ATOM RPG there's a location that always pisses me off as it needs two (2) ropes if you don't want to come back again to loot everything and I always forgot to bring a second. From what I remember Wasteland games also utilize it on a couple of occasions though I can't recall any instance in 3 off the top of my head. This was obviously not an exhaustive list and I only focused on relatively recent titles to show that ropes having functional use in CRPGs are not unheard of.

I prefer Owlcat's way of doing it, if a companion has something to say in a conversation and they're in your party they will always say it. Sometimes other companions will comment on their reaction if they're in the party, sometimes it'll even 3-4 companions with a back and forth if they're all in your party. Most of the time the companion dialogue is isolated though.

That's what I originally though as well but it turned out to be not entirely true. Certain scenes favor certain companions for some reason. Test this on the gnome pile in the Grymforge once you sent the Duergars away! When I first approached the area (again) Karlach said something, then I reloaded and that time it was Shadowheart who made a remark. Then the next 23 times as well. I shit you not! The only thing that kept me going with the reloads was the determination to settle this question for good. I sooner got a remark out of our 4th companion before Karlach again but alas it finally happened. I even reloaded once to reset if some seeding took place in the background!

This appears to be the optimal spot for the maximized Heroes' Feast with this campsite. Three companions (Wyll, Lae'zel, Minsc) affected on top of the caster (Shart) by default and three more (Tav plus the two active party members) can be added by manually placing them inside the AoE. In other words three out of the Jaheira, Karlach, Gale, Astarion, Halsin quintet will be left out. I don't have Minthara recruited so I can't tell how she would be affected by this.

As for Heroes' Feat it requires clear line of sight. That's what the game doesn't explicitly tell you. It also doesn't effect anybody but allies (green outline), so you can't use it to buff Aylin (neutral - yellow outline ) before fights.

The problems there probably come from Lae'zel being one of the companions for the evil path so she has to approve of evil things you do in an evil playthrough, but on the other hand that feels out of character because her evil is entirely caused due to a proud Githyanki being lawful evil. Because of that she isn't written to be opposed to good people and organizations if they show martial courage and are not anti-Githyanki, and she doesn't like a lot of other evil things and organizations, these include Shar who benefits from Nightsong's death.
