Quick FAQ
>Do I need my own Pokémon to play?
No, the game features a recruitment system, but transferring from Home is recommended to save time and resources.
>What makes the game so much more accessible than before?
All aspects of a Pokémon are customizable with VP, a currency earned simply by playing the game. IVs are also removed.
>Is there single player content?
No.
>Do I need a Nintendo Online subscription?
No.
>What's the starter pack?
US$6.99 one time purchase for 50 training tickets (fully train for free), 30 quick coupons, 50 extra box space and the LGPE trainer music.
>Is anything locked behind a paywall?
So far everything gameplay relevant is also purchasable with VP. Mega Kalos starters and E-Floette require ZA transfer.

I saw i missed a gardevoir that was given as a reward for a warm up thing and i felt bad for 3 second before i realized, how would that gardevoir be any different from any other gardevoir in this game? Wouldn’t it make more sense to give players a special hat or shirt as a reward? All a pokemon does is take space in the box it can’t go anywhere

Other Aggranon here. I didn't like running Ttar because I was struggling against rain teams too and I didn't want the water weakness. So I have Mega Ampharos with Altaria for support against sun and rain. I like running niche mons though.

It's genuinely insane to me that a casino slot machine ass move like Rock slide is as integral to doubles as it is. No idea how you guys can stand having your strategy boil down to praying for no flinches every other match

Run it with a Sableye with prankster gravity and put a kings rock on it.
Sableye also gives it helping hand and quash to make sure you flinch even the most unburdened of Sneaslers if you don't outright kill it (you will).
If you're not willing to commit to the meme mice then just use normal shit.

The mons being stuck gives them leeway to give out usually shiny locked pokemon. Plus having the regular version be the participation reward can help with things like za exclusive megas.
Basically something like "faggot cup" that gives you an eternal floette and mega stone and finishing in a high tier gets you a shiny one kind of deal.

MAggron has 230 base defense.
If a physical attacker gets through that you've fucked up tremendously. Boosting it for body press alone is putting all your eggs in one basket. It's a good sweeper if you get iron defense to go off but there's a lot of strong Earth Power, Overheat, Scald users and so on.
With enough spc def you can keep him from getting OHKO without significant setup and maybe put him into the 3 hit zone even against strong spec attackers with super effectives.

Is it normal as a non-compfag to find doubles much easier than singles? Only lost once in doubles before reaching Ultra Ball, but Singles was about 60/40.
Admittedly, I am using more underrated picks for my singles team.
>>
>>59175235
RNG is part of the game. There’s a reason competitive pokemon is called “chess mixed with poker”. Probability management is a skill. It’s why the comp format is a ladder and tournaments place with best of 3 matches, to mitigate the ability of one incidence of crazy luck to swing performance too egregiously and try to capture the broad level of player skill at managing unlucky draws and capitalizing on lucky ones
>>
>>
>>59175255
Singles is way more aggressive which makes it way less kind to suboptimal mons. Doubles gives you way more room to get wins from good reads even with worse mons. So, maybe? If you’re really good at identifying when your opponent is gonna double-up and hit the right protects, or calling when a mon doesn’t need to protect and gets a free switch/set up, you can get a lot of mileage out of that skill

As a mega steelix user, I can tell you Ultra 1/2 are the harshest environments for him and Aggron. Everyone's tryharding to reach masterball and it's nothing but constant rain, sun and sneaslers. Once you reach masterball people chill out and start having fun again.
>>
>>
>>59175050
aggron can afford to put a ton of investment into spdef because mega aggron's base defense is so ludicrously high that even one iron defense makes it unbreakable on the physical side with 0 investment
the special defense boost for rock types is nice but mega aggron drops its rock typing so you're not going to benefit from that unless you delay your own mega evolution for some reason; you're better off running something else to sponge special attacks like a bulky redirector/screen setter/etc.
t. mega aggron enjoyer (running it on a trick room team with bulky ariados)

>>
>>
>>
>>59175339
Gravity isn't really worth it outside of Hypnosis gimmicks. The difference between Thunderbolt and Thunder, for example, usually doesn't turn a 2HKO into a OHKO, but even if it does, you're basically just making a Trick Room team without the speed control. You have to finish the game before your Gravity runs out otherwise your Pokemon become substantially weaker as their moves can now miss.

