I have to go to new york city for a business trip on on tuesday. The business trip only lasts for tuesday and takes me from brooklyn to manhattan, after that I've got until friday before my plane leaves. That means I've got wedneday and thursday to do fuck all but just sit around waiting for my flight home in a hotel. What's some advice you can give me and what can i do to kill time? I don't plan on bringing my car because we plan on taking public transport together and i hear traffic is a bitch. I've been a suburbsfag most of my life and have hardly been around any big buildings or downtown areas.

You definitely made the right call to leave your car. NYC is one of the only cities that's actually completely navigable by subway and walking.
To be honest despite being a NY native I don't like NYC very much. As an adult most of the "fun" people have is drinking and doing coke in various bars, clubs or restaurants.
I've always liked the AMNH, it's definitely the kind of place you can kill and entire afternoon without getting bored. You can go down to the WTC memorial and contemplate the satanic ritual that was 9/11. Or you can go to midtown and pay $50 to go to the top of the Empire State or Chrysler building. Times Square might be fun to walk around, most of the stores there are just tourist traps selling overpriced shit but there are a couple of good small restaurants on the streets off the side. You can also go to Hell's Kitchen and see the USS Intrepid, that's kind of cool if you like military stuff. It's starting to get warmer so you can walk around Central park, maybe rent a duckboat and paddle on the pond lol
But yeah, I've always felt NYC is the sort of city for rich cokehead types that like to drink and shop.

I’m moving there myself soon. I’ve spent around a month and a half total over the course of several years visiting Manhattan and Brooklyn.
I like what I’ve seen enough to move there and happen to work a job that’s in high demand up there: I’m a home health aide.
I’m curious if I’m going to like it enough to stay.

You should definitely check out Central Park.
There are also a lot of really great museums in the city that might be worth a visit.
Google Maps is your friend up there. You can get really helpful directions that lay out very clearly how to navigate the public transit there, and you can of course use it to find landmarks, activities and restaurants that you’ll have time to see.

If you're an American and you haven't been, you have a duty to see the Natural History Museum. Makes you feel like you're 10 years old, and serves as a time capsule for a time when, men felt for things bigger than themselves, and actually tried to create

NYC is the greatest city in the world (and also the craziest, but that's another topic) and you're at a loss as to what to do there?
What in life interests you? NYC has more of it than anywhere else. Anything from museums to porn shops, sports to lectures, Broadway to zoos, shopping to people-watching

Where exactly in New York? NYC by the looks of the image? Manhattan?
It really depends on what you like. You could go see a show, go enjoy food...
When I went to Manhattan, I walked around in Central Park but didn't do much. I visited the Statue of Liberty but it was late in the day and I didn't go to the top. I went to the Empire State Building. I went to Times Square but didn't want to interact with street vendors. Not sure how it is now as I went over 10 years ago, but seems like someone is always trying to sell music.
Most important thing is to look at event schedules and plan your day in advance. You don't want to be wasting time all over the city either walking or taking a cab because that wastes times. Start in one section, do all the things, and go to another section.
