Techmarine should have been the stereotypical engineer character. He should have been about resupplying the team and providing automated cover fire. He only achieves half of that, because they already gave everybody perks to restore ammo, and Tactical the ability to restore people's grenades.

The big issue with double stomp is that the second one is too fucking slow and the first often knocks minoris it doesn't kill out of the range of the second.

With the rev cancel you can fit stomp in under the adrenaline surge block window but it's hard to use otherwise.

I'm just gonna come out and say it. The people working on this game that deserves any praise at all, 9 out of 10 situations, are animations and graphics designers. You can definitely see some love in these aspects of the game even if they fuck up some textures here and there. The rest of the game unfortunately is at the whim of a DS loving vindictive asshole who thinks he knows better and who got shoes too big to fill.

He has 1 viable build and if you don't do it you're basically fucked. You have to use the new relic grenade launcher so you have any level of horde clear on demand, you have to use the relic omni (with top row perks), you have to spam the charging attack to deal any damage (even point blank), and with any horde you have to be near a turret (preferably with the +ammo and invincibility perk) and with a boss you have to charge to apply omnis damage buff + grenade + increased damage from equipment + servo gun + main gun (with headshots) and you MIGHT deal a bit of damage. Still not better than a tact.
Its just a fucking bore. This weird meta gaming bullshit of health, armor, perks, passives, map conditions, ect ect ect boring boring boring.

His perks need work. A lot of his prestige perks are fucking insane. One of them makes you invincible for turret repair, which should just be a rule instead of even a non-prestige perk. Just like assault's iframe ground pound prestige perk...
The turrets are like noobtraps until you get that perk. By the time you make it safe enough to repair them, there's usually nothing for them to shoot, and you run passed them, and they go to waste...
Most of the time they just go to waste, because you can't place them yourself like literally every other game in existence with a turret character can do.
The omni axe feels like shit. Seems pretty strong danage-wise, but it has a really lame moveset.
The most crazy thing imo is how little you can customize him. You don't even get the bonding stud pauldron they forced bonding stud owners to reunlock. NOT even any of the brand new dlc cosmetics. The only thing you get that isnt default techmarine exclusive shit, is helmets, and there's still a bunch of them that're restricted for seemingly no other fucking reason than they probably rushed this shit out REALLY hard.

I literally am levelling my prestige through absolute with randoms using the fencing power sword, headshot bonus HBR and with the grenade+servo turret+headshots into bosses I am bringing them down to half health before a full reload. Most of the time the fight is over before I get to a turret which is always round the corner from where we are.
Even the knife on him is fine - the problem is too many of you would die on any character using non meta gear and even then you are clearly, routinely carried without understanding that you are.
Techmarine is not perfect, but its no where as shit as so many complain it is.

Its not just the bonding stud shoulders they relocked. I had all the weapon colours unlocked ages ago, and even did a round 30 push late last year to make sure they were.
This is now locked for me again. Which I only noticed because I was going to check it out with the Techmarine prestige headshots perk as an Iron Hand.

He's not far off from vanguard but vanguard also gives his entire team free HP sustain which means taking some damage while dealing with those random "fuck you" scenarios doesn't kill you. You can deal with everything but its not fun to do so until you get maxed out to do plasma-fire autogun shots

Techmarine Prestige IV Lv25 = highest skill celling class, Onissaiah Axe is God tier melee weapon but not brainlet friendly, the ability to gunstrike for free is so bullshit it has to be nerfed imho, extremely fucking tanking and near immortal even with the turret perks and good playing skills

The occulus carbine headshot version feels so good to use, such a shame that the two classes that can use it can’t regen ammo. Without ammo regen you’re dry after a big fight, really wish it was on sniper and tac. So far it seems like the new HBR with a plasma or inferno pistol are the best guns to use on tech, still not sure which melee weapon is best. The new heroic knife is very strong and you can confirm a level one shadow strike with the auto gun strikes. Balanced power axe deals very nice damage, power sword whirl spam is safer with the auto gun strikes. Big axe feels a bit clunky but the damage on the balanced one is alright. Just wish they would make balanced weapons have no start up frames on parry but with half the active frames, the delay feels awful and gets you frame trapped.

As someone who's been playing using all three types I have a suspicion bordering on certainty that fencing was the "design" melee block type from the beginning. You engage with the enemies more using that blocking type. Block and balanced must've been added to increase the variety and give people something to choose from because there's so few options in terms of making builds (especially at launch).

The most dangerous enemies on the Tyranid's side are all weak to headshot damage, yet seem highly resistant to fire damage in comparison to Chaos. Zoanthropes are a good example where this dichotomy becomes apparent. Any Tactical who has tried to burn a Zoan to death with the Pyreblaster will tell you how obnoxiously painful it is to experience.
Thousand Sons are the opposite. With the massive cluster of Chaos Spawn, dispensing a plasma-spreading wave of fire decimates the dozen of them the game loves dropping on you. The incendiary ammo also helps against the lack of synaptic feedback shock, their Minoris not nuking themselves upon the death of a Majoris. The fire spreading from target to target ensures as many kills as possible.

