>>2288491 yeah i felt that way too but here we are, perhaps a little bit early but i also wanted to get my cool image as the thread opener because i worked really hard on it (3 minutes) as much as i hate this fuckin game im gonna keep playing it because it's fun for SOME reason and i can't really figure out why. but whatever waiting for grom to drop for non paypigs if anything... looks very fun honestly
>>2288527 Grom does look pretty nice, but it doesn't give me enough of an urge to reboot into windows. I saw some news the other day that EA is allegedly working on getting their useless anticheat working on Linux, this kind of game would be perfect to play for half an hour here and there on the Deck.
>>2288621 I didn't pay any money but happened to have 1100 SVB from all the free shit we've been given and finally caved (partially due to just wanting the suit because I'm not expecting any good cosmetics coming to the store soon and black socks possibly part of an event, hopefully I don't regret it next season if it has a better pass)
The island is OK but getting around the island can be quite tedious without fast travelling, mostly just feels like a small mega park with a few things tacked on. If this wasn't paywalled at all I think skate could have gotten a lot of good rep but man this update like legitimately pretty much ALL the content is just tied to the isle of grom so free to play get jack shit in terms of content for a whole month.
I also saw that there's an extravert store on grom so at some point they'll add boxes here too which will be a pain for f2p players who have to practically pay double for those boxes.
>>2289360 I mean, the game both fell up hard but got better at the same time. There's nothing much to discuss besides shitting on EA and sharing clips.
>>2289374 Yeah like I've said before I don't think there's anything wrong with a slow thread for a game like this, especially with such slow development. Of course when it was new it had a lot of discussion. But that's why we settled on /vm/, a thread lasting 3 months here is pretty normal, a quarter or more of the catalog is older than our last thread.
>>2289402 >>2289412 I really think they will put something else there simply because it's too suspicious and because they obviously took flak for it, like the stadium in SV.
>>2289413 Maybe there's a plan for it, it definitely is weird that they went out of their way to crack the door just for there to be fuck all in it. Maybe a community park for Grom? Or the grom event in April will use it?
>>2289426 No idea, but it makes sense. Theoretically Grom needs a community park and I don't really see anywhere else that would fit one. Also, in SV the Gullcrest one is being used only for indoor parks, at least up to a couple days ago (haven't checked since I haven't left Grom).
>>2289435 That was only the first couple days in Gullcrest I think, they've been using more of the area since then. Though sometimes it's pretty sparse like today (though the far side from this pic has a bit more than the side I'm on and back).
>>2289458 >pad with nothing, not even a funbox, in front of two quarter-pipes and then other two quarters on the other side calling bronson to send gravette there
>>2289360 yeah, fun times, i was recording shit constantly and clipping things pretty much every day. i still do leave OBS running when i play but i now have nearly 200k random clips of shit i havent done anything with also, trying some stupid shit with hippie jumps here, its really finnicky
>>2288642 It does make me wonder what their plans are for the extravert boxes, since each district was progressively more pricey. Will grom boxes cost like 2k rip chips? It'd take an eternity to get through the catalogue, even for those of us with a massive stockpile of chips.
>>2289941 I hope they just apologize and ditch the lootboxes. Just let people pick and pay the items with chips. The lootbox system does not make sense or work for this game.
>>2289961 Everything there has wallride magnetism (which I will forever blame for this kind of retardation). The game does not know what to do with you.
>>2289959 The current incremental lootbox design just seems awfully shortsighted. A bit difficult to believe that not a single developer at Full Circle didn't realize this. Almost like they expect the game to kick the bucket fairly quickly. Proper smash and grab with the mtx shop
>>2289971 I am fairly sure that's on Cuz Parry. He spent all these years between Skate 3 and this thing at Exploding Barrel games, a mobile vidya company especialized in mtx garbage. He 100% offered to monetize the game in a very retarded way.
I'm sitting at 223k ripchips because I refuse to get all that garbage.
>>2289988 Yeah if Cuz wasn't there everything would be sunshine and rainbows. Everyone knows the narrative designer or whatever gay position he has makes all the executive decisions on a game.
>>2290044 Brother (hermano? idk no hablo espanol), have you seen the board meeting videos and all that shit? Pic related is of course the most egregious example but is definitely not the end of it. The types of people they have in key positions like Head of Creative and whatnot are wildly out of touch in a way that actually makes Cuz almost look cool in comparison. If you really want to roast Cuz for something it'd be the absurdly gay and tacky San Vansterdam / M-Corp storyline, the writing for the characters in the game, etc.
