Im playing the nte closed beta. Missions 3/10, music 7/10, pull acquisition 2/10 i got a lot of pulls in mails but almost none through gameplay, models 7/10 all the dangling details have their own physics but the designs are old-school and it has no shading in the skin just like genshin/wuwa instead of 3d like zzz/endfield, life sim 8/10, map 10/10 perfect, pandering 9/10. I think the game looks rather lethargic when its solo. Its clearly not made for it. The dodges are ok, and I'm not really a fan of the speed the rocks move for the ff14 attacks. The slow pause as she does her combo/follow up? attack at 47 seconds taking literally 3 seconds is a pretty huge pause especially for something that isn't a big ult scinematic. Most of all it just feels like an interruption because it looks like a relatively normal swing instead of being directed with more actiony cinematography. The enemy movement seems a bit pointless to a point with how you have generous dodge frames and your attacks have incredible amounts of tracking. I'm not really sure why the player is running away all the time too from watching it. I like the animation of her first attack but don't like the complete smoothness that doesn't really sell momentum of her second and I don't really like the sound design on her attacks.

Random dudes coming out of nowhere as one of her basic attacks also adds to the floatiness feel that just isn't cool with swinging a massive sword Fundamentally the gameplay when reduced to just one party memberlooks like a poor mans soulslike where you just use one combo string and do a shitty "cutscene" attack every once in a while and only have generous dodging as your only way to defend or deal with enemy attacks.

In terms of presentation I think a lot of animations are a bit weird. I think that its too smooth, too much of a straightforward gradient of motion.

Valentine's Day letters have been a tradition for Azur Lane for eight years. So removing this tradition this year was seen as a betrayal by players
especially since Manjuu didn't offer any explanation or apology like “Sorry, making 800 personalized letters is too much for us, so that's why this year the new characters will have new letters.” which could have reduced the anger a little.
But instead they just shadowdropped the Valentine's Day event info one day before the release, as if they knew it would give them an excuse not to change anything if people got angry, because it would be too late.
Also on the same day, they announced that they would be on vacation for a week and that there would be no customer service during that week.
