Its because the game is very much combat focused, once you've done the story there isnt much else to do that isnt directly related to combat and unit performance, CW/SU despite having fake stats still reward proper unit investment and builds, and Endgame is the semi-"sterile" (not really) serious mode to benchmark your units, thus anyone who's INVESTED into the game and wants to spend more time talking about has two venues:
>Story discussions (non-existant, only every 5-6 weeks)
>Endgame discussions
Its like how MMO threads often discuss the hardest raids and always talk about them when they drop and then the thread either dies or becomes ERP-central, giving the illusion that everyone who plays said game is either deep into raiding or is a terminal ERP freak.
The reality is that the casual audience doesn't care about either of those things, you're seeing the people who are WILLING to discuss this shit online (already a huge filter) AND are invested and want more discussion.

No, this is the correct way to balance the game. Making generic kits that work with everything is how Jingliu -> Acheron massive powerleap and Feixiao eagle infinite damage happens. Now with proper achetypes, there isn’t much difference between older ones like Break and DoT or newer hypercarry units like Phainon and Anaxa.