Champions should have just been another tier instead of a try hard positional top 300.
Since this is purely elo based, it means you need to win a lot of wins in a row + against good players. Which just makes try hard no life autist even more try hard
While totally ignoring the kids their actual target audience.

Using my free time to slowly climb through great ball and I've been pretty consistently passing prankster from whimsicott to passimian
I've just been a little wishy-washy on who the sweeper is going to be; I went with palafin at first, but I quickly realized I got walled by grass types too easily and now I'm trying physical dragapult with more success but I'm wondering if I can do better. I'm also thinking of running volcarona for anti-weather and redirection with rage powder, heat wave, hurricane, and morning sun
Has anyone else here bothered with prankster coaching strats? Any pointers?

I'm the complete opposite. I sailed into Master Rank on Singles with like maybe 5 losses total, meanwhile I can't even get out of Ultra Rank 4 in Doubles. I've been win/lose every couple matches for like 20 games now. It seems like no matter what I do or how I plan i always run into some unexpected bullshit or my opponent perfectly predicts everything I do. Frustrating as hell.

This is easy mode right now since leading Peliper/Archaludon bipass intimidates since the both run special and each turn 1 guarantees a free SPA boosted Electroshot at the start of a battle. The only minor counter to this is if they have MegaZard Y but peliper swaps in and out turn 1 to reset drizzle.

add a toxicroak to your lineup as a rain counter
dry skin blanks all water moves and the only other attack that actually threatens it under rain is hurricane, whose users can be handled by bellibolt
go max hp max def/spdef (whichever one is more annoying for your team) and run it as a bulky support mon with moves like taunt and encore
also give it knock off for utility and drain punch so it can sit in front of archaludon without being threatened by it
item slot is flexible, i run leftovers on mine but that's a mono poison team so you might want to save that for something else
in that case a sitrus or lum berry is probably fine

aw man I had no idea toxicroak was in too, I can hit 5/6 frogs before a Poliwrath/Seismitoad update. I've really been looking forward to using Bellibolt specifically since I don't play the mainline games anymore. I guess Greninja is gonna be a support-mon or Protean hit and run attacker since I don't have a copy of ZA. I might try that kind of Toxicroak then, it's not how I'm used to playing it but it sounds great for Archaludons/weather meta. Thank you fellow frog enjoyer.

Apparently it's shit, but Gallade is my favorite pokemon, so I'm trying to use the mega
Been using Whimsicott for Tailwind support, but I can't really figure out what other kind of support this guy needs. For the moment I just have some generic good mons on the team with them like Sneasler and Incineroar
Right now I'm just running attacks, Sacred Sword, Psycho Cut, Leaf Blade and Shadow Sneak. Figured it wasn't worth trying Bulk Up or anything like that
Does anyone have any ideas for how they would run this if they were dumb enough to try?

>I've really been looking forward to using Bellibolt specifically
he's got some funny tricks
good bulk and a great hp stats means it can actually use that electromorphosis ability to do some solid damage, plus it's got screens/weather ball/acid spray/soak if you want to be funny
>I might try that kind of Toxicroak then, it's not how I'm used to playing it
abusing dry skin in a support role is about the only thing toxicroak can do these days given how much better sneasler is as an offensive threat
even if you ignore dire claw it also has a much higher statline and access to unburden, so offensive toxicroak is completely outclassed in a best case scenario
though toxicroak has been one of the most consistent kyogre counters regardless of format for his entire life so i'd argue a defensive anti-rain role is true to his roots
>>59176109
frog together strong
>>59176121
a gallade with sharpness can put up better damage than mega gallade can if you're using slicing moves anyway
you're best off using stronger moves like close combat and zen headbutt if you're going to be using the mega specifically, or you could go sharpness base gallade and drop leaf blade/shadow sneak for coaching/helping hand/some other support option instead
>>
>>
>>59176121

Mega Gallade got cucked by not getting Sharpness. It's better to just stick to normal Gallade.
Psycho Cut
Sacred Sword
Wide Guard
Trick Room
^ This was it's standard set it ran throughout SV. It's a unique Trick Room setter that can also hit hard and gets access to Wide Guard.
Unfortunately we don't have Clear Amulet which was almost always it's held item so White Herb will have to do.

