Guard support would more likely fix the Frieza part of Angel Frieza/Goku from last year and even then it would need to be turn 1 guard support. Mini Vegeta at least has that extra damage reduction his first turn so you can get away with floating him and getting him back on turn 4 when the other Vegeta’s support is ready, Frieza is just deadweight that gets killed by any sort of aoe turn 1.

His base form outfit was already what a gay motorcycle hobbyist would wear and then he goes SSJ4 and it somehow gets even fruitier. The problem with Dokkan since Super ended is and always has been the fact that Legends exists. That game took over as the main promotional vehicle for new Dragon Ball content at least in the mobile sector even though nobody likes it. Even though Dokkan continues to blow it out of the water in terms of revenue year after year, Bandai doesn't give a fuck. The suits running the show will live and die by the 'newer=better' fallacy. They're going to continue trying to force Legends to be the more popular game even going into this new era.
Until Legends finally dies, we're just going to keep getting shafted. Legends is going to get a Moro probably the same week he appears on TV and we'll be lucky to get him within the same year.

Supposedly the leaker also said that the dokkan team is having some major difficulties with their scheduling and timing right now, and I'd believe it after a part 1 like this. Outside of parts of the Broly WWDC, I don't think we've had a major celebration this dry since 6th anni.
People will blame daima, but it has to be some level of apathy or absolute flailing and scrambling by the dev team. No reason they couldn't panic mode deploy 10 or 15 missions on top of existing red zones, drop another IDBH, boss rush, etc.
I'm sure the part 2 characters will look phenomenal but that doesn't mean a whole lot if there's no where to run them and no content to play. They better lock in for part 2

Anyone get confused on who to Dokkan Awaken? I have so many copies of characters where some were gifts that came at max level, one is 100% already and there are a bunch at 0% but they all glow blue with the "Can be Dokkan Awakened" filter.

If you have a ton of coins and you think he looks fun or helpful, it's probably worth it. He's certainly one of the stronger units in the game right now. I'd take a look at at the categories he's on and see if he would make a difference on any of those teams for you.
Carnival coins are kind of hard to come by, so you may be better served picking up another unit that covers "more bad" teams than Goku does but ultimately the point of the game is to have fun so do what feels fun

I hope not. I understand they obviously didn't have any SEZAs for daima specifically, but they really shouldn't be too stingy for part 2. It'll depend on the leader skill for the units I think, but they could give us LR STR Beerus & Whis and INT SSB Vegeta at the minimum to pad out RoG/Super/Vegeta's family. It would obviously be cool if we saw them hit the 3rd anni LRs, INT UI Goku, AGL SSBE Vegeta, and TEQ FPSS4 but for some reason I feel like they won't jump that far ahead.

Dokkan is so much better than Legends. PvP and gacha do not mix. I played Legends at launch and dropped it during the second anniversary. I picked up Dokkan at that point (sometime around the end of the 5th anni) and I've been playing it ever since.

It is physically impossible for Dokkan to be worse. Units become unusable within 3 months, their stinginess with CC blows Dokkan complaints out of the water, characters get repeats far more often, the PvP has never had less than half a dozen major issues, etc.
Literally the only thing Legends has over Dokkan is a good story (by franchise standards).

I feel like they probably determined that the work didn't equate to more hype. With the way they animate characters and supers, costume changes are a lot of additional work for little benefit. It's almost like EX supers now where they figure if they have to do the animation twice, they may as well make it "more hype" and include bonus in-game effects.
Turning it into a character-specific "transformation" like morale boost, or "serious mode" is a win for everyone because it'll let the character link with same names and they can actually attach passive changes to the unit, too.
if they did someone like Recoome, they may as well make it like Pikkon's "serious" and give him the animation of him getting up after Krillin slams his mouth shut or Vegeta blasts him, name the mode "Now I'm a little mad" or something and give him buffs and let him link with the friend Recoome. Best of both worlds

They are better “out of the box”, plenty of utility and damage meanwhile I’m getting 13mil additional supers as Vegeta stacks up just for Goku to be a nuke that can’t even go in slot 1. So Vegeta is a damage less tank and no one else is holding slot 1 so it’s like you’re stacking for that moment when there’s no attack before you attack in slot 1. Then you can switch to Goku and he’s only a little bit stronger than daima Vegeta, I say “only a little” because you can’t stack forever maybe turn 7 at the latest. But only 6 or so supers doesn’t get you that crazy of damage compared to everything else that’s in game.

