30+y/o, how are you holding up?

I woke up and stretched while yawning and tore something in the shoulderblades. Feels like I'm going to be out of commission for weeks involving that area for exercises.

What minor areas do you focus on when your main ones need long recovery?

Very good.

Stop barbell benching it's terrible for your shoulders.

Focus on legs and back, atg smith machine squats and widegip pull-ups superset for an hour nonstop.

I don't bench anymore, just lateral raise machine for capped delts, heavy tricep machine extension for massive triceps, and desu I like the smaller chest look but sometimes I'll throw in some chest flies too

>What minor areas do you focus on when your main ones need long recovery?
I think you should focus on recovery. It's difficult to not use your shoulders in one way or another during intense workouts.

Take it easy, go for walks and heal up. Your gains will wait for you when you get better.

I have not lifted for 4 days due to a respiratory virus. It feels bad man. Muh gainz..

32 this year, in the best shape of my life outside of a minor finger injury from climbing, supplementing that with running and yoga while trying to take it easy on the finger

Partial truth.
Fuck barbell bench.
OHP + Dips is all you need.
>>
>>77112881
Honestly, I’ve changed how I work out completely specifically to not pick up these types of minor injuries. I lift lighter weights with more control and with a focus on mobility. Best example is ass to grass squats with a 3 second pause at the bottom, I shit you not, it fixed all my hip issues and now I can comfortably sit in a squatted position just like a rice farming jeet can.
As a side note, anyone (natty) struggling to maintain leanness? In my 20s I was able to be at around 12-13% bf and feel like I have plenty of energy to do activities, but now, anytime I cut under 15% I feel depleted af. I know my diet is better and my lifestyle is pretty healthy, so not sure what the issue is other than getting older.
>>
>>77112881
yeah this is the type of shit i have to deal with all the time unfortunately its part of aging, what you can do is roid now so you get all your gains fast and then maintain naturally
>>
>>77112881
Was probably the fittest I've been in my entire life until I fucked up my ankle in my tennis league and have to go lifting only until I can get surgery, plus recovery could take months. Feels like shit
>>
I can't figure out my optimal amount of volume. I was making good progress for a long time with high volume then I hit a plateau and my solution was to cut the volume down. Essentailly cutting my workouts in half and only lifting 3 days a week instead of 4. This eventually did break my plateu but now im not sure if I should go back to training how I made progress for a long time or just stick with this reduced volume "delaoding phase" for as long as I keep making gains.

good day so far, 33 y/o father of 4 day in the life of a multimillionaire

woke up at 6 had a cappuccino and journaled, then got into the garage gym for an upper volume day. chest, shoulder and arm pump, had some kefir and cereal then finished my coffee while making the kids breakfast

at the desk got most of my core work completed by 930-10 or so. wife took the kids out, I ripped the thc pen and got super stoned then had to do a couple work phone calls. did some financial modeling and projections; shit is looking REALLY good

around noon I did a 1.5 mile run in the neighborhood, nice and sunny out today, a beautiful 72 degrees. 9 minute 11 second pace because I walked after jogging the first 1/2 mile. stomach felt heavy and thought I may puke. had a shake once I got home, the family was home by then too

I'm back at the desk now tying up loose ends at work and will probably fire up the mouse jiggler some time in the next 30 mins or so. going to fog it up with the thc pen again and then go on an ebike ride. after I'll get some yard work done, trim the front hedges, rake up some leaves, and pressure wash my side pavers

after that I have to take my youngest to tennis lessons and we'll grab dinner while were out - I'm thinking tacos, we'll see. would mind boozin a bit as well but we're driving with precious cargo so we may skip it tonight

will hit the neighborhood clubhouse for sunset and maybe do some bass fishing while the kids play on the playground

anyway thanks for watching my vlog see you next time boys

36, just beginning to peak. 10+45 minutes of martial arts body conditioning every morning. 3x per week climbing for about 2-3 hours. 15 minute morning walk every morning. no rest days. Except for when I fast 20hours followed by 30hours after refeeding, last time was about 6 weeks ago. gf is 22 and can't keep up with me in bed. And I can tell I'm just at the very beginning of this journey.

