Space Control is a railroaded job simulator narrative game with millennial writing about aliens and stuff, think trover saves the universe but with less stupid voices and only some swearing. Watch the trailer for the feel or try the demo for the first bit. I just spent most of it staring at the petite blue AI lady they give you who either lives on your wristwatch or sits around in the environment.

I've got a soft spot for 4WD hatchbacks this week, so we're doing WRC cars in a small, twisty but also straight enough Japanese Hero Sinoi circuit. Short laps, fun small clown cars, high acceleration.

Winter is ending, and as a last goodbye let's visit a Latvian countryside on a snowy track, just driving around, drifting and spinning out!

Some things just don't translate well to vr either, but it would a cool concept to play crusty old jrpgs, grandpa gsgs, or boomer shooters natively in vr but that's just a pipe dream. I couldn't imagine playing vr games every single day over flat games, pc gaming and the ability to just chill at your desk with multiple monitors is just way too unbetable an experience.

Maybe if you're only playing relatively slow paced multiplayer fps. Plenty of genres don't even work in VR. And anything singleplayer focuses too much on trying to justify actually putting a headset on to play it that it's a completely different experience from flat games that are entertaining in spite of the standard controls. there is a few really great vr rpg's and soul likes. idk what a gsg is. boomer shooters also translate well into vr, try quake3vr with us sometime.
its actually an interesting thing with quake because its one of the few games i feel like i could do much better on a mouse, due to physical movement being a hard cap and you're never gonna be as nimble as your sole hand. but no anon i think far more games have been ruined for me rather than not. pretty much the one game genre safe from this is strategy games. and i guess maybe arcade racing games.

there's actually quite a lot of rpgs set in the medieval times in vr, all utilizing motion controller combat. some games are susceptible to wagglan though, like dungeons of eternity being wagglan heavy and that being the meta. but games like legendary tales are anti wagglan as there is a cool down on how fast you can deal damage. another game that has excellent (but with a slight learning curve) melee combat is skydance's behemoth.
its quite surprising how well melee translates to VR as one would think vr only works well with firearms.

also quake is sometimes played at the friday vrfps lobbies.

Quake 1 at least is way harder to play in VR, especially with how balls to the walls some maps are. While you don't need perfect accuracy due to the lack of a railgun, I can't bunny hop around or 180 easily. Weapon switching through all 8 slots on the fly sucks too. I'm working on a weapon wheel to make it more bearable though. IMHO a lot of OG Quake is taking in the atmosphere, especially with mods that are more form over function (Brutalist Jam 3) so VR is still a good fit even if it doesn't play as well.

Unlocking weapons has become a lot more "grindy" as you have to complete multiple delves to get weapon parts, upgrading your weapons has also changed so you now need a new upgrade crystal resource next to the beast blood.
Beast blood is now a lot more plentiful, you get 5 from killing the end boss once and it multiplies depending on your loop/new game+ number.

2024 is better for world explo but 2020 has infinite amount of mods including literal land and camp with cooking minigame. 2020 is still much better game when it comes to content if you don't mind sacrificing 500GB or more of your disk space but 2024 definitely looks and performs better.

Deck building is hard, you should play with a pre made deck to see how it plays, then how you win/lose, red aggro, like hot dogs or tokens could be a good idea.
There is also no sideboard yet, so alot of counters for different styles can't be sideboarded in, like graveyard hate. Nobody runs graveyard hate in maindeck so dredge goes from instant lose to stomping all over kek.

Hello, today at 19:00CET (3h40 from now) I will host a "YosaVR" dancing session.

"YosaVR" is the combination of "Yosakoi" and VR. Yosakoi is a (modern) japanese folk dance style, which often relies on using accessories.
With "YosaVR", we aim to actively learn dance routines; first we'll learn some actual yosakoi routines, but I'm planning to eventually mix it with other types of dances/songs later on.

I might do training on Yamato Damashi after the session.
Please note that dancing is an intense physical activity, so there will be a bit of warmup/stretching before we start, if you join late I strongly advise you take a few minutes warming up before starting to dance.