The flow of motion is clear for most of the cuts besides the half dozen taps toward the end as long as you pay attention. The cut with the frame you pulled is the only other exception.

Honestly my big celebration luck has always been dogshit though, I see people agonise over not getting a unit in 1500 stones but I’ve had about six 2k chases without the unit to date and I never get the featured unit off tickets. The issue is that the gods team is artificially propped up right now. AGL MUI is a meme pick due to turn 1 guaranteed dodge and a revive after (assuming you actually fall below 77% in our modern take no damage or take 3 times your health meta).
Vegeta will just fade back to obscurity while we use the new SEZA.

If the rumors going around are true, it's probably a combination of:
-spread thin from working on the big "new mode" and the "regular" game
-some executive dysfunction that messed with their scheduling and releases
-new characters taking longer than anticipated
My guess is that they're behind schedule and hoping that hype moments and aura will buy them time to get caught back up. I'm sure they also don't feel too pressured because despite all of the very verbal bitching the game has instantly hit top grossing and stayed there for both parts despite some decent competition

Yeah, I understand that. It's definitely an acquired taste to flip flop back and forth between 2015-2017 png angled kamehameha and the animations we have now. I've been playing since year 1, so I do find it charming when I get to use old units again.
They do need to give us more, though. There's a good amount of goku and vegeta family characters lying around that could fill out the gaps. No good reason why they couldn't EZA heart virus goku, the teq LR goku & gohan, sub-ezas for the RoF phy ssb goku and teq ssb vegeta, and then super ezas for teq fpss4 and agl ssbe and int ui.

Just another style of content. I think the idea is that Goku's attack lowering will make it harder to cheese because fewer of your units will hit Goku and Vegeta for significant enough damage. Then once you move to Vegeta, it's basically a "can you kill him before he kills you" situation when he starts double supering for like 20m at the end. It's not an exceptionally hard stage but Vegeta can stomp weak units and catch you if your damage stalls out

yeah, I think he's the most dependent on RNG and the daima team. He really needs those EX supers to keep his defense up and he really wants to be around units like mini vegeta who provide additional defense to other units on rotation. I think he's still very good, but I think he's more of a supporting character that rounds out your team rather than a focal point like the other 3. He's also the most vulnerable to locking and AoEs and needs some time to get ramped up. I still think he's better than 98% of the game though fwiw

Yeah that's good for a non-anni unit. Daima mogs everyone in terms of damage, SS3 Jeets can too but has way more rng I don't like it.
Tag UI on 2 dupes is doing 40m+ ex supers, into 25m + 25m. On a defensive unit. Turn 1 Vegeta is doing 80m+50m+50m. So yeah it is kinda mid out of all the anniversary units.

Anni stages and the random redzone they drop between anni and gdc have no time limit. But we're getting Serious Battles every month with missable inevitable showdown missions, and the 2 implies they're harder. The gay missions are monotype and itemless turn count.
These guys will clear any turn count mission because you can take damage to standby turn 1, and buff it with friend monkeys or your own.
Mono INT is fine without monkeys thanks to bomad, seza bluegeta and rof blues are on it too. But the spirit bomb will make it a joke, and you can't really run friend monkeys with another INT lead because they don't lead VT, gofrieza, yamcha or hit. Unless they randomly eza ss4ku.
Mono PHY is pretty cursed because half of any Z duo team will be ancient. UI will help here a LOT under tao, beastless, minigeta or glorio. You could try to nuke with Omega but I'm pretty sure his phy extreme team will get 1 shot.
So basically I think UI will help more with missable stones before gdc, IF omatsu is a dick and gives us mono phy missions. Thanks for reading my blog.