>>2290082 Бpaт (comrade? idk, don't speak english), I did. IMO that's not even the worst one. To me, it's the tranny Alice (pic related, despite the gameplay being arguably the only objectively good thing in the game) and Yolanda He, the user experience designer, aka tranny croptop machine. I hate Cuz because he lied, simple as.
>>2290122 I guess I should get my ESL-isms straight, sorry. But yeah no real hate it just weirds me out because Cuz is also the only name I see mentioned outside of here as well and it's like.. look who's in the actual key roles like producers (who would be the ones in charge of overall direction, high level decisions like monetization, work prioritization, etc), head of creative (art style, what clothes etc get into the shop), senior gameplay designers (the gay challenges and tasks, mobile gameplay loop) etc. All the people at the highest level are out of touch faggots, moreso than even Cuz. It's a shame because through the videos there were a few people that did seem pretty cool but never in very influential roles. At least Cuz was involved in skateboarding. These cunts probably think a slappy is a high-five.
Hurricanes and all the twisty grinds like that are hard in this game. Feebles alone are pretty hard because the game just wants to suck you into boardslides and blunts.
>>2290925 The tutorial island you're in on a fresh account during the tutorial doesn't have the new stuff, they made sure to get rid of any free ways to play the new stuff.
>>2291880 There's the drainage ditch that's always been there, the new spillway spits you out into it. It's pretty good as far as my kinda-bad-at-vert opinion goes.
>>2290935 Didn't answer my question >>2291885 Not sure why this is but this halfpipe feels like ass, I don't know how it all works here but feels like pumping on this thing doesn't work as well as that one halloween park's halfpipe did
>>2291889 that really tight transition sucks to pump on, it looks just like that bowl at Rolling Waves nobody rides in because it's such a pain to pump in. when the transition is that tight, the pump window is also very tight and you don't get nearly as much speed from it. even if you do it perfect you only get about half as much air as you do out of the other bowl with the tombstone.
Fuckin goofy ass game >>2291889 One weird thing about the ditch pipe is that the flat isn't flat, it's just a more mellow transition. I have a feeling it's doing some weird shit to make off-timed pumps more punishing than normal or something, like instead of registering as being off by like 2% from the transition you're trying to pump, it's taking it as you being way off from the shitty transition at the bottom. Plus the main transition is just tight and hard to time anyway.
>>2292896 >TF2 in the name there's your answer right there i also play a fuckton of tf2. but i think the difference is i dont actually romanticize and hold the game up on a pedestal like most of the """"community"""" does, i genuinely think it's dogshit.
when are they gonna fix the replay stutters god damn it
testing script changes for reencoding, nvenc for encoding (nvidia accelerated). instead of reencodings taking up to 5 minutes, it's done in 6 seconds lmao (for negligible quality diminishment)
>>2292896 I'm all for fun speed glitches like using spread eagle but god who the FUCK actually likes the stupid meme super jump, I fucking hate these "trickline" fags, woah bro you basically just spamming every flip trick variant into a manual and it gives you tons of easy points ok cool but does it look good? no it all looks ass and all looks the same, I would take the people doing christ air through the church window over these fuckers any day.
>>2293344 It's because of those faggots that we will never get a fun or good game of S.K.A.T.E. >always land 'common' tricks because there are not enough difficulty options >nigger just blasts a 360 inward 360 hardflip endless heel tucknee xD
>>2294259 >>2294274 Yeah, pretty sure it's bait and the plain black socks will be free. A LOT of people were pestering them since day 1 for them, they cannot take another hit like this.
>because I didn't actually LOOK at the weekly challenge menu before doing the seasonal events, none of the goals counted for the challenge menu I'm buying a plane ticket to Vancouver, and I'm gonna glass every single one of the Full Circle devs
>>2294588 the 'grind gap' one in Gullcrest is a pile of trash. half the time the nosegrinds don't even register, the game interprets it as a feeble or smith. the little ledge you have to double grind is so short you have to hit it at a very specific speed for the game to recognise you actually grinded it. and then for the final checkpoint it wants you to gap off the funbox to the walkway below, but there's a planter and some trees in the way so there's no way to land cleanly without putting a drop object like plywood down there and hope for the best when you make a blind leap of faith. and hope you can check your speed enough when you land that you don't get hung up trying to turn back for the final checkpoint and miss the timer.