If you're having problems at 30-39, it's because you have absolute shit genetics, you were a complete potato during your 20s, or you giga abused your body during your 20s (e.g. you were aiming for your IFBB Pro card at like 22).
If you are a normal healthy male, your 30s should be fine, more than fine.
It's a different story when you hit certain milestones. Some recent meta studies are pointing to 44 and 60 as two big milestone ages for dudes, so watch out for that. For me, RIGHT at 44, my eyesight when from perfect to shit within less than a year, so I can anecdotally confirm. Luckily the rest of my body is fine (as far as I know, for now).

>Stop barbell benching
36 and I've never ever had issues with bench.
>>
32y/o
I'm the healthiest I've ever been since running varsity track in highschool, but I have chronic shoulder pain from breaking my shoulder in a hit and run 5 years ago (I was hit while walking but also blackout drunk so who knows how it really went down). OHP specifically is getting almost too painful to do. Also starting to see varicose veins in my calves and I know my family has a history of circulatory problems starting around my age, so I gotta get it checked out sooner rather than later.
My hair has rapidly greyed in the past 5 or so years too but apparently between that and getting fit women like me a ton more than when I was a schlubby 20-something; dating a gorgeous 24y/o zoomette currently who would've been way out of my league at her age. Also don't have any thinning or receding in my hairline so I'm grateful for that.
Overall it's definitely the highest my self esteem has every been. Older women at work call me a silver fox and friends I'm not even that close with now come to me for fitness advice as well as asking for help with quitting drinking.
>>
38 y/o

dont feel any different than 20 years ago. I never stopped working out/running so that might have helped. I hope I can maintain that kind of fitness into my 50/60s. I dont see why not desu.
>>
34, I started benching for the first time at the start of the year. It's going fine but it kind of makes the base of my thumbs hurt. Is this normal or am I a retard?
>>
We are so fucking back, the thing I thought I tore has almost fully recovered, it must have been a pinched nerve, makes sense as I had extreme headache caused by the tension in all of the muscles. Few days later and a long hot shower I had a huge relaxtion and bunch of stuff cracked and pop, huge release. Full movement back.
>>
I have some issues with a bulged L4/L5 but I actually realized that bad habits like poor posture when sitting at the desk and when sleeping have been bigger factors in making it worse than lifting.
>>
>>77112881
Low carb, high protein diet.
Gay yoga and homo cardio.
No smoking + no drinking
Despite being almost 40, people think I'm in my late 20s.
>>

THIS.
I don't go to the gym, and just use water jug like pic and do a modified version of SL.
It won't give you any big muscles, but it does give you a nice well defined body.
Also a nice flex is I can lift water jug bottle with my arm extended despite not looking like a powershitter.

I'm trying to get off kratom using sr17018 which seems to work really well the problem is the psychological component because I just want to get high. Anyways I'm trying to not take that shit at all today. Only withdrawals so far are the runny nose.

I tried like 2 weeks ago and did a really good job lowering my dose for a week and a half but the decreased tolerance just made me want to enjoy the high again. Sigh im such a fucking addict. I just need to break the habit.
>>
>>77117789
did you just use powder? or did you get into the extracts? i jumped right into fucking dihydromytraginine and MGM-15 and after 8 days had fentanyl level withdrawals. thankfully i only went up to about 240mg on a couple days and tapered down to 5mg. i pretty much raw dogged it, but i did take some agmatine and ashwaghanda+L-Theanine, as well as propranolol. they really didnt do much so idk. day 6 off it and im feeling pretty good, im pretty blessed that i couldnt afford to keep getting more and more so i didnt end up taking tons for a long time.

I am more fit (cardiovascular fitness) than I was during my highschool years, weight hasn't changed at all.

