Im currently playing the Arariboia campaign, after being done with Lautaro. And i must say, im actually having fun with this campaign. The flow and the design of the maps is so much better, theres so much more triggers and epic cutscenes, and it makes me so freaking mad because the Lautaro campaign in contrast feels like some shitty custom campaign from 2011. And even worst, they turned the biggest victory of an american tribe vs an european invader into a fucking Pocahontas movie. As a chilean im platinum mad for what they did. Fuck Forgotten Empires, im leaving a negative review on steam.

I'm against vikingspleet, but, if done, only two are needed: just a Denmark-Norway (Norse) and Swedish-Geats (Varangians) because those people groups (ie, civs are besides 3K) weren't diverse identities, mostly political

Hulk + galleon is better, of course if you no micro patrol a stack of galleons into the hulks of course they die. In feudal age fletching galleys kill hulks in 15 shots, imp galleons kills in 13.5 shots, you have good damage output you just need a frontline so you can protect your galleys. Byzantines are a little different, fire galleys are almost equal to hulks until attack upgrades come in

Lautaro was pretty annoying and Mapuche voicelines are so awful I can't stand playing them
If I ever hear a
>Mary Mary
again, I'll fucking snap.
Tupi voices are much better, with the female villager being top 5 sexiest females. The narration is quite bad though.
Muísca campaign was the best, THE SON OF THE SUN is such a compelling character, loved him even if the main dude was bland.
>>
>>
>>2355780
Mary Mary is so annoying it got stuck in my head and I don't even have the DLC, just from watching people play Mapuches.
Their battle cry is even worse, the one where the VA sounds like he's lowering his volume by the end.

I want these solely because we need more Eagle Warrior civs. Losing Incas in that pains me greatly and none of the new civs stupidly has no Eagle Warrior at all which is an enormous shame.

Replace xbow with LB and arbs with ELB, and give britons a new castle unit. Some type of special halberdier could be kino, but idk.
It's basically never worth it to go for LBs as it is, only in TG and on forward castle playstyles.

I spent some time today refining my ideas for Vlachs
>Defensive civ
>Get pastures and fortified churches
>Spears take -40% bonus damage
>Spears, Skirms and Light cav attack 20% faster starting from Feudal
>Fortified churches +2 range
>Pastures upgrades free
>Team Bonus: archers deal +2 against cavalry
>UU: Calaras (fragile Cav Archer strong against cavalry and gunpowder, weak against infantry and archers)
>UT Castle: Scorched Earth (enemy units receive additional damage near your own damaged buildings - not DoT or other crap like that, more like your own units getting hill bonus against enemy units near your damaged buildings)
>UT Imperial: Night Raids (Light Cav and Cav Archers including UU heal for 30% of damage inflicted)
>Barracks: no 2H, no gambesons
>Archery Range: no HCA
>Stable: no Pala
>Blacksmith: missing last melee attack, last inf and last cav armor
>Uni: no fortified walls, no keep, no architecture (overall meant to have weak conventional defenses which the boosted fortified church is meant to compensate for, both because of its novelty but also because it has a historical basis - Ottomans demanded that both Moldavia and Wallachia tear down existing fortifications and were forbidden from building new ones so Vlach voievods used to fortify churches instead and justify those as "minor defenses to deter raiders and bandits")
>Navy: not sure yet but really crappy and generic
>>
>>
>>2356197
>Another lightcav attack speed bonus
>Another cavalry lifesteal bonus
>Weird ass castle UT
Cool team bonus though, but it just pushes the civ towards a ton of different directions.
Also Pastures + Churches might be interesting.
>>
>>
>>2356203
Yeah, it's a bit weird because it turns out coming up with new stuff and worrying about balance and trying to avoid completely unique gimmicks is hard.
Basically I wanted to accomplish 3 things which I view as core to the civ identity:
>Meant to be a fragile civ both offensively and defensively that can't really win easily in a straight fight so instead relies on good trades, trash units and a mix of potent raids and very annoying to fight on their own home turf
>Implement both pastures and fortified churches as making the regional buildings more common would expose players to them more and make them less weird to play against + we do have solid historical basis to give Vlachs both
>Since cavalry was used extensively by everyone in the region and I envisioned this as a 3 civ DLC with Serbs and Dalmatians/ Sclaveni/ Whatever I wanted to give each one a different type, Serbs would get a heavy cavalry and the West Balkan civ needs the Stradioti, no other real choice desu than a cav archer
The idea with both UTs is that they are significant but situational bufrs to the Vlachs that would force the other player to prevent the Vlachs from fighting on their own terms, much like how Ottomans eventually dealt with them. As long as the Vlachs decide where and how you fight them they win but if you deny them the opportunity to harass you or be a general pain in the ass you can win since they are a fragile civ designed to slow you down and bleed you out.

