It might be the first K-On wallpaper I've used that I didn't already have on my computer first (and all my PCs have had K-On wallpapers for about a decade now).
k-on is my favorite this is my current wallpaper i will post others but if anyone could share more like this in a pattern style with other colors that'd be cool
I'm sure you'll all like this: Here is a google photos folder with the illustration archives from the K-ON Movie. Tons of amazing wallpapers in there. I saved it locally on my pc just in case it ever goes down https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipPyIcXVkgt3BnQoFsnCwF5REiYJwxysGBBgppY2yczvKridz0_6LSM7HYCi4myCqw?key=NVRKdWZDNkN5VmRfVUNJY2V4WEtVRm5PbGNWWm13
>>2166693 Your not alone dude. Still my favourite comfy sol type show of all time.
Nice artstyle is certainly part of it. Believable but still kinda over the top cute characters. Super cute interaction between the characters. Some shows to me just feel kinda too forced in this or just off. Great voice acting. Alongside nice songs Satisfying length of the show, doesn't drag on for sure and doesn't feel too short (beyond always wanting more of a good show).
I think its just got the best balance of realistic to super moe cute of any show around. makes the characters and story more satisfying to me.
>>2177283 Wow, I really like this one. 99% of the K-On! art I see that uses a different art style than the show looks terrible, but this one is really nice. >>2177282 >Stuff with semi-realistic backgrounds and that sort of jazz I don't think I have anything like that, but I think pic related is a very aesthetically pleasing Mugi pape.
>>2177963 ...but that one's kinda low-resolution, so I did a bit of digging and found the render that was used to make it, so I'll post that in case you want to make your own size or whatever:
>>2180282 It's a screenshot from the movie, so 1920x1080 is already the highest native resolution of it. However, there's an upscaler tool called Waifu2x that gives incredible results: https://github.com/nagadomi/waifu2x Pic related is what I got when I ran it through at 2x.
this is probably a long shot but i made a bunch of k-on vector wallpapers around 2011, most of them were pretty average but there was a Mugi wallpaper i really liked. it was based on a screenshot of her in the nurses outfit, but it was all pink and white if i remember correctly. unfortunately all my old wallpapers from that time are lost on some backup drive somewhere, so i was wondering if any friendly anons happened to have it. sorry in advance if this is breaking any board rules, i dont go on /w/ much these days
Does anyone have a 4k image of all the keions with their instruments? I'm trying to get a giant mousepad and I'm pretty sure a 1080 image is gonna look like shit. I'll keep searching but if anyone has one that would be most excellent <3
>>2190270 Oh also I'd like to point you to my post up here >>2180815 that mentions Waifu2x, it's a tool that you can use to make high-quality AI upscales of anime pictures. So if there's a 1080p image you like you could easily make a big version of it with that.
Saving the thread again Hope my K-On bros are doing well. It's nearing the end of another semester, and it occurs to me that I've been posting in these threads since I transferred to my university for engineering school a couple years ago. Time flies.
>>2198391 >Any K-on! x Haruhi wallpapers? I've never seen any, which now that I think about it is kinda weird considering how close together those two shows were made.
>>2166693 Same here, and this >>2166881 guy gets it. I felt a similar thing with the first season of Love Live, mainly because of all the hype and the mobile game. Yuru Camp was another one recently. K-ON was my first moeblob and SoL anime and it aired around the time I started watching anime, so I got to experience the hype of the moment. Still waiting for them to do at least an OVA of K-ON College and Highschool (probably won't happen). A new manga is being published, but it has different characters (apart from the teacher), so it wouldn't feel the same.
>>2216101 Seems like 4chan clips the color gamut of the image a bit. The original might look better in certain software on certain monitors, so I uploaded it to catbox. https://files.catbox.moe/yn2oye.jpg
>>2216117 No, the original image in this case was composed in a slightly non-standard color format (Adobe RGB). I'm no expert on these things, so I left it alone, but seems like some programs (and 4chan) don't like Adobe RGB. One more try, I converted the image to GIMP sRGB this time. Let's see if 4chan takes it. If it looks good with this one, then I'd recommend using this over the others for compatibility across programs.
>>2177963 >>2177964 Needed a higher res version of the original so tried to make my own. It's not a 1:1 match since my screen ratio is different but posting in case anyone else could get use out of it.
>>2180815 That one works pretty well. There is another one that works on the same software but runs natively on wangblows called caffe-waifu2x. It has a few more options and supports batches.
Also, much love to you and all my K-On bros... for some reason I'm feeling a bit sentimental right now about having maintained these threads for years at this point.
Holy wow, this thread is still alive. I can't believe I've been posting in this thread since 2019, and I was posting in the previous K-On! thread for like a year before that one got made.
Looks like my last post in here was last May. Thank you all for keeping the thread alive.
>>2166881 You should go on mangadex and look up, Sewayaki Kitsune no Senko-san. The nice thing about these manga is its charm, Its charm is being very cute and wholesome.
>>2187258 drummer here. thanks for this. made this my wallpaper by my drumset during gigs and getting a ribbing from some band mates but idk. ritsu is best girl
>>2187765 this was posted the day i finished K-ON, good god it's been half a decade already. this show changed my life and my love for it is indescribable reuping old pape from 2021
>>2166693 I read K-On initially and just thought it to be a silly 4koma and didn't really have much of an impact on me (although it was funny in some places). I watched the anime back in like 2012 (year or two after its release) and I loved it, thought it was so comfy and just a lovely world to escape to. I concur with another poster here that Ritsu is by far and above the best k-on, if not best girl in slice-of-life (apart from maybe Osaka). I re-watched the anime in like 2020 during Covid (just for something to do/distraction). And holy shit the ending got me that time more than anything had done in years. I think I cried for like an hour. I'd just hit that age where I realised how precious the time you have with your friends in school/college are, and that shit isn't something you find almost at all in the 'real' world (unless you're lucky or work very hard at it). It was almost as if I was grieving my past life through these characters. Because of the above I just can't watch it anymore, it's an incredibly bittersweet anime for me now. But man, it was an experience. >inb4 faggot >inbr reddit
>>2266857 I first watched k-on my freshman year of college. I had 0 friends and I finished it a few days after halloween, everyone was out with friends for the festivities and I felt especially lonely at the time. The ending also made me cry, maybe not for an hour, but for a while. I wish I had a wholesome friend group to go on adventures with like they did in K-ON but I realize that I will never have that. The comfort and accomplishment shared between the friends at the end of K-On will never be known by me so I also feel bittersweet.
>>2198578 this seems like such a perfect wallpaper for transparent taskbar. i can just imagine the windows start button and taskbar icons on the pink bar at the bottom
>>2266992 It's interesting to see how people with different experiences in life can still be moved by art even though they might not reach it via the same way or even have the same conclusions. Thank you for your reply anon.
>>2267039 I watched K-On and it made me get back into playing bass and I started going to song circles and open mikes and now I've done a few actual paying gigs. Mio-senpai has unironically made my life better
