Protection is not enough to prevent those types of infections that show up on the skin. Literally any skin contact could potentially risk infection, even if the risk is actually very low.
Just never do casual sex. If you are going to get intimate with someone, do it with someone you love. And if you love that person and want a future with them, you wouldn't be asking this here, cause you'd already have your answer.
And if all you care is about the sex, then you're putting yourself at risk of getting sti's and it's not worth imo.

if she doesn't have an active outbreak and she's on antivirals then its almost impossible to transfer, but you have to be careful and always wear a condom. if the herpes is on the inside of her vagina you should be good with a condom, if is on the outside area surrounding you need to check for red spots every time.