I really like how civs in AoE4 actually have unique mechanics instead of a couple different units and modifiers. Would be cool to have a RoR-style DLC for it since I'm generally biased against all civilizations after antiquity.
>>
What do you guys think of this civ design I just came up with?
>Civ (Archer & Monk Civilization):
- Monks +1/+2 range (In Castle Age/Imperial Age)
- Units (10 pop space) can garrison and heal inside monasteries (2x the speed vs a Town Center)
- Towers (incl BBTs) costs -50s
- Wood cutters drop off 10% extra
- TEAM Bonus: Trade Carts +2/+1 Armor
>UTs:
- Castle: Palisade Walls gain 200% HP, +1/+1 Armor
- Imperial: Archer-line & Towers receive +2 attack against Infantry

Monk range is probably something that should not be messed with. Garrisonable monasteries is just fortified churches. Dropping off more wood is not a very interesting eco bonus and imp tech is kinda useless. Castle age tech, cheap towers and team bonus are interesting bonuses.

>Monk range is probably something that should not be messed with.
Why not?
>Garrisonable monasteries is just fortified churches.
No, because Fortified Churches shoot arrows and boosts eco etc. And I don't think they heal up units.
>Imp tech is kinda useless.
It would help a lot against Eagles, Champis, Huskarls, Ghulams, Champskarls, well all infantry units actually and is a way to get around not having Hand Cannoneers. I think techs that are situational and not great in every matchup or game are the best.

Monk range increase might be fine if the civ misses out on redemption/attornment, they would be able to convert stuff without them being able to fight back on closed maps.
Fortified churches heal at double the rate of castles.

cumans by far because at the time, patches came every 3 months, and unlike the champi rush you couldnt stop the cumans from double walling their base and just booming to castle with 20 steppe lancers
it hasnt even been 3 weeks and they are already fixing the SA civs
Khitans were also terrible but because the 3K was so unpopular there wasnt that many khitans pickers on the ladder

There's always a way to fight back. You could say the same about Briton Crossbow with their extra range. "Well Mangonels can't hit them anymore". That's just not true. Also monks are a niche unit. But OK thanks for your thoughts anyway.

they really raped the Incas this DLC, removed eagles and swordsmen and got this dogshit unit instead that is now completely useless, and slingers got way harder to make in the midgame since they're so food heavy now
Inca literally cannot do anything except straight archers now, there are no other viable options until imp, the american civ that used to be the flexible counter-focused one is now the most limited in options
and we didn't even have to pay for the DLC to get violated like this

I almost never research it outside of super campy games that last for 2 hours and you gotta wall in the trade or some shit
I feel like if you're stone walled already (which is a huge IF, I never have time nor res to do it) people are either gonna HOOOVER around your base waiting for an overchop or they'll just castledrop you and imp.
I only really see stone walls being destroyed in the very rare game someone decides to ram push, and I dunno how much time this tech saves you

