Also imagine how hype it would have been if Darui was introduced earlier in the series than the Summit as a minor antagonist and this time we'd get to root for him as one of the good guys / sort of anti-hero.. Actually that goes for most of the other village's shinobi. Kishi should have introduced them all waaaay sooner in different ways before the war arc
But regardless Darui is cool as fuck here, never really appreciated him before

I must've been in full sunk cost fallacy mode to be reading this shit weekly. The worst part was that no one could've predicted that this war would drag on for as long as it did.
>>288525955 Maybe I should've specified "East Asian" because Japanese to this day have imperial family to parade around and while Chinese history is tumultous, early on they developed the Mandate of Heaven concept, because they felt uncomfortable with the thought of someone removing emperor on a whim.

>>288526762 for much of history the imperial family was merely a religious and political symbol that they kept around for stability; east asian countries were often very chaotic whenever they didn't have a strong central government in control
>>288525484 Hizashi sounds even more cucked here than when he killed himself. >>288525493 >Offscreened resolution Thx kishi also, does this imply that main and side branch never fought side by side? And for back up, tag teams and such? This sounds stupid.

>>288526665 >I've seen it suggested that instead of introducing 12 konoha ninjas that barely do anything, the chunin exam should have introduced a much more varied group of characters from all kinds of different villages It would have made a lot more sense for the setting too. The Chunin Exam was supposed to expand the world by introducing the main cast to the world's villages. Except past the Forest of Death, we got 12 Konoha shinobi, 3 sand, and 3 sound (all die and sound doesn't really matter past part 1). Plus Kabuto's squad of jobbers + him. The only staying power that was introduced by the Chunin Exams were the Sand. It would have made much more sense to introduce them given the Jinchuriki are spread out around the world between the 5 major powers, and seeing these former genin from the Chunin exam battle it out with the Akatsuki would have made a lot more narrative sense. ESPECIALLY since the main theme of Naruto is ending the cycle of hatred between nations/peoples. Having Team 7 actually interact with people from other sides of the world and form friendships/rivalries, then maybe have to be confronted by them later on as rogue Leaf shinobi like Sasuke terrorize their villages would display how friends become either willing or unwilling enemies, and the true horror of war is killing people that have more in common with you than not. Which is why Naruto really sucks, it's a lot of wasted potential.
>>288526762 THe chinese Mandate of Heaven, unlike the european divine right of kings, can be transferred though. And for most of japanese history the defacto rulers were Shoguns, which is a militar title.
>>288526847 Focusing on side characters when they had a chance to matter would've been good. Now Naruto is already so powerful nobody besides Kage is relevant and the side characters are just fighting mindless zombies anyways.
>>288527150 >fighting 100k clones and a few dozen zombies is ALL OUT WAR!!! >it lasts 2 days >like 4 people die God, I fucking hate this entire "war" so much.
>>288527068 >Jinchuriki are spread out around the world between the 5 major powers, and seeing these former genin from the Chunin exam battle it out with the Akatsuki would have made a lot more narrative sense. >ESPECIALLY since the main theme of Naruto is ending the cycle of hatred between nations/peoples. i think you have a cool idea. if it was what happened, i would like for all of then to stay dead after losing the bijuu. or i would just not make the akatsuki the main plot. maybe have a couple of them die or something then defeat the akatsuki and move on. the endgoal is retarded anyway.
and i like your idea for a war more than what we got but kishi probably wouldn't have been able to pull it off. he hates conflicts with actual dilemmas and actively avoids them. i like your general idea of introducing more characters from other villages too.
>>288527352 >i feel like part 2 would become a chain of rescue arcs with all the jinchuriki There is a lot that could be done. A jinchuriki could escape Akatsuki, but then fall into the hands of another village. There could be plotting between the villages in general, where they actually try to get the other jinchuriki killed by Akatsuki to strengthen their own position. There could be other jinchuriki saving Naruto when he is attacked. The possibilities are endless.
Even with minimal changes, imagine if Yugito had been the instructor of one of the teams at the chunin exam and Naruto became close with them, then Yugito would be captured while protecting her team and they'd be desperate to save her, while realizing they can't stand up to Akatsuki.
>>288527068 adding: the jinchuriki weren't thought out by the chuunin exams but aside from that, i feel if they did introduce more of them there it would make naruto's conflict with gaara less impressive. naruto would see a lot of people who are "just like him fr". the general idea of just introducing more people from other villages is good though.
>>288527601 maybe. i feel the akatsuki become more of a side piece here and the main conflict becomes other villages fucking with each other. it could be a neat setup for a war.
>yugito could be interesting. i'm kinda conflicted. it would be better implementation of the jinchuriki but it would lead to a lot of rescue arcs overall. i'm talking about the jinchuriki as a whole in this scenario. part 2 already had a lot of searching for people/things/waiting around, etc. and it was pretty boring.
>>288527699 >maybe. i feel the akatsuki become more of a side piece here and the main conflict becomes other villages fucking with each other I'd imagine it more as Naruto and his friends seeing Akatsuki as the main threat, while the higher ups in the villages are caught up in their realpolitik, which allows Akatsuki to be successful (as opposed to them just walking into villages, capturing their strongest ninja and walking back out).
