Gemini/flash is great, they've done a few silent upgrades to it including it randomly going an iterative generator where it re-renders a couple of extra times to fix the image.

personally, I've been showing people how to use Gemini and make it work to its fullest while blocking gens the least. Google DeepMind has made Gemini a little annoying with its zealous guardrails and it badly interpreting prompts lately and it gets harder to generate an adult aged up version of a famously young character without it blocking gens for ridiculous reasons. I used to be able to get away with a lot more but the guardrails got worsened during updates again. Would be nice to just use the same prompts I have before and not have to adjust them with changed guardrails. There are many tricks to get Gemini Flash 3.5 with Extended Thinking model to generate images the way you want without blocking certain gens that would set off the guardrails. And Gemini has a decent recognition of several styles and is able to fuse styles together contextually and per character. You can even extract an entire outfit of a character into an image and then use that image as reference to give anyone that same outfit. And with enough workarounds you can beat all the third party blocks and generate an image of a character you want. And you can make use of it with far less restrictions than Bing. The key thing is you have to specify style sometimes. And it is so precise that it will follow your lengthy prompt up to a point. Bing and Dall-e 3 used simple prompts and filled in the blanks on its own for some styles. Now that Dall-e 3 is at an end and will be entirely gone soon, people will have to move on and make the best of what is left.

Gemini is insanely good at matching art styles, so long as you keep it thinking it's an edit. When it builds a new image for scratch it becomes less faithful. no that's the thing, I wasn't naming any bands in the actual prompts
I thought it was funny it kept repeating the same bands endlessly unprompted
I assumed it was doing it solely from how they were dressed which was pretty clever but turns out it was just because I had '2000s scene hair' in the prompt that it kept cycling those 4 bands
occasionally it would throw a curve ball and render an album by the Killers

it gave me an idea for a short story to do in an image series where one of them becomes self aware that they are in AI slop and tries to convince the other but I haven't quite figured out the beats/structure, only the ending

it uses the character to make something different
if not I will see how it does with coomblast
