What is Pokémon Sleep?
Pokémon Sleep is a sleep tracking app that utilizes your smartphone and/or the Pokémon Go Plus + device to record data as you sleep. In doing so, you'll be able to meet a variety of Pokémon and fill out your Sleep Style Dex.
Be sure to post your Research ID so that you can add and share candy with fellow Anons. We are currently locked at 50 friends.
FAQ:
>How do Shinies work?
If you encounter a shiny Pokémon, a single Poké Biscuit will auto-befriend it.
>What should I spend my diamonds on?
Expanding your ingredient pockets, item pockets and Pokémon box. Long term you’ll want to max out ingredient pockets, everything else is up to what's convenient for you.
>When should I use my items?
When you have a good grasp of the game mechanics. You may want to save up Recovery Incenses for event missions.
>What should I spend my sleep points on?
Poké Biscuits first or if you’re a premium user: Main and Subskill seeds and Great Biscuits.
>Can I play this game if there's a lot of noise where I sleep?
The game tracks sleep based on motion only; sound has no impact.
>A Pokémon I fed got full! Will I have to start from scratch the next time I find one?
Nope! Pokémon retain any progress from when you last saw them.
>How do dream clusters work?
The higher your research rank, the more shards you get. You may want to hold onto them as long as possible.

Pleasant surprise to wake up to.

I imagine this is more of a teaser with Mew slated for some future event. The bigger question will be if it will be like Darkrai or if you'll have multiple Mews in your box.

Yeah, it was legitimately surprising. I also forgot about the 1.5x bonus for Pokemon Day, so it was a little extra.
>>58977665
That seems to be the only difference as far as the mainline games are concerned, but Darkrai could also just be an exception just for being associated with the new moon in this.

There's a certain number of smart watches that are supported, but I don't know enough about it.
Here's the basic gameplay loop.
During the day, you manage a team of Pokémon to feed and strengthen your Snorlax.
Berry specialists gather berries which Snorlax eats immediately, for gradual strength gains over the day.
Ingredient specialists gather ingredients, needed to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner at allotted times.
Skill specialists perform special main skills, with various effects.
All Pokémon do all of these, but all Pokémon fall into one speciality.
During the night, you track your sleep.
When you wake up, your measured sleep is used to calculate a sleep score (up to 100 for 8.5 hours of sleep), and that is used to multiply Snorlax's strength to produce Drowsy Power.
Higher DP results in finding Pokémon sleeping around the Snorlax, with different kinds of sleep styles.
The goal of the game is to discover all of the sleep styles, and befriend these Pokémon to build the best team for raising your Snorlax.
At the start of each week, you start over with a new Snorlax, and you can go to a new island as you unlock more through sleep dex progression.
At its core, Pokémon Sleep is an idle incremental gacha game where your performance and strategy, and own sleep data decides the results of each sleep session.
Sleep sessions also reward Sleep EXP (active team only), Research EXP, Dream Shards, and Candies; the latter two are needed to level up Pokémon.

There's three ways to track sleep
>Supported Smart Watch
>Pokémon Go Plus+ accessory
>Your phone itself
A lot of Pokémon Go players will already have the Go Plus+ accessory, and get introduced to Sleep because of it.
If you have to track sleep using your phone, this involves keeping the software open, your phone plugged in, your screen face down, and placed on your bed. You should also set up the app to not allow it to be closed by other apps.
Go Plus+ or phone sleep tracking works by measuring the motion of your bed whilst you sleep, so don't place it on a hard surface that's not on your bed, like a bed stand.
Phone sleep tracking will also record sound samples with the microphone, which they allege is just for your own review and that they don't keep the audio data (but they probably do keep some kind of meta data).
Go Plus+ doesn't do audio recordings, the thing is basically just a stripped down Joy-Con, it even has the same battery inside.

>>
>>58978896
Not sure how it works with an accessory, but you should get a prompt for a research session which will show you sleep styles of some pokemon based on your Snorlax' power level. As a phone-only fag, I manually start sleep sessions from the bottom-right corner of the camp area screen, lay phone face down and end sleep when my alarm goes off which takes me to a sleep review and then into a research session.