Alright I suppose I should explain how these Oasis games roll out
Basically, our plan is to do a non-committal MAA/Scout rush while I quickly wall off our entire side with stone walls, so my pocket can quickly boom to imp and overwhelm the enemy with Tiger cav and me either flooding castle age pikemen or try to keep up getting to imp into halbs and siege
By the time our rushing units die, we are completely walled off safely and booming to castle age, and more often than not enemy players DO tend to push my walls, I get fortified walls since I was expecting for them to try siege my walls, moreso considering purple was Spanish and him fielding these OP castle age conqs was a real chance.
Besides, since I already have full huge walls might as well get fortified walls, might buy me more time to react to stuff.
Sadly that game in particular fortified walls did not do much, but between me having a wall of TCs, having a siege workshop at hand and teal coming in clutch with lancers, we won anyways
>>
>>2357624
>which is a huge IF, I never have time nor res to do it
The only real chance for you to stone wall off is by MAA rushing, already having sent vills before feudal age to the border of the map to wall the far sides, and maybe buy 100 stone at the market if you get unlucky with the forest spawns
Worth noticing, if there's an enemy Saracen in the other team, then this strat is useless, since the flank can actually destroy walls with archers in feudal age

Pretty much, MAA rush is the only rush that can actually afford you enough time to get walls up, Scouts and Archers are simply too slow and you will end fighting a long feudal war instead of comfy booming behind walls.
And mind you need a good MAA rush civ too, doubt any generic civ could pull this kind of strat. Also have a decent pocket with a fast feudal up time but knows when to stop making Scouts (usually at 4 ot 5)

Turns out Mapuche imperial tech bonus making everyone UU's cheaper, including teal's Persian war elephant, on top of blue unit convertion resistance, made this push literally unstoppable
>>
>>

My civilization being in the game is not enough, it should be split into every single town in the country and mine would have me as the unique unit and I would have a 9999 range monk beam, infinite vision, 999999999999 hp and the monk beam would make all enemies explode in 0.1s and my walkspeed would be 666 and have 99999999 armor for everything and spawn boars while garrisoning.

Don't worry about shit too much, just learn a basic build order for the first 15ish villagers then vibe from there, this game's at its most fun when you just adapt
For Dark Age you wanna make between 19 to 25ish vills depending on your intentions for Feudal: the more vills you make, the more resources you will gather while your TC is researching the age up tech, which means you'll be able to do more stuff once you're actually in Feudal. But if you're too greedy, you'll end up getting rushed by a Feudal army while you haven't clicked up yet, which is usually game over

What is stopping you from revisiting them, anon? Do the tales of past victories get bleak? Do the old wounds ache and the old scars bleed? To walk an aged battlefield, to stand amongst the spears and the shields, to gaze upon the resting places of the fallen. To conjure their faces from nameless personas, to hear the warcries and camp songs no longer uttered, to honor the people and why they died in this place.
Then to take up the sword once again and go forth to battle. That is what it is to be a warrior, to be Spartan.
And if every bloody Athenian has to pay the price of it, so be it.

