im looking for a depressing manga with characters who love each other to an unhealthy degree. it could be unrequited as well, they just need to be clingy and love the other enough for it to be fucked up. i'm not really into yandere shit, but i'm willing to read it if it sounds good. i've read oyasumi punpun, welcome to the NHK, and happy sugar life.

yeah, that would be perfect. i just find portrayals of people who harm themselves more interesting and realistic than characters that straight up kill everyone that tries to touch the person they're interested in

>This story involves a non-romantic example, but it might fit what you are looking for:
To be clear I think the dynamics count as love, just the non-romantic kind.
I dont want to give out spoilers, but it should be pretty obvious when you get to it in the story.

Mysterious Girlfriend X
I think the anime is more popular but the manga was the original. Tells the story of a guy who gets addicted to spit from a girl in his class and literally needs it to survive, but as time goes on they begin to develop actual feelings for each other.
Welcome to the N.H.K might be my favorite anime/manga of all time and Mysterious Girlfriend X can be just as cringe inducing (if not more-so.) It follows the same storyline of boy needs girl, girl needs boy. Might be exactly what you're looking for if you look past the spit stuff (unless you're into that, than yw)
