I'm in a position where I have to bike 1 hour and 30 minutes to and from work. Is there anything I should know before hand? How hard is it to learn how to ride a bike as an adult? Are there any special bikes I should use for this trek? I'm planning on using a 200 dollar bike from walmart

Im technically obese, but I'd like to think I have above average cardio for someone my size. I'm used to extreme cardio workouts. I got rhabdo recently, but that was because I don't drink enough water proportional to how i used to work out

I don't have much of a choice. I don't have a car or a license, and I'm trying to save money to move away from my mother. Paying for Lyft would cost me ~200 a week for a trip to a fro; I work part-time and get paid biweekly, which totals ~480-500, which means I'll be earning ~80-100 per pay period, which is not ideal.
I could ride the bus, but where I work is filled with homeless people and fucktards, so is rather not ride with them

I’m not a bike commuter myself or even a cyclist, but I mean… it just seems like a no-brainer.
On top of what the cyclist anon said, you’ll also undoubtedly spend a lot less of your workday commuting, giving you more free time in the evenings and mornings.
If it ever rains or snows or is especially hot, biking to and from work will be miserable.
If you had like a half hour ride to work I’d say go for it, but three hours total every workday will wear on you heavily after even just one week at work.

Dont buy cheap bikes, retard. Especially if you're going to use them for commuting, they'll get ruined halfway through. Get a good bike. Unless you're mentally retarded you should be able to pedal properly after an hour. Now, riding like a human might take longer depending on how good you are at these things(1-4 weeks probably). Also you should learn some basic mechanics because 1 hour 30 minutes is a long distance, and bikes tend to mess up. You want to avoid that

Get yourself a bigger seat, i recently rode like 49 minutes for going/returning each and the next day must ass hurt, those slim seats are not comfortable. Also start taking small trips or thigh workouts before you start this so your legs get used to it. Have an extra T-shirt if you can because you are going to sweat. Watch for cars or roads with glass or foliage debris.
