the variant, variant (advanced) and criterion shit is so fucking confusing
I guess it's as follows:
- variant is the story mode branching shit with variant actions
- variant (advanced) is basically boss rush but you can choose the order and you can choose to end early if you want, can use variant actions too
- criterion is the harder version of advanced where you can not choose what bosses you fight, it's linear, you can't use regular raise but each character gets a special raise per fight
I really want them to just move away from this system honestly

advanced is basically you get to practice each individual boss. like you if you just want to practice fighting boss 1 over and over thats what this mode is for. then you can do a bunch of runs just fighting boss 2. etc.

The single most important thing missing from OC is Essences. Phantom Jobs do not in any way alter your base stats, they only give you their selection of skills to use, while Essences would allow you to buff your MCH to have the same defensive stats as a Tank role would. This meant that you could play ANY JOB and never have to rely on joining a party or be in any danger of dying to any content within the zone.

Depends on what you are. If you're H1 it's always first tower clockwise. If you're R2 it's always first tower counter-clockwise. H2 is usually clockwise and R1 is usually counter-clockwise, but H2 and R1 only have to look around at one other player apiece during the initial marker distribution phase. H2 is looking at H1 and R1 is looking at R2. If either of these players sees that the player that they're looking at did *not* get a marker, they know it's the double healer or double DPS arrangement, and that they're going backwards from their usual direction. After that it's just a matter of making it to the center of the assigned tower, or at least closer to the center than the melee is. Weaving in a Sprint partway through running the circle around the boss can help.

Liquify can help with noticeably sharp edges, but like other posts mentioned, you can go a little overboard and it can make the image look very smudged if you're not careful.
If you're starting to edit in post, I'd look up other basics like Dodge and Burn layers to help add depth or Gradient Maps to help with colors that your shaders didn't quite catch.

I do, cleared every piece of content and harder 4 mans have been very consistent in difficulty. What made criterion Savage hard was a 25min consistency check similar to ultimates, but even less room for mistakes (0 resses and every fail was instant wipe). Gradient Maps basically push the image tones depending on how bright or dark parts of the picture is. It'll go from left to right, meaning:
>Dark areas should be purple
>Middle brightness should be plum
>Light spots should be a soft cream color
You can adjust the opacity of the Gradient Map layer afterwards to choose how strong you'd like the effect.

I made a custom petal-looking shape, nothing too detailed since they'd be flowing in the background and turned it into a custom brush. You can mess with the brush afterwards to add scattering and opacity randomness which helps make it flow as you paint the general direction you want it to go towards.