I managed to win a match against moderate AI. This was my second match in the game and I'm getting the gits of it. Still need to learn the ratios of how many villagers put for each resrouces. What is confusing me right now is all the kind of troops etc and how to form a good army and the order of buildings. Before Feudal Age I always build the Wooden Farm and the Mill of course but should I build the thingy that spawns soldiers too?
>>
>>
>>
>>2358700
Put your Mill on berries, hunt deer with 4 villagers (they bring back the entire animal worth of food in one trip), pull boar with just 1 and bring it towards the town center before shooting with the other vills (you can garison them to do it)
You should usually make a Barracks while you're advancing to the Feudal Age unless you want to rush some Militia earlier than that.
>>
>>2358943
Oh ok so for food I should kill all the animals around right? I usually move the sheeps or cows that I control to the Town Center but I disregard the other animals. I thought the berries were a faster way to gather food. I tried sometimes to bring the boar to the center and kill it with villagers inside the Town Hall but I have to improve my coordination and hotkeys. Thanks for the tips
>>
>>2359001
Hunting is much faster than berries so taking the animals first is a good way to pocket some more food to advance to Feudal Age.
IIRC fishing with villagers is even faster so if you're in a map with shore fish it's useful to take that early too.
>>
>>
>>2358943
Long distance hunting is not advisable for going up 20 pop or quicker, time spent walking means you are not gathering food in that time. Little tricks like this aren't going to help a total noob, after the 3 on wood stick as many people as you can fit on the boar and then make a mill on berries because you need the mill to go up, if your hunters are idling under the TC put them on sheep. You want to always be able to make a stable/range on age up because otherwise there is no point in going feudal age, always get wood upgrades and delay your farm upgrades until you are set up to produce military. If he uses hotkeys, makes villagers consistently, builds houses and farms and produces army that will get him high on the ladder
>>2359419
You can't do a lot to the creation time because that will weaken the feudal age champi opening, the main problem with champi is that they are much more capable of laming than militias, drop their dark age speed and that changes, literally the only problem with champis is that they can end the game in five minutes and it is an easy strategy for anyone to win with
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>2359488
You are underestimating the distance heavily, whats more "do this to get more resources" doesn't help somebody who doesn't know how to use it in the first place, if its safe mill it, if its not safe use wood to make farms which are safe, the food you have doesn't last forever, it is good to diversify and gradually make farms
>>
>>
>>2359488
>>2359504
Yeah I learned how to lure and kill boars safely and I'm learning how to push other animals to the TC. I'm using the Follow command for the knight troop but it doesn't always work correctly. Is it too much of a waste of time to make villagers kill animals that are somewhat far? Also I'm getting used to hotkeys, right now my Feudal age time is 10 minutes and 30 seconds with Mill + Lumber. I need a guide though like there are so much upgrades and shit to learn. Dark Age is rather simple but what about the others? SHould I upgrdaea my mill before placing farms? Should I Loom right after Feudal Age? When should I build barracks and mine and how many people should I place on mines? These are the questions I want to understand. Also military is a whole other ordeal that seems very complicated with all the upgrades and shit. I would love to have a blueprint with general informations to follow.
>>
>>2359710
You should loom before fuedal, like right before if you want to be safe.
Barracks can usually wait until you basically start upgrading to fuedal unless you want to do some sort of militia rush in which case you might do it really early. Economic techs are usually best researched early, The most important being the wood upgrades, the first two farm upgrades and gold mining upgrades, stone mining upgrades are the least important. Wheelbarrow and handcart at the Town center are important, but are most important for farms.
The best way to think of military is to sort of group techs together.
Going infantry? Then you want the baracks techs and then the melee attack upgrades and infantry armor in the blacksmith.
Going cavalry? Then all the stable techs, the melee attack upgrade and cavalry armor at the stable
Going ranged units, You want the ranged attack upgrades and ranged armor at the blacksmith and then mainly Ballistics in castle age and Chemistry in imperial at the university
Going heavy on defenses, the university has upgrades for building armor/health, as well as tower upgrades, and building speed upgrades. The university also has upgrades for ships.
The castle will have a few important upgrades as well, usually your unique techs which are case by case basis, as well as conscription which is a production speed boost which is important.
Lastly long distance hunting is bad mainly because of the walking time. you want to minimize walking time of villagers to maximize their gathering time.

Farm upgrades now give proportional returns to existing farms so it isn't important to get it right away, at lower elos you can but at higher elos making military with those resources is better.
If I go man at arms I build lumber camp then barracks then mining camp and mill so I can have the 3 militia ready and send them to his base earlier, otherwise you just want the barracks ready before feudal age. You mine gold when you need it for military or you have the food income to go castle age, man at arms you need about 2 on gold, you can take villagers off gold if you are following up with skirms but you need 50 gold for fletching. Archers you need about 4 per range, 5 helps you squeeze in fletching too.
As for upgrades it is highly important to get fletching/bodkin/bracer for ranged units as it gives them more dps and more range, melee should get armor first, and cavalry wants armor and bloodlines because armor lets you fight archers and raid under town centers.

A unit that throws AoE3 torches at buildings.
Thinking about dealing as much damage as swordsmen, maybe less, but with 3 range when targeting buildings. Only superior when at critical mass. Better at destroying palisades than swordsmen even with only a few since they can focus fire targets with small frontage.
Otherwise is a swordsman expy. Maaaybe a soft counter to archers due to archer armor.
Would such a unit be a bad idea?

