I have an opportunity for a job in a major metro. I've only lived in burbs and semi-rural areas my whole life.
Are big cities that stressful and overwhelming?
Is it true that dating can actually be more difficult in big cities because everyone has options?

Depends on your tolerance for:
Homeless people: Most homeless people are mentally ill drug addicts who are literally feral humans. Avoid interacting with them when possible.
Gangs/Ghettos. Some areas of town will just be shitty. Avoid when possible.
Woke People/Liberals -- Liberals on the whole don't cause issues (in fact, most of them are educated) until they decide to do two things: Vote against their better interests regarding local laws and other people. I live in Denver, so we have shit tons of woke liberals who will literally go out and enable the homeless by feeding them (which enables their lifestyle of being parasites) and giving them expensive camping equipment, which they then use to smoke fent/meth in and do nothing useful, while voting to spend every tax dollar on homeless "outreach". OH, and the city is now completely cucked when it comes to dealing with habitual criminals and shit.
Also people are more callous. I'll be the first to admit that I'm guilty of it, but most people if they saw you getting beaten, would probably fuck off or start filming.

Fuck no dude. There is way more pussy in the city, even just for a casual fuck. As long as you are reasonably fit, have decent money for alcohol and restaurants, you can get some chubby art how to suck your dick pretty quickly. Bonus points if you lie about being liberal.

I didn't mean if hookups are hard to get. I meant relationships because you're competing with everyone finance Chad (in this particular city). It seems like women would have way higher standards and be a lot more finicky. Like, I could be an 8/10 fully maxed in my current city but I might be a 5/10 in a big city.
Denver was a first choice back in the day but there's no jobs in my field and I just don't really like it as a place to live. It's fun to visit though.

Depends on a lot of things, but my experience of living in a big city makes it hard to get ahead. Everything is more expensive, it's congested, and there are always people who will fuck with you.
Honestly burbs and semi-rural areas are underrated. Peace and quiet, if you don't have an HOA and you get along with your neighbors you can make some great friends, more and more hipsters opening up the same shops and restaurants you'd find in the big shitty.
I hope you have a way of living cheaply and you're making a lot of money. That's what cities are for IMO, making your nest egg fast and hard when you're young, not for settling down into. Cities are rat hives, not places to actually live. Recall the earliest cities were basically mass slave warehouses for places like Sumer and Ancient Egypt.

I will make the disclaimer I currently live in Seattle, which has to be tied for the worst city for life with San Francisco and Portland. Before that I lived in Boston as an undergrad, and when I was a kid I lived in NYC but my family moved out to the burbs before I started middle school.

This is what I've always kinda felt, but man big cities have everything I want. I want to be carless and just ride my bike or walk everywhere.