>>2294601 yeah that one is hell and the nose slide blunt side in the same park too, you need speed for the noseslide to stick otherwise you just get off at the slight turn
>>2294607 that one I got to work by putting a small kicker in front of the ledge. made it easier to get up onto it for the nose slide, which let me keep my speed up.
>>2294588 Did most of them fine, had to put grind assist to 100 because for some reason was completely unable to grind on those rainbow rails, I gave up on the tailslide to bluntslide though, gave me nightmares of that one tix challenge where you had to tailslide onto a ledge after a nosegrind that was basically impossible to do.
>>2294877 try the kicker trick I suggested earlier. it helps keep your speed up and carry you through the curve. I'd suggest doing the flip trick onto the nose slide ledge, rather than in the gap between the two grinds. or do it as you exit the blunt.
why is every BP clothing dedicated to girl characters These pants look really good but in what world is a male gonna wear these, also there are like 3 crop top shirts
>>2295941 Yeah man skate players don't want cool shit for guys in their skate game it's only coomer trannies, how retarded are you? Only bad thing is that the girls get the cool stuff when it should be the reverse
>put some rails on the water gap half pipe at the gullcrest community park >infinitely more skateable, within five minutes get a dozen people all jamming on it at once
>>2293259 holy shit, I figured out a hacky way to get them to work if you do the input for a salad stall on a QP lip, but angle yourself ever so slightly in the direction you put the setup input for, you will actually do a feeble grind for about 2-3 feet. the angle is extremely precise though, if you're too much of an angle the game will glitch and throw you off your board or do a nosegrind instead.
did they fix all the replay editor and export bugs yet? deleted the game at the start of december. >>2295908 there's no such thing as girl cloths for girl skaters. and thats powerful. it's so powerful.
Patch coming Tuesday to fix a couple things they broke with Season 3. >>2299605 No. I think it varies based on system a lot. I get pretty bad stutters in the preview but exporting is mostly good. My PC is pretty old and shit at this point too so I don't think it's necessarily just how strong your hardware is. Only got softlocked in the replay editor a few times total before s3, have had it happen twice since. They did change the interpolation between keyframes imo for the better and clean up some of the janky bugs that happened with them. https://streamable.com/81qq2c Shit clip but example of export quality.
>>2299960 thats a nice fucking clip mate for reference im on a 5070ti and yeah for some reason the game would absolutely cook my system, and exporting always fucked up - if i could even get through trimming a replay before it locked up.
>>2299999 Nice quints and thanks, wasn't trying to do some woman/gay compliment fishing shit. I wanted to clean up the back smith and do it without the awkward squat on the way out so I didn't bother with filming it well. It's a really fun spot though. I'm on a 1080ti and an i7-8700. Not that my experience is crazy smooth but it is weird how my (at this point) old shitbox handles this seemingly better than some decent quality modern builds. Fuckin' cursed state of game development.
>>2301429 i originally wanted to just dismount to the right after the grind to avoid hitting the sign (and slamming) but what actually happened adds style points so whatever i guess 300+ attempts i didn't really count. i'm tired, going to sleep now i'll throw the rest of the attempts that were somewhat successful into a video when i wake up
>>2310379 honestly i find you can kind of control how much air you get by how much you tweak the sticks around, takes a bit of feeling out but it's controllable to a degree. you can ultra-low pop tricks if you try hard enough
>>2311014 yeah but I'd rather just have physics that aren't cartoonish garbage with how much shit has been done with skate 3 modding, maybe someone will port san vanelona or whatever the fuck as a map
>>2311608 yes, skate 3 hardcore is more fun and less cartoonish than any settings in skate whatever, I will leave this dying thread to its life support
and BS. your guy only holds the proper vert stance for about a half second before pulling himself up onto the flat and sliding it out like a normal street grind. do it even slightly at the wrong angle and your guy just explodes into a ragdoll.
New Session roadmap. Throwdown animations at long last. Kinda lame that's a flagship feature for the year's roadmap, skate games are kinda bleak to be honest. Good to see the game's still getting updates, hopefully the "fluidity" update is significant.
you are now aware of the fact the only reason Flick-It exists is because EA were experimenting with analogue flick controls in all their sports games in 2006-2007 Madden, Chel, and MVP Baseball all have similar flick controls on the right stick
>>2313203 Yes and no. The NHL games were technically the innovators as they were the first sports game release to have them. But even before that got to market Skate was already in development with the flick it controls, both studios came up with the idea independently. It was only after the success of those two that EA started pushing it on all their sports games, my favorite was when they nuked their NBA franchise forever because in trying to implement the controls there they created probably the shittiest basketball game ever.