luck is a factor in every form of competition
besides there are plenty of ways to optimize things like luck out of the equation when it comes to your own team setup
you might get unlucky losses due to rock slide flinches or something every now and again but it's not like you're blindly trying your luck every single game
>>
>>59176121
for doubles team building, preferably you start off with two mons with some synergy, and then you can think what to slap for the next four. So you start off with the idea first. For example Gallade is weak to ghosts (Basculegion) and is quite frail, so i would think you always want Maushold as your support, since you can use follow me, and with Friend Guard he lets Gallade live longer. Importantly, Maushold is faster than Talonflame assuming he still isnt in gale wings, which you probably could kill first.
For the next four, i suppose just scroll through pikalytics and think about which mons you have problems beating and bringing the support for those respective mons
>>
>>59176121
>>59176180
Alternatively, you just follow what other people have used because teambuilding is understandably hard

Sand team. Always go Excadrill + Ttar.
Spread MAXX. Scarf Rotom-wash + Garchomp, spam Discharge and Earthquake
OHKO spam, Mega-Hawlucha + Snorlax. Entrainment into fissure.
That mega froslass team anon said.
Instruct spam. Oranguru + Torkoal. Make sure Torkoal is slower than Oranguru. Click Eruption then Instruct it. Can use any other mon, like Blastoise Water Spout, Mega Golurk punches

So I'm running the following for singles. Mind if anyone can see any glaring weakpoint?
>zardX (Atk+Spe)
>sneasler (Focus Sash Atk+Spe)
>meowscarada (Spec Atk+Spe)
>corviknight (Leftovers HP+SpDef)
>garchomp (LumBerry Atk+Spe)
>azumarill (Sitrus HP+Atk)
>>
>>59176475
You would probably do better asking another Zard player. This team is tough for me personally, it hits a few of my weaknesses and I'd have to run some weird hybrid mode. You're not leaning as hard into sunlight as other zard players I've fought and I'm struggling with Sneasler right now and to a lesser degree Garchomp. I don't know if that's a strength or it's somehow hypertuned to be a nightmare for me personally.

Made it to MB on Sat and have sucked shit ever since with a Froslass team so this seems like it’d befun. I assume Max HP and Atk and Thick Fat as ability but what item would work best?

Do Pokemon have size differences here?
Because I just got myself a Sneasler in PLA from an Alpha H-Sneasel. Also, I have a Shiny Larvitar in PoGO and it's "the largest I've ver seen" acording to my team leader nigger woman

I suppose master rank is just a grinding challenge

It's like they specifically set out to design a breeder character who has sex with the pokemon. WHat's going on at Nintendo?

Is Heliolisk any good? I was thinking of going for Sand Veil cancer involving ParaFlinch instead of Dry Skin.
Something like Parabolic Charge/Discharge/Hyper Voice/Shed Tail or Protect or U Turn. Partnered with my stupid Temu Incineroar >>59175356
Dry Skin's the better one though right? Funny how they gave it three weather abilities though.
>>
>>
>>59176903
Nah. That's what the mouth breathers are playing. They're too stupid to build teams themselves so they copypaste the easy team that's simple to pilot. Probably got it from some youtube clickbait video. I farmed those teams before swapping to doubles to grind badges.

Floette is just a better Mega Garde in nearly every way
>higher hp
>higher def
>higher spdef
>higher speed
>no ghost weakness
>gets a fairy boost on both it's spread AND single target attack
The only thing Garde has over Floette is more coverage moves

>Transfer Bank mons fro (3)DS and before eras

>Sift trough boxes etc on Scarlet and Arceus
>Had been using rentals untill now
>Now get to use my own mons
>Feels different
Enjoyment increased by like 40% now that the Dragonite I use as my mega is my ancient old ass Dragonite I used in Fire Red, which I totally didn't cheat for with infinite money codes on my Action Replay so I could buy Dratini ASAP in that playtrough or anything..
Also using the Pelipper that I used in early Alola VGC as my rain setter(From the Double Duck team)
I mean, let's be real. Functionally speaking there's literally 0 difference between these Dragonite(Claire) and Pelipper(Samidare)
I EV'd them exactly the same as those rentals.
But it just feels different y'know...
These are MY Mons.
Go! Claire, The Champion!
Go! Samidare, The Once Well Trained!

