I've been bullish lately, but I think I'm fully converting to a bear now. It seems pretty clear that Israel won't let this end without getting Iran's enriched uranium and Iran won't give it up voluntarily, so USA is stuck as it won't ever leave Israel. The question now is how will they extract the uranium and I don't think special ops/invasion is on the table and the path they'll go through is economical, political pressure and threats and resource starvation. That's why USA is clocking the strait of Hormuz and threatening with tariffs. They want to stop anyone (China) from supplying Iran to eventually make Iran run out of resources to fight and control the strait of Hormuz. Not sure how will China react, but Iran will probably see the writing on the wall and unless they will will secure some stable resource source they'll likely to pull on closing the Red sea as well.
Either way I find it hard to see this ending without further escalation and fighting and while it may not last that long, we may see pretty heavy further increases to oil prices. We'll possibly see a truth social media post trying to temporarily calm the situation, but the bottom line seems to be further rounds of conflicts and possibly the continuation of threats to end a civilization (with possibly even pulling the trigger this time around).
Either way long oil and NATGAT seems to be the way, short tech and gold.

OIL status?
>>
>>
>>62110009
>GDP
Q4 2025 was only .5%.
>Unemployment
Figure on headlines is 4.5% or so, but that data only includes people out of work and actively looking. If you include people who aren't looking for a job, 8%. If you include people who are retired/disabled/etc, 10%. If you look at majority of jobs added recently, they're mostly in part time sectors. Data also includes people with 2 part time jobs as 2 new jobs. So yeah those numbers aren't looking as good as they make out.
>Private Credit
Default % rising, liquidity is getting capped as people try to withdraw
Top it all off with an broadly inflationary oil crisis and yeah I'm hibernating in a cave my nigga.

>Do you think musk wants to IPO Space X so bad
because it's the peak of the cycle in any case, so they want to get a good price on the IPO
and also there are other mega ipos in the works, most notably openai, which will also crowd out the mega IPO space
so they are all rushing to beat the market to a crash, and beat each other to the finish line
This is not good for any public investor who wants to buy stock from the IPO. it's all pure exit liquidity and taking advantage of FOMO
I will be buying space x stock 6 months to a year after the ipo, after it crashes to a more normal valuation.
2 trillion (somehow that bumped up from 1.5 to 1.75 to 2) is like 100x revenue. Not 100x earnings. 100x sales. It's insane.

>Is openAI chatgpt?
yes they make chatgpt
>That one I'd short. 100% it rnds bankrupt owned by microsoft.
openai is very overhyped and massively overvalued, much like spacex. Though I think they have a lot less of a moat than spacex.
the new entrant anthropic is killing them now. but a new one after that will probably outcompete anthropic. betting on who will win in ai is going to be really difficult. People were counting out google as a clown stock, and now it's winning? You can't invest in a sector like that. and by the time they figure out who the winner or winners will be, the easy money will be made. maybe an ai etf would good? probably not. betting on the companies benefiting from ai capex seems way way easier.
I feel a lot more confident betting that spacex will "win" in space. and also I might as well buy the space ETF, which is UFO for now until a better one comes along. pic unrel but you get the point

what exactly is the bull case though?
other than it being THE reddit eschatology, I really don't see it.

i understand retards dont know anything about space; that there is nothing up there of any value until light speed is broken (which it wont be) or the fact that it makes more sense to build a colony in the center of freshly created nuclear bomb crater but surely they must have some shill line after losing billions last year?

its both wrong, just like the us taking that russian flagged venezuelan ship was piracy.
you cant enforce sanctions you yourself came up with in an ocean on the other side of the world, its just blatant piracy.
well, you can with might makes right but then you can say goodbye to the luxuries of the modern world once the seas turn into a great power competition zone, shipping will be finished.

It is piracy. Don't you remember that scene from One Piece when the pirate DonQuixote Doflamingo says "Justice always prevails? OF COURSE! Because the winners become justice!"
The glorious and moral USA decides what is justice. Killing millions of people since the end of WWII in pointless wars? JUSTICE. Starving and killing all Cubans because they find it funny? JUSTICE. Committing a genocide in GAZA? JUSTICE!!
>>
>>
>>
>>62110225
since the us is losing its hegemony status there are theories that "piracy" as in controlling and tolling certain choke points is the future strategy of the US which will retreat as a world power and only focus on the americas.

It wouldn't be legal in Australia. One of our consumer rights is "guarantee of legal title", which is essentially "Once you buy a product, it's yours to do with what you will and the previous owner has no legal say in the matter". And unlike the cucked USA laws, it's impossible to (((voluntarily))) waive our legal rights here so nothing Telsa says can change that.

He has already fucked the global economy with his retarded moves but the market doesn't care. For some reason, the markets being "forward looking" only applies to positive things, not negative.
If this continues, Asian factories will start shutting down, leading to western industries shutting down because of a lack of raw materials. People don't seem to realize how much the global economy relies on middle eastern oil and petrochemicals.

Sanctions have no legal meaning outside of the jurisdiction of the sanctioning entity. Whether one country or a group of countries have imposed sanctions on ships is irrelevant to the question of legality when the ships are outside of those countries' jurisdictions.
In the case of EU countries, it's worth noting that these countries have signed treaties committing to allow ships to pass even within their own jurisdictions. Anyway, EU countries' harassment of the "shadow fleet" is mostly performative; very few are seized, and many of the seized ships are released after a few weeks.