>it would lead to a lot of rescue arcs overall It wouldn't even have to lead to a rescue arc to be a big improvment, just from the emotion it introduces. That being said, the arc already is a worse version of a rescue arc, where they instead run at the Akatsuki to get revenge for a bald monk, while the jinchuriki plot is completely disconnected.
>>288527801 >while the higher ups in the villages are caught up in their realpolitik, could work i guess. you already have something similar in the kazekage arc i guess with an elder wanting to just leave gaara for dead. but nothing comes of it. all the villages could have their own opinions on their jinchuriki and how to approach this matter.
>the arc already is a worse version of a rescue arc, where they instead run at the Akatsuki to get revenge for a bald monk, while the jinchuriki plot is completely disconnected. when asuma's team went to fight hidan/kakuzu? true then. i guess kishi probably wanted some reason to write an arc for shikamaru and wanted to use the akatsuki but couldn't think of a reason why shikamaru would come in contact with them (without them attacking naruto or something). and his arc is kinda lame in the end. the entire setup is pretty stupid now that you mention it. getting revenge for a bald monk... that's also why asuma dies...
so i assumed gaara never killed his siblings despite hating them and constantly threatening them because he would rather have that than be alone. but it could also be related to how he feared his father. he wouldn't want his father sending assassins after him again for killing his other kids.
>>288527068 That was back before tailed beasts were even a concept, the Kyubi and Shukaku were unrelated and Shukaku was the evil spirit of a monk or something
>>288528418 I don't necessarily mean that the ones in the Chunin exam and/or their respective Jonin team leaders should have been Jinchuriki, but all could have had attachments to them. Bee had students and was a well-respected shinobi, and besides the Jinchuriki vaired in age and rank, with Naruto being a genin and the Mizukage being the leader of his village. Jinchuriki storyline, or lack thereof, aside, so much more could have been done with the world building. We didn't even meet the other 3 Kage until the 11th hour of the manga and they were near/at war. Then there's a wave of new characters like Darui getting his own fight and "moments" and we're sitting here like "Who the fuck is this guy? Why should we care? Why are we using time on him fighting revived shinobi we've never heard of?" It's a pathetic attempt at building out the rest of the world. It probably didn't help that Jiraiya and Naruto apparently traveled and trained for 2 years and all of it was in a timeskip. At least some of it should have actually been written and drawn out.
>>288528803 They don't even have numerical advantage against immortal enemies and they are 3 nameless scrubs and Kankurou who is encumbered by keeping Deidara tied down. Retreat is the only non-suicidal option.
>>288525493 >"it's new though" >"it's only been like 3 years max" >"but i swear it's better now" >"we don't even make neji and the rest eat with the dogs anymore" >>288525484 >that cloud ninjabehind them "hey wait a second, did you fake his dea-"
>>288528275 I don't think he actually hated them, I think it's more like they couldn't approach each other while Rasa was alive and basically were strangers during Chuunin exams. After Konoha Crush, Gaara chilled a lot so they could interact aside going on missions together.
>>288529706 You're supposed to look forward the next thing. Not ponder the current chapters. Think of how awesome Sasuke's return will be. Think of all the POTENTIAL this manga still has
>>288529477 It was really good and it had a lot of fucked up moments like tenten becoming a lesbian and the curry face episode hinting at scat fetishes Yes that actually happened.
Are any of the Ninja Storm games worth picking up on steam? Never played their games but they look fun. Do any of them have an active community still? Who was your main?
>>288530215 I've only ever played the 2nd Storm game but it was pretty good. The boss fights are, in a lot of cases, better than both the anime and manga imo.
Mained Sasuke because he was cool. He had an enhanced jutsu that turned his normal fireball into 2 of those fire dragons he used against Itachi and he was also the only character who changed the way he looked after his awakening ended (his shirt stayed off) which was badass. I think they introduced that kind of mechanic of clothes / armour being removed after damage or awakenings in the later games for other characters instead of just Sasuke.
>>288530450 >mechanic of clothes / armour being removed after damage or awakenings Kino Maybe it's worth playing for the campaign alone. Doesn't the 2nd game have an overworld to it too or something? I may have heard wrong.
>>288530510 Yeah 2nd game has a world you can roam but it's very, very linear. Main story is still pretty fun overall. >>288530559 Just some of them. The cinematic / QTE tend to be a lot more action packed and fast paced than the anime as befitting of a video game. Even if you were to prefer the anime, the game offers a fresh take on the fights which is pretty enjoyable in itself.
>>288527068 >>288527352 >>288527699 Nobody was ever gonna care about all the 9 jinchuriki's, no great writer is capable of that. It would have been better if they stayed dead after being extracted but Kishi couldn't do that anymore since he already resurrected Gaara.
The tailed beasts just suck as a concept. Did anyone even like any of them? There's a reason Sage Naruto is so hype it's because he refuses to lean on Kurama for power.