Either due to a lack of sources in English or because the most common results when searching for "church walls" is about the painted exteriors.
A lot ot them where also rebuilt in the 17th-19th century, like pic related (Golia, Iasi, Moldavia).

A lot of these are annoying to find btw because online photos either focus on the church itself and barely feature the surrounding walls or they are misattributed, but I grew up in that area and went to a lot of them on school trips and they usually feature small but thick stone walls, some big towers and all of the buildings that constitute the monastery (church, dormitory etc.) in the inner courtyard which a lot of the time is quite large (some of them are a couple of football fields put toghether large).
It's also a bit dubious exactly which one is period appropriate or not because as I said sometimes new structures were added later on during 17th-19th or straight up rebuilt since most if not all of them have always been in use since first built, including today.

Last one for now, Cetatuia (Moldavia again because I'm more familiar with it).
As to why I mention these as a reason for fortified churches specifically, it's because there aren't really any real fortifications otherwise, apart from what were the "princely seats" I guess, very few castles and most towns/ cities either had wooden or no walls otherwise, while the stone walls surround just the monasteries themselves (which were built on hills around the historical towns/ cities typically, not as part of them).
Some have been "consumed" by urban expansion but to reach others you still have to go into the woods for a bit and climb steep hills to reach.

They're Arabized Greeks who adopted some customs of their Norman and Spaniard masters, totally different than the Lombards. Medieval Sicily's wealth during the matched that of the polentone oligarchs, which is why the Hauteville, Hohenstaufen, and Barcelonès fought so hard to maintain them, against other Imperial, Papal, French, and Islamic, opposition, much more often to their credit and Sicily's advantages.
They are also used to catchall the Normans, just like how the Burgundians are the Low Countries

Yeah, in hindsight I was trying to mirror other similar team bonuses which was a mistake because ranged units have to be treated a bit differently. Maybe just +1 (this might still be strong but not as oppressive).
My initial idea was to make tributes free but it sounded useless in 1v1 and not that good in team games either.
Anyway, the whole thing is a bit outdated, I kept working on it but will post everything once I'm done with Serbs and Dalmatians (which are meant to be a mix of the Venetian colonies in the Balkans, Ragusans, Albanians, Croatians, Bosnians, etc.).
I did come up with an idea to have the Hajduk as a regional replacement for HC but I'm struggling a bit to balance it (my idea was for them to be faster but with less damage).

I come bearing forbidden knowledge: Celt towers are actually absolutely top tier in terms of damage output. Especially against low armor targets like archers but even against high armor raiding units like FU hussars or paladins Celt keeps do 15+% more DPS than generic FU keeps.
Of course you pay for it by having one less range but if you're filling your eco with them as defense or supporting a slow push that doesn't really matter. They still outrange everything that isn't siege.

Plus, we already have

Anon, I don't want to rain on your parade, but medieval Bohemian architecture was just as cabin-based with stone used in cities as the Russian one.
Look up Řepořa, Archeoskanzen Troncov, the oldest non-stone house in Rtyně or the sole log cabin church in all of Germany... built by Bohemian exiles in the 17th century.
Bohemian architecture tracks alongside Polish, Hungarian, Slovak, Ukrainian, Belarussian, Swedish and indeed even Russian traditions.
Wooden log houses take precedence, only non-natives (i.e. various would-be Germans) build half-timber buildings using wattle and daub (mostly) or bricks (Baltic shoreline) to fill in the walls that define that typical look of medieval English, French, Dutch or indeed German buildings.
Explanations for it range from the simple fact that Bohemia and the others had much lower population density and thus wood was easier to come by, thus never forcing people to start saving and filling out the rest with dirt and dung; to things like the climate where Bohemia, Poland, etc. all live in a Continental climate unlike France, England, Germany which are overwhelmingly still more temperate due to Gulf Stream's influence and can thus afford shittier, thinner walls without freezing up.
Of course, arguing about the architecture styles in AoE2 is fairly silly in the first place. They're complete bullshit. Both the """Central European""" and """Eastern European""" styles have Orthodox Monasteries, for instance. To name just one of a billion absurdities all around. It really doesn't matter.
You'd be better off putting that effort in a game whose devs give an actual fuck, like Manor Lords. Get that to make an "Eastern Central Europe" expansion or DLC pack (the dev being Polish) where they touch up the details like using logs or planks instead of half-timber frames to get that historically accurate Bohemian/Polish/Hungarian/Ruthenianlook on everything. Everything else is identical to the Franconian stuff already in the game.