I don't lift weights, that's pointless, don't have the frame to get big.
>>
>>77117797
Just powder lately. I was fucking 7oh for a bit then my state made it illegal. Thank God cause I was was about to be addicted as fuck. But I have been mega dosing powder. Like 2 Oz a day. Been down to 1 lately but got back up to 2 in like a week of abusing it again.

I been taking this shit for like a year and half maybe 2 years now. Started with just tea. The difficult part is dealing with the compulsion to take it when I'm working or bored or pretty much anytime. Fortunately this sr17018 stuff is pretty much a miracle and I don't have to take off work. But I have a trip overseas planned and kratom is illegal so I have to get off it. I honestly need to just rip the cord rather than reducing dose. Fuck this stuff man...

38 here. I hit 225 bench a couple weeks ago for the first time, feels good man.

Unrelated but I've had a nagging issue with my right trap for decades, it's literally smaller than the other one for some reason. I got advice from some anon here to try barbell shrugs with a really specific form: hands out wide enouh to pull the bar up like I'm a marionette on strings, and then pinch my traps together as hard as I can at the apex. I think this movement is actually fixing a problem I've had with my body for my entire life. It's insane. It feels like dust and grime caked onto an ancient mechanism inside me is cracking and falling off after years of disuse. Thank you based anon.

After a month of not squatting I am pleased to say that I have finally figured out how to avoid knee pain. All it took was to raise my heels slightly. Today I squatted like Sam Sulek with my heels narrow width on a plate and I didn't have any knee pain whatsoever. Previously I had been squatting flat footed with an extreme width and constantly would experience pain in my right MCL. Raised heel squats have apparently been the answer this entire time. Never tried them because I thought they were for pussys.

I did everything right. Everything since 22 grinding. Noticed what’s missing?

I should have listened to the blackpillers. They were the correct ones, doing everything right and “making it” doesn’t give you shit if you’re average face manlet like me. I mog majority of my peers on income & social circle alone yet I can’t even get a date. I can’t even get Indian or Asian girls, I live in a state where even 6ft is not that tall, I listened to redpill bros on here for years tell me it’s not over. Never even kissed btw
But all I did was bury my head in the sand. Looks DO matter, a lot. Now I’m greyer and uglier, balder, and sadder. If I listened to the blackpill guys at 22 I would have saved for LL or some surgeries, hell at least a head start. Take it from a jaded defeated boomer, looks determine this shit. I know, I wanted the roomers to be wrong so bad but it’s true
Godspeed to you all. If you’re under 25, focus on getting pretty/lean and keeping your looks. Everything else is cope

Always been in immaculate shape, between lifting, distance running, hiking, kayaking 5 to 6 days a week, ive always maintained an impressive physique, and feel I haven't slowed whatsoever, my friends are all fat or balding or wrinkled, and im ageing marvelously.

Then a few weeks back I was running, and my calf started hurting so I stopped after a mile, its been tender, so I only lifted for that duration. Well the other day I began to run to make a crosswalk light and bam, I heard the sound of ripping elastic bands and felt a kick to the back of the leg as my calf tore. I tried to drag my useless leg home, but it was rather painful, I rented a lime scooter to get home, and have been using it sparingly for the past two weeks. Night after my girl comes by and sucks my dick, and I strain my neck laying with my head on the pillow getting a hummer to the point I had to sit up for a few hours till I could go back to bed.

Im not on any pills I don't have chronic issues or even back pain after years of lifting. Yet I am fucking worried boys, that suddenly my body is falling apart all at once.

Seattle is literally the most single city in the US, and the reason why is because all the pretty ones get snatched up, and the uggos sculk the dingy bars. Youre better off.

Started lifting again and got it all back + more.
I no longer go for 1 rep max - more like 70% and do more reps until I get the pump.
Injuries take much longer to recover so no longer worth it.

Univentricular heart. My level of desaturation puts me among the 10% worst single ventricle patients... Meanwhile my max HR (88% of predicted) puts me among the 10% best.