Naruto friendship with Kurama should have been out of pure necessity and survival, not the goofy shit we actually got. Kurama should have been the one to unironically use TNJ on Naruto and remove his hatred for being a jinchuriki. Have him then fight Sauce after this and the series ends there. No war arc or alien shit afterwards.
>>288531315 >cinematic / QTE tend to be a lot more action packed and fast paced than the anime as befitting of a video game. yeah, i imagine even the dumb parts like the war are even still fun to play through in video game format.
>fresh take on the fights which is pretty enjoyable in itself. sounds interesting. i'll get them when they're on sale.
>>288531315 >the game offers a fresh take on the fights which is pretty enjoyable in itself. Nta but that does sound pretty cool. I don't mind when directors take artistic liberty, as long as it fits within the theme.
>>288531333 >The tailed beasts just suck as a concept. Did anyone even like any of them? There's a reason Sage Naruto is so hype it's because he refuses to lean on Kurama for power. yeah, naruto finally learning not to rely on kurama for power was nice and showed naruto's growth. i think the tailed beasts are poorly implemented in part 2 for many reasons we (other anons and i) have discussed already.
Threadly reminder that Kaguya is still the peak of power in all of Naruto and Boruto. Boruto's power level doesn't even come close to the end of the War arc in Naruto once 10-tails and Six Paths Chakra come into play.
Kaguya one shot Isshiki before she even ate the chakra fruit.
>>288531423 i didn't know if the anon i was just talking to was one of the same anons i talked to about the same topic and i didn't want to assume he was and sound schizophrenic.
one thing that bugs me about later eye powers is how unintuitive they seem. it made sense why eye powers would give the user vision related powers, but why can they summon black holes, rewrite reality, revive people, and summon kaijus?
>>288529953 >>288530100 >>288530296 >>288530181 A 15 years old liking older women is pretty normal actually, most of us didn't really thought about grooming or pedophilia because dumb boys with boners won't actually consider the connotations of craving sexual relationship with an adult woman. Granted, Ikefucko could definitely have worded this better, considering the stuff people say about him.
>>288531728 Zuo Mo is a body cultivator, he cultivates powers to prevent his body from decaying and attain eternal life. the ootsutsuki use vessels, but for a similar effect. Zuo Mo is also a low rank body cultivator in his universe, with an unknown past.
It was actually someone on /co/ who brought the xianxia argument to my attention. Because to me it seems that it's where the ootsutsuki mostly derives from.
>>288531840 >>288530296 >>288530100 Well it's Japan. Their comfort with this group of people is quite disturbing. The author of Rurouni Kenshin was found with tons of materials featuring horrific things involving children and he just had to pay a fine and went right back to publishing his manga. Possession of these materials has only been illegal as of 2014. I expanded upon it in previous comments.
>>288531473 No Otsutsuki outside of Shibai can compare to Kaguya, and Shibai literally fucked off out of existence. >>288531474 Shes definitely a Yamato type. >>288531869 Who can compare to her outside of Shibai who had to eat countless chakra fruit while she only ate 1 and was creating her own universes causally.
>>288532001 >>288532063 wasn't there also a recent controversy with a different mangaka and he received a lot of negative feedback? just saying. clearly not everyone in japan is cool with it.
>>288532001 I find it odd how his editors are hiding their identity, considering how during Shippudens run there was a news segment each morning with the editors of the manga discussing it ??
>>288533100 Orochimaru is a snake person. Kisame is a shark person. Sasori was a living puppet. You really think Zetsu was so much stranger than any of the other characters? Not to mention the flashback where he was Madara's "will" and then that got retconned for the alien bunny spawn.
>>288533445 Actually it was human cock that made her experience love for the first time, enhancing her Chakra so she could one-shot Isshiki.
The strangest thing is, Hagaromo comments that Kaguya lost her love for humanity and became feared. Likewise people talk about the Otsutsuki not having love. Like how do the Otsutsuki breed if they don't have love? They obviously have male and female anatomy compatible with humans.
>>288533706 You need DNA to cast the jutsu. It creates a brand new, fake, undead body around the sacrifice. The original body is still out there, as shown by Tobi tracking down the real Nagato and stealing his eyes even after Kabuto summoned Nagato in front of him.
>>288531333 >Did anyone even like any of them? No one liked any of them besides ultimate autists like the Yugito spammer. But you can't really blame them because Kishi absolutely refused to even make them characters, yet clearly took his time actually designing their appearances. I guess they just needed something for the Akatsuki to do, a background reason as to why they're not absolutely fucking blitzing the fuck out of Naruto. But then again that was kinda handwaved away anyway. The Jinchuriki as an entire plot concept was just an absolute jumbled mess and Kishi clearly had no fucking clue what he was doing with them.
>>288533473 that's what the anime filler is for. shit, sure it's pointless but it at least does something with the side characters and has some fun interactions.
>>288535020 OP had to change threads because the powerscaling anon completely hijacked his thread. It became about the powerscaling conversation, not the chapter he posted, so he got angry and immediately started a new thread.