So here's a funny story.
Two years ago I was breeding for a shiny Ralts in SwSh, never got it. Put the game down for some reason, can't remember why, and forgot about it. But with Champions out I've been going back to my old games to transfer my pokemon. And so I boot up my SwSh save file and find I've still got some eggs from the shiny hunt. Decided to hatch them because why not.
The first egg that hatched out of the bunch was a shiny.
I feel like this is a sign.

What's a good resource to find Pokemon with certain abilities or moves? Like if I want to find a taunt Pokemon available in Pokemon Champions. Surely there is something between the 100 or so Pokemon websites that exist.

Whats a good resource to see some teams?
Kinda wanna check out if there are any Mega Blastoise teams. Possibly rain with Shell Smash?
Although I fear Archualadon with Blastoise and then Peli/Toed as rain setter. That's just asking to be Electro Shot
>>

Alright, caught a Shiny Alpha Braixen in ZA, so now I'm going to commit to a double Mega option with Delphox and Gardevoir.
I'm probably going to drop my Sinistcha and MAYBE Incineroar since Basculegion can already fuck up 4/6s of my team.
>>
>>59176921
I've tried him on a sand team with veil. It's really rare for the ability to make a difference, even with bright powder/focus sash or situs berry. Shed tail is really good if you have a very bulky setup mon to switch into though. I was trying shed tail into Aggron and the sub would sometimes last 3 attacks, but usually 2.
Dry skin is just straight up the best ability he has though. He's decent as a water swap in maybe for like gyarados removal, but overall he's just slightly too weak, slightly too slow and very too squishy.

They are literally 1s and 0s and they can never leave champions.
I know pokemon has hammered the "you gotta love your pokemons and treat em right" message into your head for over a decade but come on man.
If you know you aren't gonna make a team with them then send em off to the farm
>>
>>59177105
>>59177105
>they can never leave champions.
Wait, if I send in a mon from HOME they are stuck in Champion FOREVER??
>>
>>59176985
They have much less in common than you would think. Gardevoir's strenght is almost entirely on its Fairy-type and Delphox is almost entirely on its Fire-type coupled with its high base speed. Being able to oneshot Gengar is a big thing for Delphox but more of a bonus for Gardevoir.
>>59176988
Honestly, I'm seeing Delphox getting used against Psyspam teams instead together. They would have to run something fringe like Shadow Ball just to touch Delphox with its high special defense. Psyspam is going to have to watch out Mega Metagross possible return as well, it eats most Psychic-types alive Delphox not-withstanding.

You run last respects Basculegion behind it. Whack in a tailwind user to set tailwind and then die with Glalie. Then maybe something incineroar to fakeout on the first turn basculegion comes in and parting shot whatever basculegion isn't 1hko-ing.
Probably one of the fastest ways to rank up at least at lower levels due to how little set up there is. Might not have the highest win rate but it will have some of the quickest average game times.

Anybody tried mega Victreebel much yet?
I'm seriously considering it just because I need a mega with grass/poison typing specifically, but talk around town about it isn't great.
Has it got an undiscovered niche and it's just copping insults because it looks kinda perverted/dumb, or is it just straight up bad?
>>
>>
>>

What's the best floette+delphox team rn. Ive been running garchomp sneasler aerodactyl incineroar but it just feels a little weak in some matchups. Ive seen some people swap out garchomp incineroar for basculegion kingambit. But havent tested it yet. My issue is that floette feels kinda weak in this setup without supporters, but could be skill issue.

Hazards are overrated but the fact literally nobody is running spin + no boots it might be worthwhile
I think you’d prefer rocks on bulkier teams since 3v3 favors heavy hitters that don’t need rocs to secure kills
>>
>>59177414
I was using this before but it creates such a strong reliance on Floette staying alive and felt weak vs tailwind team. Besides that I love the combo of Floette / Delphox, covers all matchups. I'm still tinkering with the last 4 slots though.

Reminder for when you encounter a Stalltist player.
>take your sweet time selecting moves and waste their time just as much as they waste yours
>if you are going to lose, just disconnect. You will not be punished.
I have encountered 20 people in the past 3 days using stall garbage, each one I disconnected and it has not ranked me down once. I'm free to just keep going up in ranks lmao.
No clue if they still get a win, but at least it doesn't count as a loss for me.