Part of the problem is severe muscle deficits, as I rely on my skeletal muscle pump to propel blood upward in the absence of a sub-pulmonary ventricle, but it's also a hemodynamic issue... it would be naive to assume I could SamSulekmaxx my way out.

I’m kinda mad at my best friend. His father died last July from cancer and I was helping the friend emotionally since Jan 25 until almost last year and since he got a job in December 2025 he literally started ghosting me. Whenever I call him he will reject the call and call me back 3 days later like nothing happened, he is also a fake, he is acting nonchalant staying until late at work and he is trying to flirt with all the girls in his job and they are actually into him, saying he doesn’t even try despite trying to game them all. Today he called me after 3 days telling me about a 23 year old who I used to flirt with telling me she wants him. I didn’t even wanted to know this kind of stuff and shit got in my head. Should I ghost?

Not defending the anon, but there are some exercises that don’t work for some people. For example, I’m 6’6” and bc of that I fucking HATE squats bc im scared of fucking up my back. Squats are a short man’s game. However, I make up for it by doing a ton of great core and leg exercises. Just saying, just bc you don’t bench doesn’t mean you can’t have a great chest. Just simple dumbbell/ cable machine exercises can give you a great chest
>>
>>77118481
Looks don’t matter. I have friends that aren’t fake, and one of them who is short he’s like 5’6” not ripped about average looking, slays pussy. He just has a cool personality, plays in a band, and has a cool style/fashion. Another guy slays, he’s below average looking and overweight. But he has confidence. Those matter much more than looks. Anyone telling you looks matter is retarded. They help, but women care much more if you have charisma. Charisma is the number one thing that matters aside from status/power/money. Women will cheat on and sleep with a man because he’s goofy. Also women aren’t going to plop into your life. You have to actively seek them. Ie join some kind of group thing (rock climbing, yoga, running etc…) and meet women there. Or you have to approach women. Dating apps can work but that’s much more highly skewed to looks as that’s the only thing women have to go over, and you need to have professional photos that aren’t you lazily taking pictures in the gym bathroom with your shirt off. The whole calvicular thing is a meme and won’t work. If you’re some autistic doomer who looksmaxxes you’ll get zero pussy if you don’t fix your personality and work on talking to women.
Even other friends I have/had the best with women were always guys that put themselves out there and actively sought out women, charismatic. The best looking ones often didn’t get laid as much because they think women should just come to them and never worked on talking to women. It helps with dating apps sure, but on the date you’re just fucked as some autistic good looking guy, and women dry up to that.
In terms of what women care about it’s:
>power/status/money
By this it’s like social media famous/politician/actor/multi millionaire ie can afford a yacht not 92k per year
>charisma/funny
>face/height
>body
Women really don’t care about body at all really. Most find guys that work out too much to be gross.

So I sprained my AC joint in my shoulder and have arthritis. I have to use a steroid cream almost every night. I can’t OHP anymore or do cable flys or it hurts. Anything above the shoulder. Climbing up the ladder to put Christmas decorations in the attic popped something. Pulling a deer out the woods, etc. I have 600mg Ibuprofen but only take when needed. Still lifting strong otherwise. Cardio has been a bitch for me since I started smoking again.

Other than that. My wife had a hysterectomy so no sexy time for 12 weeks. 3 beautiful kids. 6 figure salary, a house, everything else is going good. But I’ve just been unhealthily horny or in pain. I have managed to knock off every project I can afford off my “list” so there’s that. Might as well be product.

Also I have a gym membership but learned my company has a free gym and a free sauna so taking a steam after a morning workout has been great

> steam after a morning workout has been great
Wait until you experience steam/ sauna and a plunge pool. Or as the Finns do it, going outside

Holy fuck my left knee cut my softball tournament short.

I’m thinking of jumping on blue chew because I’m dating a 27 year old. (I’m 42)

I’m in shape but I’m not as spry.

I need to lose like 15 pounds

>no problems lifting
>no problems running
>no problems doing calisthenics
>almost fuck up my knee putting on shoes
I was limping everywhere and had to s l o w l y walk up & down stairs for a few weeks, it's not like I was in a hurry putting on my shoes or I tripped I just put them like I usually do.

