I think people in this general underestimate how serious cold heart is. Most of the people who get cold hearted don't come back. Hitomi and that kid from the Scorpiomon episode only recovered because glowing dawn quickly recovered their e-pulse. Asuka is still hanging on because Hyenamon didn't digest his e-pulse and Gokumon stole the sapotama. These are unlikely scenarios. It's been established that for most people once your e-pulse is drained you are gone for good. That Izumi girl is a vegetable for life unless someone finds a reservoir of her e-pulse to bring her back to life. That place full of cold hearted humans may very well have been a cemetery. None of them had a chance to come back.

You've excluded quite a significant bit there about her family. Her dad is dead. She is the oldest child of three with the other two far younger than she is. We have to assume the okonomiyaki shop is not doing well, so she's taken it upon herself to be the breadwinner for them all. Unfortunately because she's got a Digimon and didn't hand it in, she's forced to become a Cleaner. Raito was beaten by Seraphy but Luka was offered to join in exchange for rejoining Stella. As you say, did she choose to join Tactics? Or was she forced? There's a clear distinction between the two. Force has more opening for redemption than choice.

Yeah, episode 19 was a real blunder in regards to redemption for all of Tactics really. Excluding episode 15 for obvious reasons, that's the one real weak point of the Tactics arc. The writers went too far and had to rein it in to keep the story on course. If she did put Tomoro into the coliseum, I can only see it as being the opportunity to get out of Tactics for herself.

The problem there is they would have been ordered to be security. They couldn't disobey Tactics' rules after the Commandramon blunder as they were on their last chance. Given what we now know of Tactics' real purpose, it's no surprise they followed orders. Still doesn't explain the lack of doubt. We should have seen Hotaruko and Granit worried when they were sat on Tylomon. I think the episode spent so long on Tomoro/Raito the writers simply forgot about the auction subplot. It would explain the all too convenient conclusion.

we got NightChiropmon just two eps before Arma Lizamon. Plus they might not even follow the pattern of the first cour of Tomoro being the last one to evolve. For instance it could be Reina that's the last to go up a tier this time around since to start off with, she was the only one of the main three that had hid champion before the story started, so they could spin a plot about her feeling left behind and feeling the need to do better

Raito's seen what his Tactics career has amounted to: food for Proganomon. If he isn't punished mentally by the sea of corpses then nothing will punish him.

As it stands, she's in the "following orders" camp. She's doing it because she has to. She has shown doubts, but those doubts were related to her own circumstances. Little kids? Yes, it affects her because she has younger siblings. Auction lots? No impact because they mean nothing to her.

Her redemption hasn't occurred yet. If they don't mention it in episode 22 then it's a fair claim. Imagine if Makoto does mention it but says he doesn't care. Now THAT would be interesting because it shows even the protagonists aren't morally clean, and he has admitted he's twisted. Probably got hard after she blitzed him.

The fact that Yume and Tinkermon were in the lots in the first place is an issue. She had no problem working security for that auction. And its not like it was the first one either. Klay has been running these for a while, otherwise the ministry wouldn't know anything.

I think if there was a scene of Haruko trying to calm down Yume and Tinkermon by telling her that she's going to a safe place, I think it would have helped a lot.

I noticed, hence the comment. That said, I just rewatched this bit and Hotaruko's "You won't escape" line is delivered rather angrily. Granit's expression isn't the happiest either. I wonder if because they were that committed to not being thrown out of Tactics after the previous episode, the two didn't care as long as the job was done. Still doesn't make it right but it gives some sort of explanation.