The current event is pretty straight forward; 1-3 Mew photos per day, and research photos of Pokemon + Mew get extra bonuses. The event seems to cap out at 25 and says as such in the Event Bonuses menu.

Nothing that special, just have high drowsy power for better odds.
Next week in case you missed it, is a starter focused event where all current starter lines will have boosted spawns.
That's all 36 Pokémon across the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Paldea starter lines.
https://www.pokemonsleep.net/en/news/333731343130383939323833343736343 832/
>Helper Pokémon Sleep EXP ×1.5.
>Certain Pokémon will be more likely to appear during sleep research.
>The chance of each helper Pokémon’s main skill triggering will be multiplied by 1.25.
>Final Strength gains from dishes will be multiplied by 1.25 (or 2.5 for Extra Tasty dishes or 3.75 for Extra Tasty dishes on Sunday only).
>Main skill levels of all helper Pokémon will be boosted by 1.
>A few Pokémon of different sleep types will appear during sleep research regardless of your sleep type for that day.
Sadly, no mini candy boost this time.
As for which island to visit, Greengrass Expert has all 36 Pokémon available, and have all four of their sleep styles available.
Regular Greengrass by comparison doesn't have everything (but lots of them), but frequently lack 3 star sleep styles.
Snowdrop Tundra has NONE of them.
Otherwise, pick one of the other islands if you want to narrow your focus to specific starter families.
For example Amber Canyon only has the Charmander, Torchic, and Mudkip families.
Old Gold Power Plant has the Paldea starters, plus Treecko.

I was hoping it might be a case of getting 25 photos, seeing Mew the next research session and then repeating for eureka seeds, which should probably just be normalized across mythicals at some point in my opinion. They should also just add goddamn reroll seeds for legendaries and normies already. It feels terrible to get near-perfect setups with 1 glaringly bad subskill. And they need to add mints, too. Depending on how they're priced, I might even be inclined to pay for some to fix a near-perfect roll. Though, they should also give mints for free periodically.

Guess you can't access past photos except the ones that you choose to push to Community Research. Also I thought Mew might do something, but pushing said photos doesn't actually have any benefit.
>>
>>
I wish the shop only alerted me to trial bundles because that's the only thing I buy. I don't care to know about new event bundles with terribad rates. It's hilarious because this game hasn't improved my sleep habits even one iota. It's just something for me to pass some time with than anything else.

This list actually shows how hard it is to progress on Old Gold by relying on berries. One of the only 3 type options for the island includes Steelix. You still have Raichu and to a lesser degree Banette, but despite having a lot of favored individual Pokemon, any BFS you might want are from non-berry specialists.

The biggest thing is having missed your sleep research. No spawns/recruits, Pokemon EXP, Dream Shards, Research EXP, or sleep style discoveries. Its main use is to recover Pokemon energy and getting an extra daily biscuit for the following day, but it's just much worse than if you had been able to track your sleep normally.

Off the top of my head
>Venusaur - Good shiny AAB farmer
>Charizard - Good AAB farmer
>Blastoise - Perfect AAA farmer, plus good ABB farmer
>Meganium - Superb BFS HB berry farmer
>Typhlosion - Superb BFS fast berry farmer
>Feraligatr - Superb BFS fast berry farmer
>Sceptile - Lacking
>Blaziken - Good BFS berry farmer
>Swampert - Decent BFS EXP Up berry farmer
>Meowscarada - Good ABB milk farmer, with Research EXP bonus
>Skeledirge - Great AAA apple farmer with HB
>Quaquaval - Good AAC farmer (shiny, fast, HB, no ingredient boosts)
The Meowscarada I've seldom run on Research EXP maxing teams, when I was rushing to rank 65, and will run again whenever the next level/rank increase comes.
For team building, this dictates that I should go to OGPP if I want to try for strong Treecko, Sprigatito, and Quaxly spawns.
Particularly, BFS+STM+HSM Sceptile, AAA Meowscarada, AAA or ABB Quaquaval would be the goals.
However, I'm more concerned with trying to get missing sleep styles; I still don't have 2 star and 3 star Feraligatr despite hitting Master 20 on Cyan Beach on three different occasions.
I need to review what my other missing sleep styles are, but I recall that I've got most of them for most of the starter lines.
I could go to Expert GG since all sleep styles will be available, but I don't think I could raise my DP high enough by Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday's Good Sleep Days to make the most of the bonus.
OGPP is very tempting because my team is busted and I could probably hit max spawns in one day.
>>
>>58989313
I still need a good AAA Bulbasaur, AAB Quaquaval, BFS Meowscarda, BFS Mudkip, and a good BFS Sceptile... All water and grass apparently, so it might be good to go to... Lapis? Only problem is there's not much else I need on Lapis anymore. Still don't have a Bewear or Gallade either, but those aren't super important right now.
>>
>>58990425
Having a good corn farmer is still particularly important for a lot of good dishes.
My mono-corn BFS Bewear has done wonders.