Or how I just woke up one day with a completely fucked up shoulder, lost like 60% of my mobility overnight in putting my hands behind my back, just in the one shoulder though. Putting a backpack on like I normally do was impossible for a while. It's back to normal now after stretching it out.

I have a hard time believing this is not some form of overspill from zoomer's "life goals unmet" flavour of demoralization. But I will choose to believe that's its not and I don't have these issues because I have hidden power god level genetics.

I was a couch blob in my 20's, gaming 24/7 sitting in one position and all I have to do in my 30's to not be sour or injured is to just care about my mobility.

Before, even in my 20's I could take myself out of commission for weeks just by moving my head to quickly in one direction but now I can do all sorts of strange movements. in many ways I am more physically fit than I was when I was young.
Just basic stretching daily, its all it takes.

Better than the 'Zilian at least. Basically built out Blueprint to a Smaev-sized stack (with some deletions) mostly using reverse network pharmacology, recovering much better than teenager now.

>30+y/o, how are you holding up?
Mid-40s here, my big problem is hypothyroidism, but nothing skeleto-muscular. I guess a slight tennis elbow from grappling too hard, but it's not even that painful.

Seriously have no idea how you retards manage to go to snap city that early in life. I can go crash dieting for weeks and not fall apart like that. Guess you're all just fucking stupid.

what are your face and hair like? you better not be entirely wrinkled up with no hair. you can still take back time but you have to start now. it's funny that you tards prioritized muh jobs and fake bullshit like that when all that matters is looks. women don't give a fuck about how much money you have when they want to actually have hot sex. had you taken care of your face starting in your twenties you could've had skin like sean o'pry and he's 36 almost 37 and is the top paid model at fucking 36 fucking years old. there are no excuses, you just never prioritized your looks because you're a dumb fuck

No advice here - just a matter of opinion.

Yep, the physicality beats anything else. After having that sorted out the resources are next.

>how is hair and beard looking?
Just average hair and beard genetics. I’m 33 but some people (mostly males say I look my age) and girls say I look around 26-28

Remember where you’re posting. I live in Florida and around here it’s almost like the older you are the more fit you are. Florida is weird… I know 80 y/os with literal 6 pack abs

I'm in my early 30s, have been doing various forms of resistance training on and off since my teenage years, would ofc sometimes hit plateaus, started getting injuries in my late 20s, but that's not the point. I've been doing HIT twice a week for a long time and I feel like my muscles have lost any sort of limiter and they keep adapting to whatever I throw at them, the pace of strength gain is insane, I get to relatively absurd weights in some exercises and inevitably get injured, have to take a break and start over, but I punched through my hard weight limits from the younger years quite effortlessly, as if somebody was pinning my ass in my sleep. Admittedly I can afford eating 200+g of protein a day without a second thoughts which is probably the main difference to my early 20s or teenage years, but I dunno if it should make such a difference.
To other uncs, did you experience the same thing?

>women don't give a fuck about how much money you have when they want to actually have hot sex
This, sort of. They'll still not want to openly date you, much less marry you, if you're poor. You'll just be her fuck buddy until she finds a shmug that gives her the lifestyle that she wants, and she may or may not keep having sex with you on the side.
But yeah, alphas fuck, betas buck, this seemingly memeish sentence is as truthful (and obvious to those who look) as the sky is blue.

I have a full head of hair, blonde and wavy. I keep it long. My face is fine, but a little weathered from years of hard labor and stress.
Not reading the rest of your pathetic lookist delusion

>how are you holding up?
39 y.o. boomer. Seems like every week I mildly hurt something in the gym, even though I'm careful and don't ego lift. Last week it was my rhomboids on back day. Yesterday it was straining achilles tendon after heavy calf raises. Shit's lame.
>What minor areas do you focus on when your main ones need long recovery?
Dunno, don't really do that. I just focus on recovery.