>>2313212 and the first EA games to have those controls began development in 2005 (the 06 games were launched in 2005, sports games used to be a year ahead), the same time as Skate. despite them being different studios, they all had the same parent and were clearly told to incorporate certain features. that's why Chel, NBA Live, MVP, and FIFA (EA Vancouver) had all the same UI elements and gameplay mechanics as Madden and NASCAR (EA Tiburon). Brand Synergy, and all that.
>>2312511 >skate games are kinda bleak to be honest. It's rough. I can appreciate Session but I kinda gave up when they cancelled transitional skating. Sure, they have no budget, but it's a bad look when they're focusing so much on DLC when they don't even have an animation to get on your board yet.
hate how stiff and robotic characters look when doing grabs and grinds even THPS on the PS1 knew to put little tweaks in the character movements to make it look more realistic. the absolute worst offender of this is Airwalks; your guy looks like he's a frozen snapshot
>>2323369 even in THPS the guy holds the 'real' stance for about a second before he starts walking once the game realises you have enough air to maintain it. and they clearly did that because they knew holding a static pose would look unnatural.
I wish we could set up grabs before we get air. not just backside and frontside grabs, but everything feasible. like, hold down on the right stick (Ollie setup) and then hit L2 or R2 to nosegrab or crail on the ground. it would also make a good system to tie handplants into. change what handplant you do based on what grab you're doing when you hit R1.
>working on a replay's keyframes of some trick that was incredibly hard to land >get disconnected for some reason mid workflow yeah fuck you im just recording previews i guess thank god i had the prescience to actually DO that before trying to fuck with keyframes, but really, fuck EA. why the fuck drop me while i'm mid replay editing genuinely have never felt so fucking mad in my life
>>2351253 Apparently night time on grom for the event, kinda neat hopefully it's just testing or something for night time in the main map too but this studio does make some of the most retarded decisions ever seen in a game.
>Nike marketing using "support your local" as a slogan ???? Night vibes are nice, shame it's only in grom and only for the rest of the season but hopefully they bring it in as a full feature soon. Pump house on grom is changed. It's just empty now. Bunch of Nike SB stuff in shop obviously. Sci-fi Fantasy spotlight. Some free Skate branded shirts.
What the FUCK are these awful challenges, they're practically broken, I am NOT subjecting myself to this shit did some fucking pajeet create these and not actually play through them?
haven't played in about a month. why does the game feel so strange? at least you can reliably land flatground 360s again. for a while there you could only manage a 180 even with the prewind.
Dogshit game, why did the challenge count as completed while in air Also damn the game actually put a good song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBq3GVx6w7Y
damn they even added some earth day freebies i feel like they're doing a good job with the game lately but it's too late, only a full release with an actual good game behind can save it
I don't know how people can play Skate 3 for hundreds of hours, figuring out all sorts of glitches and even developing mods for the game, and yet never learn how to actually play it. they always do the same four tricks >tail walk, benihana, Ollie south, late shoveit
*watches my clip, rudely yaps about other ppls clips entire time barely paying attention* "Nooo!! You cant use camera angles like that in a skating game..just because alright!!"
"i dig the vibes tho" t-thanks.
meanwhile everyone else loved it and understood exactly what i was going for. something goofy lighthearted and more like a movie trailer.
*next clip is the 9658th person who films 'realistically' like kev in a skateboarding video game* "Muh holy realismrino!! This guy definitely skates irl!!"
*sees me seshing an out of the way spot w the crew and steals it for a short that he names sum tryhard shit like "how real skaters play skate" (cringe)*
>Season 4 >finger flips >more paid maps >You need to buy a seperate ticket to go to the the paid map meaning if you want to visit all 3 maps you would need to buy a 24 hour pass to each location >new location is half the rip chips cost of isle of grom which kinda may imply its much smaller (why not add it to the base map then? (oh right money)) >returning challenge type >more map touchups (who really cares at this point? just add more to the map)
>>2407733 >Braddock: A new area… can you tell us more? >Mike: Noooope! We’re going to let the rumor mill spin a bit longer. We can say that it is in San Van. >Deran: We’ve seen some chatter online, and some of you are in the ball park…
>>2407729 >1500 SVB from completing premium pass Genuinely a good change, though it does seem like it'll take a lot of chores to get it all. Genuinely never thought they'd even make it break even, let alone let you give 500 extra. >>2408524 >ball park Nah it's probably the stadium. I know these retards are constantly outdoing themselves but I really doubt they're going to put up invisible walls around Brickswich.
