They're probably in a much better state than when you initially tried them. Before the most recent support wave, they got Lacrima of Light to pretty heavily boost their consistency (both effects can be duped by Genni without having to meet their activation conditions) and the new support gives them more redundancy in setting up their standard endboard.

Terracottan's in-hand effect is heavily restrictive in that it strictly locks your ED into Witchcrafter after it summons itself, but gives you a consolation if your opening play gets ash'd. At worst, you go into Vice Madame and set up a mediocre board. At best, you summon nu-Rilliona at the end of your turn and flood your field with monsters. It's a decent enough 1of, but a low-priority card that you can afford to cut. It can also substitute Cartesia as an extra fusion vector, which also frees up cards in the main deck that would normally be going towards Cartesia's package.

During your turn, the new Field Spell lets you dump spell/traps from your deck (as cost) when you would discard. Not OPT. Makes stuff like Patronus and the new Counter Trap semi-conveniently searchable since there are multiple in-house cards (VM, Terracottan, Potterie) that can put them in your hand.

Nu-Rilliona is a nice backup plan but is ultimately weaker as a boss than Vice Madame. But the point of Nu-Rilliona is explosive advantage. It's alright, maybe a 1of at best.

The new Fusion spell spins cards from your GY/Banishment back into the deck, or can alternatively be used for removal (you need to self-pop but Bystreet protects your cards)

Search 4 but then it's either the original Charmers which are GX era FLIP monsters or the Channelers which in theory wouldn't seem too bad, but in practically searches locking you to a single Attribute in a multi-Atrribute deck is a bad idea and their other effects aren't enough for them to work.

Poly on legs, since regular Polymerization is a LEGEND card and the normal Rush equivalent (Fusion) can only use monsters that are on the field, so the change slimes let you actually make the fusions a bit easier.
Later on Gaia and Red-Eyes got better in-series fusion cards or monsters but the slimes were used early on.
