This, though, is a good point. I could see an argument that Sena simply took her own pin off for the party because she doesn't want to portray herself as having just won, but that feels weak. I could also see keeping her own pin and just not wearing it anymore because even if she was "a" Prima Stella, she's no longer "the" Prima Stella. But if that's the case, whether she still owns it is irrelevant, because the original question was why she's wearing it.
To which I'd guess that they just don't have a 3D asset for Sena's school uniform without the pin. That's a very small detail that 99% of players won't notice, and thus probably not worth making a new asset for an ambiguous timeline where we don't even know who the Prima Stella is anymore.

This entire time I thought P-Idol commus just don't occur in NIA runs. I got my SUNFADED Hiro (my first Step 3 P-Idol) and my first run (NIA) with her the P-Idol commus didn't happen, and now with my 2nd NIA run with her her commus start showing up. Have I been operating under a misconception this entire time?
I've been focusing on NIA runs first so I can get everyone to max bond but also because I find NIA runs easier since you can more easily remove the Basic cards on top of having some bonkers customization (like removing the Once clause on that Full Power SSR card), should I be doing Hajime Master every once in a while?

With the "9.18 incident" and subsequent the disaster of iM@S 2, everything seemed lost. However....
- The anime saved the IP. The plot was very faithful to the original game, the seiyuus were given enough freedom to express themselves, and much care was given to the music. A Ryuuguu Komachi subplot was introduced where in the end they remained in 765 Pro.
- It sold almost 30k DVDs/BDs, mainly because it came packaged with the G4U PS3 game. Standalone sales were about 8k. All in all, they were good numbers.
- Around 2011, there was a big revolution with mobile and online gaming (Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and other "must have" games for iPhone and iPad). Nevertheless, Japan had its own separate ecosystem, still using fliphones. Gree and Mobage were the 2 big players with their "social games".
- Cinderella Girls was released in November 2011 on Mobage. Bamco retained the IP, designed the characters, and created the plot, but since they didn't have experience creating this kind of game, the development was outsourced to Cygames.
- CG released with more than 100 idols, but many didn't have voices. For the voiced idols, the selection of seiyuus was also peculiar. Rin was voiced by a total newbie, similar to Haruka from 765.
- The game was inspired by AKB48's general election, with the most popular idol crowned Cinderella Girl and receiving a card of the highest rarity. The top 30 idols got CDs, extra scenarios, and other official goodies.
- The predatory "complete gacha" (gather all cards of a certain set to upgrade it) mechanics made bank, with records of 5m users and monthly revenue of 100m yen. It became a social problem, with people putting too much money into it that such practices were made illegal by Japan's Consumer Affairs Agency.

- Almost all future gachas followed Cygames' recipe for bishoujo games.
- For 765, an iPhone game was released next year: Idolmaster Mobile, a GPS social/raising game. You had to go to each prefecture in Japan to log in and increase the number of fans and the fame of your idol. With AR, you could also interact with your idol and take photos with her. The author draws similarities to the future Pokemon GO.
- Shiny Festa PSP, a rythm game with 2D MVs, had 3 version with the 3 versions of the OVA to boost sales. It sold 119k copies. Shiny Festa iOS was released globally and the first iM@S overseas game. It was also the first iM@S phone rhythm game.
- Mobage's competitor, Gree, also wanted a piece of the pie, so Million Live was created. This time, Bamco developed it inhouse and went all in. The 13 (original 765 Pro) + 37 (new ML) idols were all voiced, so the investment and risk were also bigger. The art direction was given to A-1 Pictures (2011 anime studio), so the style followed the anime's. The gameplay wasn't revolutionary nor much different from CG. So what's different? If CG pushed competition, then ML favored "union". You didn't need to pour in all your effort and money to make your idol the top 1 in the ranking.
- Both games' music style are also different. 765 Pro and CG's music was produced by Columbia and Bamco but ML's was given to Lantis (back then it was still pretty independent) so the music direction was distinct. Many of ML's songs were high-energy standard J-POP, well suited to live performances. On the other hand, CG experimented more, with not just non-idol music but also other non-mainstream genres, which is the traditional iM@S style. Today, after the full merger of Lantis, these style differeces are practically gone.