It's carrying on what the meltagun did in SM1 over a decade ago, they turned it into a really close range energy shotgun.
Except meltabombs in SM2 work entirely differently to the meltaguns and will instantly kill pretty much everything weaker than terminus in a large area of effect.

The text on your voice line wheel stays default when you switch voices.

For anyone like me who has been trying to figure out just exactly how far 7 meters or 20 meters is for these fucking game descriptions, a meter is apparently a centimeter. 30 meters is the Shadow of the Warp sightline, which is practically nothing. Without being able to abuse the invincibility window regarding the animations, I don't think anybody would make it to the end of the average Absolute mission. Really highlights how ass the cHP system is when the player can't regain as quickly as they lose it under normal fighting circumstances.

It's fine. I only use it on Assault, because using a Balanced weapon on Bulwark feels like ass. Bulwark does so much damage from Intimidating Aura and the shock parry perks, that fumbling Balanced's parry window is not something I want to risk for the Xenophase's mediocre extra rake damage.

Yeah you should be able to handle minoris hordes just fine without crutching on the servo gun. The real game-ending threats are terminus, extremis and large groups of majoris, which the sniper is far too good at putting down to pass up in favour of decent horde clear.

I am so tired of testing this class, everything feels like shit. The new fencing heroic knife is probably the way to go for techmarine buty its horde clear is terrible. Omni axe is a lot like knife but charging its best move takes a little longer but it also has fucking massive AOE and hits twice. Might try more testing with the fencing omni axe tomorrow idk. So one good thing has come out of the voice pack. Every single fucking Space Wolf I encounter is complete deadweight and they ALL have the voice pack and some even use the stupid dog helm.
I am yet to encounter a BT using theirs and only one Blood Angel and that guy was decent. I am talking at least a dozens wolves so far. To the point I am auto leaving/kicking if I see one. Im having fun. Any of the three gun types work, just take the select area instead of the other two final perks. Sniper + Area + Ignore smalls is pretty OP for bosses.
Best weapon is the Relic Omni, all top row, use the charging attack to get through hordes while gun striking smalls as you go for infinite armor then either run into an enemy for single target damage or press again for a good AOE + Lighting on ground. If you're in melee range, just spam the charging attack anyway, its good damage.

I've just been rocking the bottom tree for weapon talents. I'm not too big on the charge right now because I can't figure it out entirely because I can't get into a lot of games without just running solo with bots. If you bounce, you started it too close. But that also doesn't matter, you can just spam the charge up close and chain-stun + kill that enemy really quickly.
The single target attack Omnissian Rush happens if you just hold M2 while charging into an enemy. You'll automatically do a 1/2/3 stab attack depending on distance (you can see your blade flash to tell how many charges you have).
Omnissian Strike is what happens when you let go of the charge, then tap M2, you'll do a big lunge, which does good AoE damage and if you have the final perk on the top row leaves down a lightning pool.
If you're fighting a boss for example you can either just hold M2 point blank to deal damage, or if you're at a distance hold M2 and don't let go to get off three strikes. If you only get one flash on your Omni then you're probably better off doing Omnissian Strike by letting go and pressing M2 again so you get the AOE + Lightning damage.

Plasma is pretty great, while melting a neuro in one volley seems awesome (and it is) its way more useful to have plasma that can melt everything more consistently. Plus the AoE burst gunstrikes are better, especially if you're using the omni axe and charging through minoris while popping off gunstrikes.

Lot of people like the HBP because gunstrikes and being able to end reinforcement calls, but it depends heavily on what classes you play. No point in grabbing the Heavy Bolter/Plasma if you never play Heavy for example

Heroic weapons that are straight up better than relic ones:
- heavy plasma
- instigator
- sniper bolt rifle
- the new fencing knife
Thunderhammer feels as good as block relic one, but maybe it's just fun to play fencing assault.

Ditch your 2 seconds of invuln when activating a sentry and pick both stimm boost and defensive stance.
Headshot bonus is needed, not only to kill things faster but for better ammo economy something the tech marine isn't great at.
More ranged damage reduction is needed, from the top of my head other than your halberd charge you don't get any.
More restore on stims is almost always a must pick on any class.
The last slot is for furious melee gunstrike, you get a parry, attack, charge your shit, gunstrike while it's charging and boom.
Indomitable is too situational, in a lot of games you wont have sentries where you want them and also it only protects you while you are activating the turret and not during the nearly 2 seconds where you have to press E to activate the turret itself.

Just because you get 2 seconds of invuln after not having any while pressing E doesn't mean you are immune to bad luck of having several attacks (ranged or not) coming right at you and hitting you right the moment your invuln state is over, especially in absolute now that they've ramped up the spawns.

My absolute runs with the techmarine have been made a lot easier getting a guaranteed turret support with the prestige benefit.
Being able to use a turret at all is like a third of the appeal of playing the class.

To be honest drop the ranged damage reduction because every good Tech I've seen kills shit before they even take damage and your main source of defense is cheesing Iframes that your servo sets up. To say nothing of the sniper servo just being able to delete problems outright.