Yeah, I think that's why stocks haven't gone down much, but if the war keeps going the way it's going, and it seems to me like it will, investors are going to be in for a rude awakening when a massive recession hits and PE ratios go through the roof. Not even the most idiotic of permabulls will hold if the average PE of the S&P500 goes to like 40 or something.

I've noticed that the market gets paralysed by a believed lack of options at times. Everyone knows:
1. Global supply chains are being crimped and we can already see the impacts in East Asia which will be ground zero
2. There's an emerging currency crisis in emerging markets alongside a collapse in production
3. Inflation will spike for the next 2 years minimum thanks to a fertiliser shortage at the start of the growing season
4. Today's publicly traded tech companies won't be the ones who actually deliver an AI revolution
5. Gulf State investments are being pulled away as we speak from tech firms and real estate which has been the only thing keeping them going after the end of 0% interest rates
But when you take that on board we live in a world without obvious opportunity where the best move might just be the hunker down with the your positions and hope for the best. The only positive story is cash flows are still pretty good but it's on the back of the easy profits of productivity gains not flowing to the workforce and the white collars getting their income slashed.

Betting on the death of an 80-year old who lives on McDonald's, overcooked steak with ketchup and diet coke sounds like a winner. Especially with all the flying he has to do to see UFC fights and play golf. What are some good stocks for this scenario?

Depends on how Iran plays out. If it ends up triggering regime change and Iran becomes an ally of the US he will probably be remembered as a controversial but great president that substantially strengthened Americas position in the world.

After all of trumps blunders, Trump tariffs, Iran war, closing of the strait. I’m still up 11% on my portfolio. Is it really this easy to be profitable? this is a cash acc btw, no margin

Why does Israel even care? Iran said multiple times they're okay with dropping nuke programs as long as peaceful nuclear power is allowed but Jews can't even let them have that for some reason
>noo they'll lie about it
That's why nuclear site inspections exist, that's a matter of negotiation, and Jews refuse to negotiate on this matter entirely

>why does israel care that the people funding the people attacking them might get a nuke
Is this nigga serious? Nobody trusts a shia death cult to be honest. Even if they didn't want a nuke before they will definitely get one now if they are able.
>>

They all live in a desert.
None of them should need a nuclear reactor when they can just put solar panels on the roof.
At least the whYt man has a semi plausible excuse for having one. That being, cold weather.

no suprise at all to see the PPT slowly fill half the gap overnight in perfect sawtooth wave patterns. clean, orderly buying. love to see it. stage is set for a TACO in 2-3 hours then we can get this day rolling.
>>
>>62110401
That's kind of besides or directly the point. While Iran might've been willing to cooperate and let others oversee that they're not pursuing nuclear weapons, it's not something that Israel or USA is willing to accept. Trump personally ripped the agreement with Iran and is now calling for the enriched uranium.
Either way Iran giving away their enriched uranium seems to be the only way forward now. I'm not sure whether it's been an intentional bait into the current conflict, but that's just where we are now.

Since it's in the Alps, I suppose it's indeed a marmot. I thought you guys called them "groundhog". We call them "marmotte" here.
Either way, I'm not sure whether it's bullish or not for the mememarkets. But have a last one while it was almost doing the happy merchant pose just seconds before it tried to lick my wide angle lens.

Well, it's a saying. Markets aren't perfect replication of reality, but of actors operating within the market, which don't need to be perfectly rational. I also think that there's some sort of fatique going on, where all the sudden changes makes everyone numb to the point of asking what's the point of reacting too strongly, when the wind is going to change and things will come back to where we've started, though the reality of the situation will hit eventually.

I figure people will market buy on open expecting the taco, that's when I'm going to open my shorts. If you visit his truth social, you'll see that he posted about it 5 hours ago and he also re-posted propaganda about how its a great idea so he basically reaffirmed his plan. The USA also sent ~14 cargo planes to nearby bases over the past day. Israel also wants to re-engage. Escalation is happening!

Excluding the Hormuz and oil situation, I barely can fathom how the market is basically at its ATH when you have bigass names sitting at -30% like MSFT. And it's not the only one.
Now add in the oil situation and it's incomprehensible. What, fucking Wallmart now has a PE of 50 or some shit? We're beyond retardation at this point.

Retarded curve ball take here.... The situation isn't actually as bad as it seems. When you add up the amount of pointless mini breaks boomers take and millions of pointless car and scooter journeys and then subtract off the extra capacity other wells and refineries have... A 30% drop is just skimming some of the surplus benchodery off.

>Where else would you put your money
uhhh idk nigga sit on it like Warren Buffett? Do you really want to be 100% exposed to the market when we unironically enter a great depression? Every single dollar you have will be worth 20x more when assets finally get repriced downwards.

The only rule mods consistently enforce are their pet idea of what's "on topic". That and porn for the sake of the advertisers.
The other rules may as well not even be listed. Like they invoke the racism rule or they invoke the rule about complaining but it boils down to topicality.
Go to any board and you'll find people bemoaning schizophrenic spammers drowning people out in the generals but they don't care because they don't have a way to squint at that and see topicality at issue.

the reason the oil shock hasn't been too bad is because of renewables
you heard that right
big oil just wants you to think the world is still consuming oil at record rates
in reality, they're just storing it all in a big hole in tanzania
you ever been to tanzania? neither has anyone else. it's definitely all there.