- One for All was released for PS3. The produce time limit of 1 year was removed. Ishihara said that in contrast to the mobile and arcade games, it was for busy working people without much time, allowing them to enjoy producing the idols at their own pace. It was more laid back and you could see the idols lounging and playing around the office. RPG mechanics were also introduced to help with replayability. In the commus, the idols were not static anymore but moved around and changed their expressions. Each month there was were DLCs: new clothes, accessories, songs, and guest idols (from CG, ML, DS). It was the first time all the idols were available in one game. With 83k sold copies, it earned high praise and allowed the survival of the console versions of iM@S. It was the first fully fan translated game into Chinese and English.
- SideM was released in 2014 on Mobage. Servers got so overloaded at release that it went offline for 5 months. It had 16 units with 49 male idols. All the idols had other jobs before becoming idols. Mechanically, it was similar to CG and ML, as if Bamco had started an assembly line to rip people off.
- This game was aimed at all genders. The art was not the stereotypical shoujo manga style and there was also a trap (Saki). The job change background of the idols (to pursue their dreams) could also resonate with everyone. The game didn't have fujo fanservice nor romance, it was more about the camaraderie between the guys. The music was more hot blooded and had more of a rock style, fitting for a shounen manga.
- Even if at the start of the IP, the iM@S console games were seen as a galge, there were also many female producers making fanart and buying merch. So this jump to male idols was not very surprising. It not only cleared Jupiter's name after iM@S 2 but also earned many producers' recognition, making it a big achievement. This marks the achievement of 2nd Vision's goal, to make iM@S for everyone, not only galge otakus.

- After the 2011 Anime and Shiny Festa, the anime producer Toba Yoshinori wanted to make another season but was shot down by Ishihara and Nishigori (anime director). The anime had completely told the 765 Pro story, so they thought about an OVA but then changed it to a movie, to continue the story of 765 Pro with their kouhai and to give Million Live a helping hand. The 2014 movie was considered the best among idol-themed anime films. Real live footage was used as reference. It had 520k viewers and had a turnover of 773m yen, and won many awards.
- The ending song, M@STERPIECE, spawned the Masterpiece series and represented the 10 years of the 765 Pro trajectory and the soul of the franchise. It is regarded as the Top 1 song by producers.
- The movie really marks the end of the original 765 Pro's story. Now the stage is left for the other brands, like CG with the anime of 2015.
- To commemorate the 10th anniversary, MOIW 2015 was held at Seibu Dome, being the first dome live and the realization of Eriko's famous 2006 phrase an the first anniversary live: "Domu desuyo, doomu!"

Appendix about real world idols.
By 2007 Morning Musume was already fading into obscurity, and another idol group, AKB48, was taking its place.
Morning Musume's producer, Tsunku, was a musician by trade (vocalist of the rock band SharanQ). He composed all the songs, wrote the lyrics, and recorded the demo vocals himself. He says that he didn't see the girls as romantic targets, but rather as daughters and extensions of himself to help him accomplish his musical goals.
The music he produced was mainstream, with most lyrics written from the perspective of a resilient but slightly clumsy woman. While the fandom certainly included hardcore wotas, Morning Musume had a very strong female following, especially in the waning popularity phase.
In contrast, AKB48's producer, Akimoto Yasushi, was a writer by trade. He worked in TV scriptwriting and composing lyrics, having written a few hit idol songs. Back in the '80s, he was the lyricist for the idol group Onyanko Club and married one of the popular idols, Takai Mamiko. He once told Tsunku to "marry one of the Morning Musume girls and be the producer of her life too" (however Tsunku ended up marrying a former model)
Akimoto admits to having no musical talent, but on the business front, he was a genius. In 2005 he created AKB48 and by 2008, they were becoming an unstoppable sensation.
While the old '80s idols were distant idealized existences (perfect and untouchable beings to be worshipped. Idols), Morning Musume had a girl-next-door vibe (a more relatable presence as you saw them audition, laugh, cry, and do silly shit on TV), AKB48 had the lure of idols you could meet in person.

Based on a small theater in Akihabara, the group was planned to have 48 members. Through regular shows, one could meet the girls in person and shake their hands (the CDs came with handshake tickets) instead of seeing them on TV or in magazines. Some of the song lyrics were very provocative with topics like compensated dating, bullying, suicide, taboo relations (teacher-student, yuri), often written from a male perspective. The MVs, stage dresses and choreography had a very generous amount of fanservice specially tailored to the male wota demographic. The strategy was quantity over quality: with so many girls, you were bound to find one you fancied.
It sold a Cinderella story: the simple, overlooked girl, that you could personally meet and support, could eventually become a star. Coincidentally or not, Sato Amina, an AKB48 idol, would voice Tachibana Arisu after graduating.
Practices like selling idol merch, fans bulk buying CDs, or idols holding handshake events were certainly not new. The father of Abe Natsumi (Morning Musume's first center and the inspiration for Haruka), bought a box of 500 CDs to support his daughter's career (the group had to sell 50k copies in X weeks to get their debut). However, Akimoto combined these ideas and refined them. The more CDs you bought, the more time for the handshake you had; the more CDs you bought, the more votes for the general election you had (where the center and lineup of the idols for the next single was decided); if you managed to gather all the posters of the 40-something idols (you got 1 random poster per CD bought) you got an invitation to an exclusive event (though it was cancelled due to the "complete gacha" laws). AKB48 was very, very successful. They took over the title of "national idols", sold millions of CDs and even had several regular TV programs.