I've spent my welfare SVB but anyone that's held on is as much of a winner as you can be as a player of this shit game. Free premium passes until EoS for anyone with 1000+ SVB from handouts. Or I guess 750 since you get 250 from the free pass.
>>2410034 Kicking myself since i used my free svb to buy this the pass this time round for the suit and now only have 600 svb, will miss out on the next pass.
They must have done something to the game because as of 3-4 days ago every time I attempt to launch the game it turns the screen black and crashes my entire PC, updating drivers did fuck all.
>try to laserflip >hit quick impossible >try to pop shuv >hit quick impossible >try any remotely complex trick >hit quick impossible >try to do endless impossible monthly challenge >slowest impossible known to man I hate these things so fucking much its unreal. Do I have retard thumb, or is the impossible input just insanely finnicky?
there really should be some sort of "hold button to toggle tricks" prompt when grinding on rails. try to spin out of a grind and you pull an impossible and eat shit when the board clips the rail
>>2432908 same, i wanna do ollie late shuv and 90% of the time i get impossible i wanna disable that shit even though i think it's a cool trick but the input overrides way too much
>>2435299 Development of this game is so sad, they had a lighting update and then abandoning the changes they made because they suddenly paid attention to everyone telling them they wanted day and night cycles, baffling they ignored this for so long. So much time gets put into all this aesthetic crap rather than fucking content and it seems the current trend is just for them to add a new trick every season and lock some new area of the map behind a paywall. So little will have been added in the course of a year.
why do you suppose we pull our phones out before starting a challenge? is there some sort of skater forum that has spots and challenge goals listed? is someone texting these goals to us? where the fuck is the world building?
>>2459005 >oh my Nike don't care. if we're getting collaborations, I want to be cool shit. get real skaters to challenge us to recreatetheir film parts, or outdo their parts, or beat them in a game of SKATE. get stuff like the Chin ramp and EMB in the daily rotationoff community spots. get Faith from Mirror's Edge in to give us parkour challenges. and give us maid uniforms.
>>2455598 It is incredibly grim that we're getting youtuber content. I don't want a hat with some youtuber's logo on it, but unfortunately there's probably enough 12 year olds who do. At least a lot of the dumb stuff in previous games was in the context of Danny Way or Rob Dyrdek's brand of bullshit.
The worst part is that these challenges are mostly pure luck, waiting for the physics to flip a coin and decide if you land it or not. Except for the OTL which is a grind tutorial? Fucking weird all around and a bad sign of things to come.
>>2462378 the only one that seems to rely on physics exploits is the megaramp one, because you have to hope the game gives you the precise right angle and speed to land on the dock. the other ones I tried seemed easy enough to repeat. especially the one where you divebomb into the pipe, that was trivial. I haven't tried the 'manual the roof' one yet.
>>2468421 >I haven't tried the 'manual the roof' one yet. That's the main one I meant, unfortunately. The ramp up is in a very weird place and it seems the main trick is to hope you get enough height to grind the roof then change into a manual. I simply do not have the time for such bullshit.
>place ramp at bottom of Grom mega ramp, launching unsuspecting people to the moon >delete ramp after people take off from it, causing them to faceplant into the ground we do a little trolling
I think I've gone mad. I would swear on my life that I did a 360 shoveit and held it earlier today, so the board kept spinning with the 360 shuv speed. I landed and it said something like '720 FS 360 Shove'. I have NEVER gotten held 360 shuvs to work before, and I have been trying for the last 20 minutes to try and replicate it and can't. am I hallucinating?
>>2485896 I didn't spin, though. I had just ollied off the top of a wall and was trying to do a held laser flip and scooped too much causing the 360 shove input
>>2490068 spent 30 drunken minutes finding the asshole in the slippers. started trying to film clips only to realize that the replay feature is still horrendous and i have no clue how to utilize keyframes even if it wasnt busted. i was gonna go for a reference to that girl "yeah, right!" clip with owen wilson and everything
>They're moving the Hedgemont community park allegedly because people weren't skating in it so and also because they cant code for shit >new location is even more remote so people will be less likely to skate in them >they're also making the community parks smaller because people apparently like them (they just want to do less work) God I love how almost every feature or change they make is usually just tweaking something or putting in less effort while making it look different.
