If I don't take fish oil then I randomly start craving fish all the time. So I think it's important.

Most storebought fish oil has been shown to be rancid.
Either way, you get more than enough if you eat animal products at any capacity and even plants, the culprit is having too much omega 6, your daily needs for omega 3 are laughably low you must be actively trying to avoid getting enough if you dont

Dark Pete here again...
Omega 3's are a false prophet. You're looking for 1-pentadecanol (C15-OH) and heptadecanoic acid (HA, C17:0). Those are what's contributed to positive metabolic influence, not EPA/DHA.

You literally can't explain what it does

I mean I did, it slightly lowers triglyceride levels.
That is the only thing it actually does.
It causes some sort of lubrication for the arterial walls which counteracts the other types of oil/fat based lubricants in the body.
It makes things stick less basically.
citation, dump a bunch of omega 3 oils into a cup with other types of oils. watch them separate.
I have no idea why the brain wants omega 3 though i've tried to look citations and it always comes down to "it just does".

Me too, specially a craving for salmon sushi though.
When I stop taking omega 3 supplements, my skin dries out terribly and splits around my lips and fingernails.
You might have a genetic propensity to being deficient too, or absorption issues.

>The oxidation energy threshold requires UV light, which transparent plastics are opaque to.
Oxidation also requires fucking oxygen which the capsules keep out.
The myth of rancidity came almost entirely from testing liquid (not pills) to an arbitrary standard which basically meant not detectably less than perfect. "Rancid" didn't mean toxic or ineffective. Iow it's bullshit.

100% exactly right
It's like taking a 1g protein pill and acting like it matters
Fish oil actually increases oxidative stress on the body
You can get the alleged benefits from just eating cheapo olives without the negatives that come with