This game is so scummy in few places, I don't even. It punishes hard a player who wants to rush:
>siege workshop doesn't have indication of unit being produced
>garrisoned onager will shoot immediately when released
>juggling with monk garrisoning to lose auto attack focus
>and just recently in TTL, Hera just pauses due to "lag" when being rushed with ACCM's siege rams
It's those bullshits like this which makes aggresive playstyle against Hera/Viper a laughable attempt.
- enemy building should glow when it produces unit. Or at least siege workshops.
- there should be a delay when garrisoning and extra penalty when unit is released from garrison
Because defense should rely on proper planning and not on microing BS. Defender has enough advantage already, while aggressor must switch camera between camps.
>>
>Hera doing Hera things again
The guy's really fucking good, obviously
but MY GOD I can't believe he can get away withmaking 182 villsand then sweeping the whole series
>>2365698
Unfortunately Hera's the best defending player in the game, anyone else would have crumbled really hard in that same position
Not to mention, ACCM's play was suboptimal:
>first castle was far too safe despite him knowing that Hera was going for a super fast uptime into monks (so he could've never responded with army or a castle of his own)
>he never bothered controlling the south side of the map, so Hera was able to go for 8 undisturbed TCs
>ram push was destined to fail from the very start, he was gonna maybe take down 1 or 2 TCs AT BEST despite being an all-in push
>second castle achieved absolutely nothing
>committed to mass monks with no walls nor gates despite seeing the massed light cav
Defending is far harder than attacking, since you also have to manage an economy behind it, but ACCM failed at a fundamental level during G2
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>2365744
It's also extremely hard to pull off without excellent micro and control, all the while you're booming on 4 TCs and your survival depends on managing a smaller number of units
It's kinda like defending one TC by garrison juggling a bunch of xbows against 2 mangos: it's possible and it looks stupid, but it's also really fucking hard

I remember him losing a match once in the past because he didn't read the patch notes, he doesn't own the DLC, dude just coasts with pure talent because the level of competition is that low. On the other side you have Hera. Do you get a kick out of lying online?
His game froze for a long time, when he regained control the rams were already on his TC. If not for the lag, he would have stopped them sooner and with smaller losses.
Those were battering rams, they were in castle age.
Rest of your post is just you being mad about micro. Defender's advantage enables comebacks, it's good for the game. If what you proposed was implemented, we would have a lot more brainless rushes working every time and games would never reach imp.

Anon, he was playing Ethiopians most of the time instead of Shu or Vietnamese which are far better archer civs. He also tried playing Japanese as a cavalry civ until chat forced him to go for a real one. He contemplated Magyars but no eco bonus was rough. Wei is a natural option to go for, especially for a guy who's "new" to the game and enjoys experimenting with unique stuff.
>>
>>2367285
He has never played a bad civ. Ethipians are also good. I didn't say that he only plays top civs, I said he clearly cares about civ strength while pretending to be someone who just plays what he likes.
>Wei is a natural option to go for, especially for a guy who's "new" to the game and enjoys experimenting with unique stuff.
We must be watching different players because he does not experiment with new stuff. He never researched Torsion Engines even once while playing Ethipians. He likes comfort. He went with wei because he is having success with them (because they are strong).

