Tried out the Birdseed VR demo.
Comfy cartoonish look where you take 12 photos a day of various birds. Aesthetics are pleasing and sound design is good. Playing with an open window mixed the in game sounds of the birds, waterfall and nature with the outside noises of the birds, wind and nature (especially with the lovely cooing of wood pigeons). A very simple game and one that wants you to come back to it daily, with limited pictures so it doesn't overstay it's welcome. Upgrade kit and equipment through completing in game daily challenges for currency to use in the in game store. Whatever 10-20 minutes you spend with the game is very relaxing and fun, something I'm looking forward to add to my daily repertoire when it releases. Waiting to see how long it'll take for someone to port it to a VRChat map. They plan to add more features like multiplayer in the future so may become another comfortable sitting about game like with RealVRFishing.

If you use shadows make sure your face has flattened normals. Most modern booths do this already. It is better to have light reactivity than just having a flat shaded, min-brightness, non-reactive shader. World creators do suck ass at doing lighting (especially the japs) but if you don't allow your materials to react to the world lighting you just look like you have been photoshopped in.

Best balance most of the time is subtle blurred shadows, not hard shadows but also not fully 3d looking, don't make them very dark and make them skin-toned, or tinted whatever the general color is of the mesh they are on. And as the other anon said make sure the face has custom flattened or sphere'd normals

you should use rounded instead imo. Transfer normals from a sphere is the easiest way. Flatten is usually too exaggerated of an effect unless you have hard shadows

Alternatively make a high poly sphere and use that to transfer normals like other anon said. I like using this method because the topology setting for transfer looks nicer than any of the other projection settings and a sphere isn't great with darker shadows.
