idk if it matches based on stats per se. i have not noticed that. i think they just give you more rank points based on whether you are performing better/worse vs the average player on that hero (same metric as ace status), and then multiplying your rank change based on that. so naturally that means that one-tricks get boosted beyond where they should be, versatility players get shafted a little bit, and tank players suffer the most because your ace as a tank is most dependent on how well your team is doing (so you may as well switch off of tank in a losing game and try to pad your stats). not to mention that the whole idea of "ace" is flawed to begin with, because stats don't win games, winning games wins games, and there's no real way to measure that by someone's actions without extremely involving machine learning or some shit like that

i suspect they are falling in all the same pitfalls as most other competitive game devs where they hear complaints about the matchmaking, so they try to overengineer the metrics and matching principles to to the point that the players' chances of winning individual matches deviate more and more from the players' ranks. if anything, they should be removing as many of the other matching principles so that rank points are divvied up correctly and players reach their true ranks as quickly as possible. that's what actually creates balanced matches in the long run, not fudging the rank gains for players because "buh buh my kd"

the only thing they SHOULD have done to improve matchmaking (imo) was introducing behavior score like dota, and basically using that as the other rating to match players with. basically, if you throw or grief so much that no one likes playing with you, then you get to play with others like you.

This morning I was playing a really close game and our OTP Jeff crashed out and alt-f4d because like 3 people including myself were telling him to swap to Rocket when he was dying nonstop to Hulk, Spider-Man, and Black Panther.

Rogue has the worst ult in the game and I'm tired of pretending that isn't the case.

She is a tank but her ult doesn't enable any of her teammates, it doesn't protect her, and 99% of the time its useless because she gets her ult too slowly so you'd only ever be using it on enemies that have already spent their ult.

Its weaker than DDs ult, why doesn't her ult reduce or remove her cooldowns???

There's usually a reason you start losing. Most common I think for low level players is you go almost deathless and steamroll with momentum for that first section and then one person on your team dies. It takes a bit for the rest of the team to die, in worst case they slowly get picked one by one, and then when everyone respawns they immediately hold W to the objective without regrouping. Usually I get ok teams, or teams where the weak link is healers. People who stay 100 m away from tanks, or that ult the moment they get it even when it's not needed, or that conversely HOLD ULT until their team start dying. But now I'm seeing more terrible dps, diver who die 5 times in a row turning half the match into a 5v6, or that won't push up even when healers ult, or that will panic ult despite half their team being dead and just completely wasting it. Black Widow has been straight dogshit being the worst hero in the game for every single season in a row since launch with only desperate wanna be different autists saying otherwise. This is also the super spy character with 100,000 gadgets for every scenario.

You can also get Loki's pilon ability from his clones, it doesn't have to be the real Loki. It makes it pretty reliable and since it's such a big heal it should also be a top tier choice.
Also you get your shift dash cooldown refreshed if someone would only give you the passive, so its never nothing.

All the speculation will be at an end once the final gallery card hits.

What's everyone's gameplan for Black Cat this Friday? From what I roughly eyeball, her damage and sustain is dogshit for a diver. Even if you spend $$ to do claw whips and teleport strikes, that just puts you on par with Daredevil/BP with no profit. If it turns out she really is more powerful, then she'll be quickly nerfed due to her other utility value of obseleting the other divers.


So that basically leaves how to spend the $$$ that you farmed from either being a pussy grappling tanks or from each of your failed dives. These 6 items are;

1) Tablet Gacha (100): Random amount of $ gained, probably a meme trap. Do the Hakari dance if you hit Jackpot though.
2) Faltine Wallhack (100): Good to throw out constantly but effectiveness depends on the team and doesn't help with your dive to get $$$.
3) Helm of Hades (200): 2s invisibility means this item is overpriced joke and only used in an emergency.
4) Portal ring (200): Situational, might justify just farming money safely to help your team move constantly past chokepoints.
5) Anti-CC crystal (200): Luxury insurance for your medicore dives.
6) Namor Fish (200): Seems to be the most OP but this makes you a filthy grounding CC fish spammer for your team.

Unless a kill combo is found, I don't think Black Cat is killing shit and would be relegated to annoying utility spam on your team.

Not him and people can trip sup if they want to but I continue to feel the community has deeply mischaracterized Ultron as a DPS support. He only has one damaging ability, his primary fire, and his ult has the highest healing per second of anything in the game. He is really not that good at shitting out damage, and has a shockingly close damage falloff on his shots.

He is, in my opinion, a strong utility support and a brawl enabler. Because the drones heal everyone around them, if the team is grouped up he can easily get the top healing badge and that's without counting the shield generation, which also goes out to everyone near the drones. He is also extremely survivable except vs a small set of heroes and is difficult to dive.

His ult is also best used during a brawl, and will pretty much guarantee you win the fight, but outside of that it can be used to force a pick, save the team OR hard-counter several ults.

He is absolutely terrible in certain comps but potentially best in slot for others, even in 2sup. The world just hasn't noticed yet because everyone's stuck on thier expectations from his launch. And because this game has trained everyone to expect healers to make you immortal

I have seen Ultron get comparable healing to double support but all that advantage is shutdown by a single MK or SG spamming into your team clustered together. He has drone utility and buffs but that's like a single decision every 12s.

90% of the time what differentiates a good Ultron from a bad one is positioning and whether he is actually sniping the enemy healers with his laser.

He is absolutely not double support material except if your team is hard diffing the enemy.
