Kyo had Cougarmon since like was 10 years old, when he evolved it into Murasamemon. Why would he be his partner if Asuka was still alive and healthy?
Besides that would mean Asuka had a Digimon way before his parents got arrested, thing that doesn't really fit the timeline, because I don't think he was a Cleaner while his parents were still with him and Tomoro.
And if Kyo knew Asuka at that point, there is no way Tomoro would have not know who Kyo was, being a childhood friend of Asuka and all. It seems they met after they got alone and Asuka was forced to work by himself.
Also, it's extremely hard to feed other Digimons besides your own with your e-pulse, if we go by Beatbreak's rules. I mean, you could do it, but you need an innumerable amount of e-pulse to "fill" them just to satisfy them for a short time, let alone for years.
Kyo would need to be an anomaly, just like Tomoro, to keep feeding Cougarmon into a Perfect and not been drained at the attempt. And if he was an anomaly, all those babies could have been Child or even Adult type by now.

1) Haruko isn't the rule, especially since she was trying to feed a brainwashed digimon
2) An old man fed a Perfect who wasn't from him, for a fairly long period of time and the only problem was old age preventing him from producing/giving too much energy.
3) Kyo is an exceptional being regardless, since he used to literally be the strongest. He also seemingly did something fishy against Naito.

Also, babies apparently need to ingest their/a sapotama to evolve. Even if they don't, I doubt you can make them evolve just by feeding them, there needs to be intent, a bond, and emotional devlopment. Granit gives so much that he's freezing his arms in next episode's preview pics and yet presumably that isn't what makes Ludomon evolve.
Yeah Hyemon did it with just a sapotama but that one was cooked with Tomoro's crazy pulse

Maybe I'm being over-dramatic, but there's something that I really want to get off my chest about Digimon and why I love it so much.

When I got into Digimon, you wanna know the feeling I felt? Relief. Relief that a monster taming franchise with better designs, stories and gameplay (occasionally) than Pokemon or some overly safe shit could exist. Relief that something with more mature themes, edgy character designs, and cool shit could exist without being relentlessly mocked as "edgy" by retarded Pokeautists. Relief that something with so much more personality, character and experimental could exist and not be the same recycled, shoveled crap over and over again.

I only got into this franchise seriously two years ago, and I think it's one I'm going to love for my whole life.

I actually was thinking about something really similar just earlier, but slightly different;

I think it might be just the Perfect who's Kyo's influence. But him constantly hanging out in Adult form could be a sign that you are right.
One thing though is that Cougarmon sleeps a lot, just like Kyo does, implying it is a reflection from him after all. However, he DID get really on guard and angry when Klay showed up, while Kyo himself was seemingly serene.

I think a normally vaccine lion line diverting to a virus lynx line makes more sense if the change in owners happened at Liollmon. More importantly though I think Tomoro should have sensed his brother in Cougarmon if he were an evolution unlocked by Asuka, and Cougarmon himself should have a far stronger reaction to Tomoro. This theory only works if Kyo's e-pulse already completely overwrote Asuka's influence to the point his origin is now unrecognizable.

There's been concern about him from the beginning. I know I'm repeating myself but I distinctly remember someone mentioning that if you didn't include him in the first 3/4 episodes, there was just one part of those episodes which would be affected. That's not a particularly good thing to read about one of the main characters.

I dropped Seekers just a few episodes in back when it was ongoing, but as an audiobook it is actually very enjoyable and surprisingly high-effort so far. Also I'm shocked at how upbeat Eiji is. Not at all what I expected from his design.

It's a bit of a weird idea because you could stretch it as him having Asuka's chip, but epulse color seems to be something unique to a given person, not their chip, since it is their own emotions and lifeforce
