>How do I play?
Controls are mostly straightforward and intuitive, but there's always little tips and tricks to learn, more info can be found at https://kb.tabletopsimulator.com/
>How do I join?
That's easy, you click on "Join" in the main menu, search for the lobby name and password that's been posted, and done!
>How do I host?
Click on "Create", and that's basically it. You can find free games in the workshop here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/286160/workshop/

I mean, I guess I could if there was demand for it but Monopoly is really not a good game. I'd even Catan before it, what part of Monopoly do you like? There are several alternatives that do that part better I assure you.

technically a deck of cards is no different to rolling a complicated set of dice, and in chinatown thats how you decide what lots each player gets
and moving is simple, you have business in hand, you have open lot, you move the business into the lot.
so chinatown is roll and move.

unironically it's a skill issue. and not even in a negative way to the players, just to the game. it takes knowing all the factions and all the common play patterns for the factions before you're able to have fun with the game, even though you can just do moves and most likely lose and feel powerless with no knowledge of what the other factions do. So the skill floor for having fun is way higher than the skill floor for playing, and while some are fine with that and even try extending a ladder down to help the ones on ground floor reach the fun floor, it can't help everyone, and more and more new players see Wehrle's other games where the two floors are closer to each other and play them instead, even if the entry floor is higher it's an easier step between entry and fun that matters..

Ok, I suggest you watch this to get familiar with the controls: https://youtu.be/-MfuHyBoJGE?si=b43F8WjbMeNSsAz1&t=72
Hopefully the host can post a how to play video of the game he intends to host so it makes starting more seamless.if that doesn't happen, I'd suggest watching this, just in case: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZQyr5JkbBY

you can use the build in .pdf file support for rulebooks, because the notecards as they are in base tabletop sim suck so much ass it's not even funny.
though some people did make a Better Notecard it still doesnt support image embeds. but they do funcion better than default notecards.

The tutorial is way longer than it needs to be because it goes in depth, but the game is so simple it fits in a post
>objective is to get the most VP by stealing a hexagonal Loot piece from the dungeon (you can only carry one by default) along with whatever else is not nailed down, and getting out of the dungeon before the clanking of your armor annoys the Dragon enough for her to kill you
>play entire hand of cards every turn, though sometimes order might matter
>cards give the symbols they have on the left side (and sometimes in their text box) into a temporary symbol wallet, and activate their text box effects, when played
>boot symbols let you move your dude thru corridors, but some corridors are one way, some take more than one boot, and some have monsters that damage you if you go thruthem
>sword symbols let you kill monsters, either on paths (meaning you dont take the damage) or in the market rows (where they give rewards)
>blue number is Skill, used to buy any non-monster card from the market rows, either the random top row, or the always same bottom row.
>at the end of turn, lose your symbols, put all played cards into discard, and draw from deck to your hand size (usually 5)
>if you ever need to draw cards but the deck is empty, shuffle the discard into a new deck, then keep drawing cards
>some cards, and rooms in the dungeon, give Gold; Shop rooms let you spend gold for items like a backpack for an extra Loot piece slot, a Key for map shortcuts, or a Crown for bonus points
>last but not least, Clank is a "resource" tracked with cubes that you want to generate the least of, because whenever the Dragon attacks (and its often), all Clank is put into the Dragon's bag, and then some cubes are drawn and become Damage tracked on a health bar. Running out of health kills you, but if you got out of the deep part of the dungeon you still score your points. Getting oput of the dungeon gives a 20 point Mastery bonus.
and you're ready to play Clank!
