Cause tanks rivals are pretty much all garbage. They're all too squishy and do too little damage (except thor maybe in damage).
Tanks are literally not a threat. Just shoot them and they die and do nothing. People are so scared of shooting tanks cause they're used to other games where you're supposed to ignore tanks and focus on backlines, but that's not how you should play rivals. Shoot a tank and they melt.
Venom, hulk, thing, strange, magneto, groot, all of them, you should shoot them and they die and can't do shit. Not even remotely a threat.

Yeah, their shields are best used selfishly as a parry tool that must be conserved unless there's an ult to deny or there is literally an ally back pedalling that needs the shield to make it to safety for heals. Any piece of cover is much better to absorb shots than your own resource.

If you can CC and secure the kill yes, if you the enemy healer is in range and pumping them full of heals, no.

No decent tank will engage your team in such a way that there is too much damage that they can react to. If a Venom escapes with 1 fuckin HP, he's going to reset within 5s of a healer pumping his dick behind cover.
If you can reach and shoot the enemy healer to force them to take cover or even better, kill them, the enemy tanks in your backline will melt much more quickly then focusing on them on first dive. Just CC them first and judge who can die first before committing.

In Practice your "squishies" are heroes like Punisher with his shotgun, Elsa with 2s cd dashes + bonus hp and % based damage, Phoenix that can just teleport and fly to kite you while spamming damage, Bucky which rapes you with his cc, damage and bonus hp, Rocket that does almost 200 damage per second against a tank and shit.

I woke up early today, played a couple matches, and I ran into a player
who was antagonizing my team and went out their way to directly address me the second the match started. I carried the game despite his half-assed attempt to soft-INT on support and rage bait. And I just played against him, and he got absolutely booty blasted. I'm 100% certain that this particular player lurks 4chan because he was so unpleasant and his entire vocabulary consisted of 4chan reddit lingo. I dont want to say that he's a regular in this general but I do find it incredibly suspicious that he called me by a nickname that I've only seen here.