>>2493683 That begs the question. Do they have Halo 3 heatmaps showing exactly where people tend to group up? Because I've hardly seen anyone skate a single community park regardless of district save for the gullcrest dime park we had in the pre-season.
My old 1080ti setup chugs a lot streaming this game to my new Windows-less PC... it's over for me you guys. Unless EA actually puts their anticheat on linux which I'm not actually holding my breath for. So important for a skate game with no competitive modes.
>>2516850 At what resolution are you playing? 1080ti should be able to handle it. Anyway I am waiting for them to make it run on Linux too. Can't be fucked to boot into Windows for this game and it would be the perfect 'eck game.
>>2518817 Probably pretty stupid for the card but 1440p. I'm not sure if maybe some mid-season update changed things but it was running mostly pretty good when I played actually on the PC. I think it's just the extra load of streaming it via Sunshine so I can stay on my new PC.
>>2513337 >plaza Go to the stage and do body flips >letter shaped pillars The retarded twin towers. There was an objective where you had to drop into a bridge connecting the two and then do the retarded eagle into a building, you have to skate in said bridge.
Also the parking lot one is indeed bugged, my solution was placing a small ramp near the dumpster from the street into the alley and griding it.
>fingerflips >matchmaking has been abandoned >hedgemont community park moved, the original location is fucking barren now >tiny new paywalled area Everything else is just cosmetic slop or pointless crap like friend codes, this is pretty grim
>session markers on lips for drop-ins >"improvements to onboard steering" - "improved leaning due to changes in direction" >pedestrian dialogue Some really small but nice things in my opinion. Game's development is slow as shit man it's kinda crazy how little there is in a quarterly update.
>>2522318 They have little to no money left so they're cancelling anything that requires any thought or effort. Lets cancel matchmaking because its easier to just use our existing toolkits to shit out more cosmetics
Haven't played since launch. Did they add text chat, voice chat, grouping or any kind of incentive for playing with other humans? I couldn't stand how isolated it felt for an online game.
>>2519709 sometimes i forget that this game is in early access, i hope the game doesnt shut down before 1.0. the fact that this game is on current gen and last gen consoles gives me hope that a healthy chunk of people are playing >>2526196 proximity chat is "in development" like it says here >>2522318
>>2526869 early access doesn't mean today what it did ten years ago. nowadays all it is is an excuse for game devs to launch games in an unfinished state so they can start rolling in the cash sooner. make no mistake, it launched as v1.0 last summer.
>>2527016 yeah early access was for indie devs that needed funds to allow them to replace their day job in order to work on their game full time, early access has lost all meaning. i guess i meant "1.0" in a spiritual sense. Basically stuff that should have been in the game from the start
All I care about are fingerflips and grab grinds, so I'm getting closer to a competent game Now they just need to fix pumping and not airing back down to the flat of a pool
Curious how people feel about the loose camera setting and the new animations and whatever else they did for turning on board. Looked a bit better from pigeons video but wondering how people feel after playing it
>>2540492 I like it. A bit disorientating at first with how "swimmy" it feels but I dig it. Though I'm still a Skate 1 low camera right-up-your-ass apologist so I'd prefer that.
>land the biggest disaster of all time >game crashes when I go to save the replay fuck I dropped into the big metal Y thing off the M tower roof, somehow managed to air out the other side and land perfectly in a Disaster on the edge of the shorter building on the other side, it was insane
>>2540601 i dunno, they seem okay, i prefer it to the way it was before where half the time your hand just kinda spazzed out everywhere (because they werent implemented)
>>2543157 >flip board and then don't catch it it's a video game, air resistance and momentum don't matter, same reason we can do infinite kickflips that never slow down
another season, another list of challenges that weren't playtested and don't work. I've done smith to tail a dozen times, never counted. done a dozen crails and seatbelts, never counted. fucks sake
>>2537806 upon further review, they did indeed add a halfpipe. and it's outside of the area so you don't even need premium to access it. it's kinda small but it's got that 80s backyard ramp vibe to it so I can dig it. every time I've gone over to ride it within a few minutes 2-3 other people join me
Anyone else’s handplants not working? I’ve gotten them to work like in the bearings challenge in the stadium that tells you to handplant the final qp by putting a rail on top of it and planting on that but it’s still mostly not working, I’m trying to do the bonski OTL to finish the second set of mastery challenges but that handplant the high ledge part doesn’t work and I don’t have the time to carefully place a qdo on top to get it
I enjoy trying to replicate special tricks from THPS I recently got the 360 heelflip varial liendownn, and legit enjoy doing it just as a part of my repertoire in game. you do a laser flip, then catch it with a BS grab. then in quick motion you do a varial fingerflip. do it right and the board shouldn't look like it stops moving at any point. later today I'm gonna see if I can do a 360 nose comply
>>2548120 you don't have to air out onto it, you can climb the gantry it's on, caveman onto it, and then trick off. if you don't get the sequence score just land in a manual and combo.