He wants to get good at the game. Going out of his way to play a bad civ would be counterproductive and only slow down his progress for no reason.
No, Ethiopians aren't a good civ. They were good maybe five years ago. Nowadays they are at best okay, unless you're liereyy. Not bad but nothing special either. Simply playable. Their only great quality is having a straightforward gameplan which was perfect for someone learning ranked.
>I said he clearly cares about civ strength while pretending to be someone who just plays what he likes.
That's just your personal schizo delusions. Playing what you like doesn't mean playing bad civs. People are allowed to like good civs. In fact, people tend to like good civs more and there's nothing weird about it. After Grubby decided he's done with Ethiopians because he played a lot of games with them, he wanted cavalry + cav archer civ with good eco. There aren't many options for that combo. It's also probably why he was mistakenly treating Japanese as a cavalry civ.
>He never researched Torsion Engines even once while playing Ethipians.
That's wrong, he researched it a couple of times. You don't see it much because it's a super late game tech that's rarely worth going for. 90% of games end before you even get the chance to click it and in remaining 10% of games, it would be a bad decision 9 times out of 10.
>He likes comfort.
I have a feeling you never followed Grubby much because you are very wrong about him. Watching the game where he got tower rushed and responded in kind should be enough of a proof to dispel your claim honestly. He's the sort of player who likes experimenting on his own instead of looking up what's meta and following guides. He prefers coming up with his own build orders and strategies. He actually used Shotels and Royal Heirs more than anyone I've seen, often surprising the chat with how effective they were in various situations.

I would have read your entire post if you handn't already misinterpreted my point. I don't want him to play bad civs, I want thim to say
>Yea I chose wei because I was looking for a strong cav civ
My very first sentence was
>I don't mind people choosing strong civs
I have more grubby watch hours than you have, be it wc3 or aoe2.
>>
>>2367334
Your point is your personal delusions and getting autistically mad that people don't follow your personal standards to a T. There's not much to misinterpret when you can't even state it properly in the first place. I was simply trying to make some sense out of your posts but now, by refusing to engage in a discussion when presented with multiple actually structured points, you made it clear you have no interest in having a conversation, you just wanted to whine mindlessly and got unhappy when someone opposed you instead of agreeing. Grow up.
>>
>>
>>
>>2367390
You started the "conversation" by vaguely whining and making up shit about other person's motivations. When pressed with arguments, you cowered in fear and deflected into being butthurt about mean comment and refused to say anything except personal attacks. You really aren't in a position to make such comments.

they really need to let arabiabots like me just play the one map we like, i'm tired of resetting the game whenever I get other maps
>but if we allow that, other people wanting to play other maps won't be able to find more people to play!!!
they don't care about me not wanting to play those maps and being forced to but for some reason i have to care about them
they can play with each other instead of ruining it for the majority of ranked players who just wanna play arabia

>he destroyed my eagle army I used to kill the CA
You shouldn't play egalos vs Franks, knights beat eagles, CA beat eagles, if you have some crossbows left over they should deal with cav archers just fine, if he really insists on using cav archers then you can add skirms, Aztec monks completely destroy knight spammers.
>a dude who walled early, some fucking how took all the relics and on top of the wall placed a defensive castle, making my xbow army completely useless, I had no way to break in and for some reason his eco was better than mine
How do you break walls?
With siege
>yet ANOTHER guy who some fucking how was completely walled before my MAA hit him when I did an 18pop MAA rush (wtf is it with super early walling today?), he later just spammed xbow+kt and rekt me
So you went up even earlier and didn't get any damage, go up when you can immediately place a range because man at arms needs a follow up.

Ironic considering non arabia maps are usually full with people perfecting one single strat with one single civ. Couldn't help but nooootice the the very few times I played Arena/Nomad/Megarandom I always played against Turks/Spanish/Mongols respectively. And I'm not interested in the laming fest that is Black Forest.

Dude most recent tournament had every single DLC civ banned every single match, previous tournament had siege towers insta-disqualify.
Phosphoru single handedly caused Fire Lancer, Siege Tower, Fortified Church amongst other nerfs.

I like to pretend I'm megaman and absorb the power of those whom I defeat.
If I win a game, I have to play the next game with the civ of my previous adversary.