Something I think people overlook with units like that are that the people really invested in discussing them have them rainbowed at their absolute max output, but the average player is likely going to have them at 55%, MAYBE one dupe. And those guys in particular, and units with performance issues like theirs, aren't just quickly-aging, they're just straight up unrunnable from the start. So when guys like Truth call people crazy for "misremembering" how these guys performed he's usually just forgetting that to a lot of people they were WAY less usable than they'd be rainbowed.

It's real shame because even though there were lots of very low hype units, it was nice to see them give some representation to characters. Turles with good animations, Super Trunks finally getting a real character, even FPSS4 Goku was a miss in retrospect.
They really, really shit the bed with just how much they tripled down on making every character unfun. Disgustingly restrictive conditions like "when facing a goku family enemy" when we had like 0 hard super class stages all year, coinflip guard with another THREE allies from bad teams, Kale requiring a Caulifla when there were 0 good Cauliflas, giving her a dogshit Frost banner unit, the 17s and the blue duo having an HP restriction AND 5th turn from start of battle, etc. etc.
I could go on and on but I swear you could convince me that they were actively trying to self-sabotage that year. The only redeeming quality of 2023 was that they mostly nailed it for larger celebrations and that we had a handful of units floating around like orange piccolo, bulma, ma jr. 23rd wt goku, and future gohan who held it down most of the year

Oh yeah, I totally agree. Really it was just that they had a decent chance to dodge at their baseline in a year where they were ridiculously, disgustingly stingy with defensive mechanics and "chances to guard". The dodge was really the only thing that kept them hanging in there for a while. I have no love lost for that unit, but the years of image spam with the 0 attack stat is a tiny bit of embellishment in retrospect.

Both of those banner units were so good back in 2021. I don't know if they'd give Goten & Trunks enough to actually stack their way to high stats, so it'd be nice if they had high dodge and could be floated safely.
GT Heroes has a lot of pieces that can do well in long and short content, but there's some real ki/rainbow orb issues.
RoG has a lot of short term fire power right now, but I feel like they start to flat line in longer content and eventually UI won't dodge. They need some kind of mid-turn heal and units that can hang in there for longer content - which is why I was eyeballing the PHY Goku and TEQ Vegeta as good EZA candidates
They've been so stingy with (S)EZAs lately that I'm starting to seriously doubt we'll get anything beyond the 8th anni p1 units after this. I'm just desperate for some more characters to bring into the fold and stuff to do.

because the "community" is full of mentally ill copers and attention whores who have to be contrarian about everything. they can't ever pass up an opportunity to get attention, even if it means getting loudly disagreed with. they also love to pretend that because they can squeeze out one or two winning runs in 20 attempts or with items with a bad character that the character "takes skill" in the bubble popping game

I don't think he's wrong that eza str jiren is one of the worst EZAs we've ever gotten and he was just completely unfun and had no role to play in any relevant content at the time outside of maybe E/SBR.
On EZA, he got attacks effective against all types when facing one enemy
Only 30% DR when facing 2 or more enemies (which was not a thing in any hard content)
High chance to stun (when almost any meaningful boss or boss phase couldn't be stunned)
guaranteed crit when the enemy is stunned (which never happened)
USS or ToP enemy bonus stats and crit (when there were no relevant ToP or USS stages in the game)
really just an abysmal unit that was getting one tapped by normals. atrocious kit and no usability outside of stages everyone already had done without an issue

If it's not god ki, gt heroes, or MBS - and it is a base form or ss1 character, might give some credibility to a namek GDC coming up

and by homeless I mean moreso good linking partners than category teams. they link well with the GT duo but I'm not sure you'd run them on rotation with each other, and the 10th anni LRs have fallen off a a bit. LR 5 guys sucks

I just did hybrid saiyans. 400 points max, all atk boosts. AGL Gohan + Gamma 1 and EZA PHY Gohan just shit on Vegeta. I just nuked Int Vegeta at the end with Beast Gohan's active. EZA agl kid gohan can also tank and help other characters tank. other characters are there to support/tank