mark my words, once they add public lobby proximity voice chat, people are going to be scratching their head asking why this wasn't in the game from the jump. even though I'm not into extraction shooters, I'm thanking Arc Raiders for reminding people that random voice chat makes literally any game more fun
i genuinely cant tell if they've fine tuned the animations and smoothed them out a bit, or if the new camera settings are doing a shitload of heavy lifting. skating vert on low camera seems to be a lot more bearable as well, with the camera transitioning a bit higher up as you come up and over the coping rather than cramming the camera directly against the coping
>>2548524 this phase sucked. but i think whats worse is how vividly i remember this clip. maybe they'll go back to the drawing board and reframe this whole parkour park thing. interesting enough idea, but incredibly poorly implemented
>>2551713 One of my hot takes for the game is that I actually kinda like the jumping puzzles with (usually shitty) parks at the end, but I like jumping puzzles in most games they're in. They should do more on-board obstacle courses though.
>>2551726 eh, i love a good, difficult platformer or something like neon white, but these parks missed the mark due to the on-foot mechanics feeling a little too weighty and clunky imo. they could easily return with revamped parkour mechanics, and something a little more enticing like these revamped community parks here in s4. maybe they'll even let us pull the triggers in upon ground contact to tumble like in mirrors edge.
>>2552179 Eh I could play Skate 3 whenever I want, game's dated as fuck. There's a lot wrong with the new game but the gameplay feel and animations are way better than 3 and that's the main thing I care about. Maybe the Skate 3 players will start posting clips though.
>>2552179 watched a video on this and he says how great it runs but it doesn't keep a steady 60 thats exactly how it is on emulators already whats the point
>Have to do OTL milestones for Mastery challenges >Still no matchmaking >The one time I got into a party, 1 left and the other did fuck all Jesus Christ I hate this shit
>>2553541 >oh noes oy very what will the random nobody on the internet think of me if he has to take three seconds to reject my party invite oh my constitution cannot take it grow a fucking spine holy shit.
>>2554186 for a backside noseblunt, you hold same input as a nollie shoveit but SLOW so you don't pop but rather simply get in nollie stance. then hold down on the left stickas you come up to the lip. for a goofy skater like in that clip, the sequence of inputs is >slowly sweep right stick from 12o'clock to 8o'clock; hold at 8 >hold down on left stick
>>2554186 in other words, it's the same mechanics as the slappy grinds, themselves working like regular grinds except the setup is on the ground rather than in the air.
>>2554329 you're worried that some faggot you don't know will think you're being a pest by sending a party invite. I'm telling you it doesn't fucking matter what they think.
Bronski Bangers own the lot Fuck 5 tricks on a quick drop object Fuck grind the overpass Fuck 5,000 score in the swimming pool Fuck grind distance All I need is the 25 objectives and then I’ll skip the challenge on the mastery challenges part 3 but every time I’m at 24 I have all of those and something like 8 body flips or 30 seconds of air time and it’s impossible to finish, plus the game will randomly freeze when I try to return to the session marker This shit is so broken, with all the new shit they add some old shit stops working, because of fingerflips it’s harder to do quick Ollie’s to flip tricks and body flips on half pipes because it thinks I want to do one when I have left trigger held FUCK OFF
>>2554846 I took a break for a little bit, went back and threw on the team x-bladz song from brink that was found to be a real song last year just shy of 30 years later https://youtu.be/gtZFRNw201A?si=og1yjNFP1SCvWxUk got to 27, already crushed the 3rd group of mastery challenges but there’s no way I’m getting 40 by myself so it shall remain unfinished