I'm trying to decide which civ to main, I want something that is going to be adequate on most maps that has a full tech tree. Currently I just play civs for cheese strats like phospheru but I want to get better at other maps. Needs to have redemption monks, bombard cannons, decent trash (at least 2 fully upgraded trash units).

You can kill yourself now.
>all the time
pathetic backpedalling
You claimed it's impossible to happen outside of smurfing at low elo. Meanwhile it works in a tournament between top players. Also, the point wasn't even about the total effectiveness but merely the mechanics of the strat and the fact that you attack with unique units while enemy is still in feudal age. That's normal with Phosphoru strats, you're just ignorant and prefer making up shit instead of educating yourself.

As an event organiser, you can't make a tournament and simply exclude the best player, not unless you want to get massively sabotaged by both fanbase and players (most pros are on friendly terms with each other, not to mention that they would see it as an unfair threat to themselves as well: "What if tomorrow I am the dominant one and then I also get unfairly excluded?")
You can only hope that people step the fuck up

Vipurr had every chance to qualify and he got canned regardless
I know people are attached to the guy but he could at least put in some effort

Just looked through and Bohemians look like a solid pick, no light cav, no plate barding armor, however their halbs are one of the best and their cannons are also one of the best and they have all the monk techs and they have some good memes as well.
You can do Persians if you are okay with having worst monks in the game.

Is T90 a better coach than Hera?
>Hera: Remember to chop the right trees and always go crossbows
>T90: Find the style of play that you are comfortable with
Maybe pro advice is not that good for players who are not pros

They would be good if they were a balanced unit and not the OP unit that all the top civs have access to..

Might want to stop carpet bombing civilian infrastructure if you want to be invited into civilized world events, subhuman vatnigger. Go make your own AoE2 tournament just like the olympics and football tournaments and hockey tournaments.
>>
I wish AoE 3 was more popular. I just love early gunpowder. I love gunpowder in general. Lasers or arrows are dumb. The popping sound the muskets make in AoE3 just sound so satisfying, specially when you have a huge army and hearing them all go off in almost unicen with a few straggler pops... so good damn. AoE3 had some good sound design. Everything really sounded authentic and poweful.
>>
>>2368944
Oh my mistake, it all blends together with all the woke and black worship you americans have
It's funny, you call people of other nationalities brown yet you're the only nation in the world that literally worship niggers. Aint that a kick in the head?

>>2368979
I'd enjoy AoE3 a lot more if it had no home city card bullshit. Making decks is annoying and sending shipments is just ass.
>Fighting enemy
>About to win with small army
>They suddenly receive 25 hussars under their TC
>Clears up my army
>Gets to my base
>I receive 30 halbs out of nowhere to clear his army
It's just illogical and ugly.

>How are fire lancers OP
Ridiculous HP and a ranged attack, you can't play castle age infantry, you can't play cavalry, the only real counter is mangonels/archers. The HP makes them a threat even in imp because they can just walk under castles no problem. And they are an infantry unit that doesn't cost food.
The statistics back this up, fire lancer civs were frequently banned and most have a positive win rate in kotd, I don't think a 5 wood increase in cost did a lot to nerf them. Hera always banned Koreans in KoTD 6 so maybe the unit is not balanced don't you think?
https://liquipedia.net/ageofempires/King_of_the_Desert/6/Statistics
If you still think Fire Lancer is a balanced unit you are retarded
>>2368962

It's mostly American thing to ban Russians from traditional sports, because they're afraid of competition, especially at Olympics. Small esports like aoe2 simply follow the example.
>>2369080
>>2368962
There's plenty of other countries who are at war but their players don't get banned. Fuck off with your double standards.

Retarded troglodyte / disingenuous troll. Longswords never were and never will be a viable option. Expensive and time consuming to upgrade, slow to move, weak in fights and food heavy (worst possible resource split in castle age). If you try going longswords as a """counter""" to fire lancers it will take you five minutes to field a single unit and it will die instantly to ranged attack assuming barracks weren't taken down before or your eco didn't get wiped.