Everything was turned into a battle royale. Not only for the idols (who competed for lines and camera time) but for the staff as well. For songs, Akimoto requested demos from multiple composers and arrangers, picked the one he fancied and wrote the lyrics. He bragged about creating sister groups under different music labels to make them fight and compete against each other (AKB48 with King Records, SKE48 with Avex, NMB48 with Universal, etc). Even when AKB48 was at the peak of their popularity, he created "rival" groups like Nogizaka46 or Keyakizaka46 with a more cool and serious atmosphere in an attempt to control even the "opposition". It also extended overseas
This overcomercialization and commodification of idols naturally brought the authenticity and quality down. Lip syncing was the norm and when they did sing live, it's was a disaster. Competitions were thought to be rigged, for example, the "rock-paper-scissors tournament" where every girl could get lucky and win (in contrast to the selection of centers by the management): The first competition was won by a no-name won but as her feature CD didn't sell, subsequent winners coincidentally were almost always popular girls or the ones that the management was actively promoting (one won by only throwing paper every time, pictured below). Fans rationalized these practices with opinions like "They have to dance around, so it's understandable if they lipsync" or "The first winner of the tournament had zero charisma, so they were forced to fix the results. It's better this way".

And lastly: Scandals. They are a staple in the entertainment business. Morning Musume had a few but most of them happened after they graduated from the group.
- Yaguchi Mari ("Yayoi") was photographed with with an actor and resigned. Later, she was caught having an affair when her husband came home and found a guy in the closet.
- Kago Ai (one of the "AmiMami" duo) was repeatedly caught smoking while underage and going on a car trip with an older guy to an onsen. She was fired.
- Abe Natsumi ("Haruka") plagiarized a poem.
- Yoshizawa Hitomi ("Makoto") ran a red light while drunk, injured 2 people and fled the scene.
- Other members of sister groups were also caught by tabloids with guys from the showbiz. A few of them ended up married like Tsuji Nozomi (the other "AmiMami"), Iida Kaori ("Chihaya") who announced her pregnancy and marriage in the middle of her fanclub's bus tour.
However, AKB's scandals take on another nuance with incidents like:
- Nakanishi Rina said that she had her first experience was with an old man she didn't even know when she was 17. She later starred in JAV and she was not the only ex-member to do that.
- 2 idols of NGT48 allegedly arranged for a fellow member (Maho Yamaguchi) to be raped near her home. She managed to escape and was forced to apologize for "causing trouble".
- The center of Keyakizaka46 (Hirate Yurina) suffered such a mental breakdown that she was having panic attacks, repeatedly falling off stage and inuring herself, fainting, etc. She quit so suddenly that devastated the group. The management rebranded the group as Sakurazaka46 and erased all traces of her.
- Kasai Tomomi was photographed together with an AKB48 executive going to his luxury condo.
- An AKB48 manager (Nodera Takashi) was secretly filming the idols while they were showering and changing.

Aside from the things you mentioned SSS+ runs give marginally more books at the end of each run.
But the big thing is for Strengthening Week events since they're the most competitive events in the game right now. And if you want to get the rainbow title you need to place top 50 in your group. Hajime Legend is the only way you're going to do that.

It's kind of interesting how a lot of 2nd Vision stuff reflects that initial shift from iM@S' Morning Musume inspirations to the more homogenized AKB48 stuff. Even ignoring CG, the art direction in general had a heavy shift from more unique, sharp, standout designs into more standardized across the board. Easiest way to compare is just how they went from "every character has individualized outfits" to "everyone has the same outfit but with their unit color instead and maybe switch the skirt out with shorts".

It's funny that MLs best contribution to the franchise was, not the shit to Lantis, but the shift away from Columbia.
I really can't imagine Imas continuing on without the music but that's just me. It does feel like for CGPs music is more a badge or trophy as, if you have a new solo or song, then that usually means you won something compared to ML where everyone got their own song. Having a song meant more than the actual quality of the song, if that makes any sense.
I also enjoy that this development ends where Asobinotes were the ones who reached out to Komino (or prob Sato) to be in charge of GKs music and you can really feel they had something to prove from those first batch of solos.

Anna is annoyed after going on a losing streak in Duel Masters Play. Roco notices her distress and tries to cheer her up. Anna, in a fit of rage, berates Roco's art and smacks her on the head with her Nintendo Switch 2 before storming out of the Theater.
After crossing the street, Anna realizes that she has gone too far and turns back to apologize. However, as she turned around, she sees a huge truck barreling down the street at her.
The driver swerves, but it is too late - mangled between the wheels of the truck is the corpse of Handa Roco. Roco had never actually gotten mad at Anna. She had, Without hesitation, followed behind Anna to comfort her.
Only after Roco's ultimate sacrifice does Anna realize the folly of her ways and the sincerity of Roco's friendship. She breaks down.
