Honestly, the more I think about it, the happier I am with the Outimals. I really wish they had more designs and characterization, and that they were tougher to scare off than with a flashlight you always have on, but they got their own dedicated section that was fairly creepy and well-done, and ultimately they have no reason to attack you in hordes like the Critters, since they have no allegiance to the Prototype and are probably more scared of being found and killed by him than they are hungry to eat you.

I would like them to do something with the story.
Nothing major, maybe introduce characters earlier (example is to maybe have DogDay help somewhere before he gets captured and tortured), make Poppy more sympathetic and helpful, have the player speak and explain the orphan saving mission in chapter 2 at the latest. I think Isaac straight-up left peacefully to do his own thing, no major falling out or "creative differences." They should have scrapped lily altogether.
Going from chapter 3, to keep the game from being too far fetched and increasing the scare factor would have been:

Ms Gracie's character still existed, and her role before the HOJ was still to psychologically abuse and brainwash the children-turned-monstrosities to the point they lost their identity.

When the hour arrives, instead of killing her like the other staff, the toys still arrest her and subject her to the same brainwashing she subjected them to. HOWEVER

She remains human. Psychologically broken and convinced she's a toy. When you make it to Sweet Street after finding notes and lore alluding to her fate, you meet a disheveled, emaciated, ghoulish woman, totally mad, and convinced that she's a toy. The prototype keeps her alive on the remains of the dead employees.

They would have needed to stress just how irredeemable and sadistic the character was to justify that, but it would have made the game 100x more terrifying. Its implied the prototype transferred Ms Gracie in to an already planned bigger body Lily. Lily itself just doesn't fit in the games universe. The HOJ happened in the mid 90s, and she looks far too modern. Even her cutouts are steven universe-tier slop.

The whole game could have been executed better.

I REALLY like this idea, in terms of pure scare factor it's way better than Lily and you wouldn't even need to change many gameplay aspects for it. So I just finished watching Mark's play through of Chapter 5 and honestly, once you get past his hangriness, while I think "I'm not going to play Chapter 6" is a *little* harsh, overall... I don't think he said anything inaccurate or unfair. The animation is great, there's a great story and great characters in this game, but they're too hidden and muddled by overuse of chase sequences, mechanics you're just supposed to know or else you die, characters who show up and we're supposed to give a shit *, and wandering around doing the same tasks over and over. Hell, personally, on that last point, having watched GT Live's playthrough first, I did think to myself "This is the first chapter of Poppy Playtime that has reminded me of Garten of Banban." As much as I've liked the series so far, it's not perfect.

* Honestly, it feels like Giblet was introduced because his role was originally supposed to go to 1) Poppy, but she was supposed to have been run off at the time, so that didn't make too much sense, or 2) another previously introduced ally like Doey or DogDay, but the writers couldn't figure out how to make that work, but the Butcher apparently NEEDED a friendly character and so Giblet was born, Also, borderline endgame was not the time to introduce a character like Lily, a side quest villain with their own special domain. And no, that's not a knock against Lily specifically, it's a bad time for any new villain to introduced. Revealing that Mommy Long Legs and/or CatNap was still alive would've made more sense.

I think Lily was meant to be the Prototype's first attempt at transplanting a human into the toy. While revenge was part of it, I think turning Ms. Gracie into Lily was also the Prototype trying his hand at making toys, so he could start toward fulfilling his dream of creating a race of immortal toys like himself and Poppy.
You could also see it as a political move to keep the toys from just destroying all the infrastructure needed to make new toys by giving a legitimate reason to have it around (to punish the remaining Playtime employees after the Hour of Joy).

It's been said b4, but Poppy would've done so much better as like a TV show or something. I mean nobody's going into every new chapter thinking "Oh boy! I can't wait for all the new PUZZLES and HAND TYPES this chapter's gonna have!" We're all here for the story, and this is corroborated by the fact that some of the most fun the fandom has every year is trying to figure out the ARGs connected to the chapters inbetween releases (which include zero gameplay). Also yea it would've been better if MOB kept around allies/enemies from previous chapters, but apart from Huggy and Sawyer, every single one got very obviously killed on screen so there's no way to reuse them, which is just another annoying habit of MOB, like let us enjoy a character for more than 5 minutes Christ.

Because he ultimately isn't fighting for revenge the same way the rest of the toys are. He doesn't hate Ms. Gracie (or any of the higher-ups for that matter) the same way the rest of the toys do. He just saw her as a convenient way to begin his tests on making the toy Übermensch.