I managed a pretty decent Comfey or I could also use this Mawile if I wanted to build it up. Doesn't look like there's a candy boost event quite yet, so I've been holding off of a lot of stuff.
>>
>>58990425
Just realized that Mudkip isn't actually available on Lapis. Seems like it leans more towards the Ground side by being on Taupe and Amber, though it does show up on Cyan too. All the other starters I need are still on Lapis though, so it's still a good choice. Either that or just make use of mixed spawns on Expert.

>need a bunch of stuff on Old Gold

The pool is a lot more shallow than I thought it would be.
>>
So these are the last starter line sleep styles that I need.
>Charizard - 4* @ GG / TH / AC / GGEX
>Bayleef - 4* @ GG / LL / GGEX
>Typhlosion - 4* @ GG / TH / GGEX
>Feraligatr - 2*, 3* @ GG / CB / GGEX
>Grovyle - 3*, 4* @ CB / LL / OGPP / GGEX
>Blaziken - 3*, 4* @ TH / LL / AC / GGEX
>Marshtomp - 4* @ CB / TH / AC / GGEX
>Swampert - 4* @ CB / TH / AC / GGEX
>Skeledirge - 4* @ CB / TH / OGPP / GGEX
Seems pretty obvious that I should go to Greengrass Expert next week, at least my expert bonus is already 85%. It won't overflow to the other maps which sucks, but this is a good chance to get up to 12 new sleep styles.
Providing I don't get fucked on berry rolls.

Ending at 4 million strength at GGEX, 10 million definitely seems doable for m20 with GCT + boosted guaranteed dish cooking event and good berry rolls. I hit grass main with psychic and ghost secondary with ingredient bonus on curries, and it gave me a good excuse to bust out my sceptile this week.
Going back for this event week but I'm staying off for a good while after, have more pressing things to hunt at amber canyon

>Providing I don't get fucked on berry rolls.
I got fucked on berry rolls.
>Sitrus / Poison / Flying, desserts
At best I have a decent oil farmer Toxicroak and a decent HB ABC Cramorant. I re-rolled.
>Dark / Ice / Flying, desserts
A mediocre BFS Tyranitar and a single great BFS Walrein wouldn't carry the effort, I used a GCT, I re-rolled.
>Poison / Flying / Water, desserts
Suicune team is strong and skill triggers / ingredient gathering is boosted this week, also got the ingredients effect. I stuck with this, but why the fuck was this determined to give me desserts, flying, poison?
Good thing desserts is my best request, and I just got a great new mono-milk Blastoise.
Rerolling GGEX is goddamn expensive, at least I'm only down 100 sleep points since I saved some tickets. I'm not planning on going there again this month, unless an event demands it.

Honestly BFS and one speed boost is worth it, though EXP down is gonna stall its already slow levelling curve.

Pseudos are so resource-intensive that I wouldn't be very excited to invest in anything less than like the top 5%. IMO the EXP down is a bit of a dealbreaker because it doesn't have any other really desirable skills besides BFS. But if it also had HSM/HB, I'd be happy tanking the extra costs.
