I've started replaying Ruby , FR/LG and Emerald just to have a complete save on emerald for the battle frontier. I'm really enjoying the journey and using RNG Manipulation and other newly discovered stuff is making the game way more interesting. Said that, I think the game is great and 20 dollars is not that much. Sucks that they are so lazy they didn't include online and probably no events too but if ACE or other stuff is available I recommend it.

Doesn't the main way of getting ACE require Emerald? Or have new ways of getting it been found which strictly require FRLG?
>>58956356
Maybe if we're lucky they'll do Mystery Gift events for them at FUCKING GAMESTOP

I don't really think it's worth it if you're planning on playing the game without connecting to anyone. These Switch releases can do less than other emulators will be able to do and as of right now while we know there's going to be something for HOME, it's not confirmed as to what the extent of it is. Your mileage may vary and if you're content with either just not playing these or getting a ROM and emulator elsewhere, just do that.
I'm personally waiting on something to sweeten the pot as well, and for me that would be some nice HOME features like giving FireRed/LeafGreen more challenges, a dex completion task and reward, and with any luck, hopefully some sort of shop system that puts a few things directly into the game for HOME points. And even then I know a ton of other people that are getting this release mainly because of the platform, so for me a wave of people suddenly playing the gen 3 games (even if they're the remakes) is actually huge. Platform availability is a big selling point for me as doing gen 3 stuff currently means that you have to bring expensive carts and additional hardware like the wireless adapters or link cables places and of course you have to find other players that have the hardware to play to start with.

Here's my post-Sevii Islands team which I'll use to beat the game again on my repro copy of Leafgreen.

I don't have the screenshot from back then but I was emulating Emerald and decided to try and RNG exploit a shiny Mew. Except I accidentally initiated an encounter before saving and doing the process. Welp.

posted this team in last thread but here's my team in Emerald immediately after beating Winona. Purposefully went out of my comfort zone to build an extremely strange team. Most of these I've never used in a run before. Regice will be last.

Kangaskhan's an awesome pick if you give it Shadow Ball. Primeape's a good choice and is fun with Aerial Ace and Rock Slide, plus it gets Cross Chop pretty early. Hitmonlee and Dodrio are good also. Some "out there" picks might be Weezing (loaded up with tons of special attacks + sludge bomb/shadow ball cus it's fun), Venomoth, or Pinsir.

I never get good shiny luck in Emerald. My three most recent were a red Gyarados (which fucking everyone has) and two green Golbats in Victory Road. Use it.

I discovered yesterday that the roaming legendaries from FRLG and RSE have their IVS bugged. They basically have 0 IVs in everything and they can roll up to 7 ivs in attack... So what's the most legit way I can use to get the roaming legendaries with good IVs? I remember that the Latis are bugged but that's not a problem as I can go to the Eon Island on Ruby/Emerald and rng manip them from there. But what about the Dogs? Is coliseum the only way? I don't own the game though
>>
>>
>>58963875
>Emerald fixed this but remember the IVs are chosen in the moment you choose the color
Yeah the latis won't be a problem since I'll use the eon ticket and get them from the static encounters. My problem is the dogs but I will try something with Coliseum, maybe I'll play it on emulator and pass the mons from there to my cartridge.

what nature do you anons suggest I go for when rng manipping for shiny nidoran? I'm building a Nidoking with:
>Earthquake
>Sludge Bomb
>Mega Horn
>Ice Beam
This will be used in the battle frontier. I know the go to natures are Hasty/Naive and Lonely.

I’m not sure if it will hit any specific speed tiers just by having a speed nature
Lonely / the one that lowers SpDef might be better with enough speed EVs to hit a certain benchmark
I think in frontier anything below like base 70 speed has 0 speed investment?
