Incline Bench, Overhead Press, Weighted Pull-ups, and Bulgarian Split Squads
The thinking man's compounds

I know this is bait, but I unironically believe this.
Weighted pull-ups are easily the best back exercise, skipping OHP is for pussies, and DB inclines just feel so good. BSS is probably the most controversial take here, but I think it's a good alternative for retards who can't trust themselves to use proper form on a squat

Deadlifts are actually fantastic for maximizing injury

What do i do instead? I'm a noob at this but i noticed after starting my lower back and legs start spazzing out in bed like they're possessed. Even wakes me up sometimes so it's annoying as fuck.
I'm doing
>Squats
>Deadlifts
>Bench press
>OHP
>Rows

If you're a noob, your body just hasn't adapted to it yet. If you keep at it, it will get better.
That being said, deadlifts are great for building strength, but aren't that great if you just want to "look" bigger.

I'm just looking to get fit for now and put on mass since i'm skinny. Maybe once i am used to it i might want to try getting "bigger." So strength.

I'll try these next time. My biggest issue is the weird back/leg spazzing but stretching before bed has been helping a lot but i did get elbow pain for about two weeks too at the very beginning. I think that was just being too eager and not locking down form.

Wrong my list guys. Sure u need more volume but I think that works in its favor. Js rotate variation to avoid over use.

Posting physique
Also the 6 main lifts are best done with a 5x5 i think. Bench gets me particularly sore and it saves your joints if you going high volume with your lifts
Obv don't do 5x5 deads, instead do 1x5 deadlifts, 5x5 rdl or 5x3 power cleans.
Do your power cleans, anon.

Is that a good physique built by 5x5s?>>77116149

My deadlift increased without doing them for 3 years, and I skipped all the awkward feeling lower back - I think the combo of arm, torso, leg length just makes them not for me. People who do them often don't have a clue how much lower core strength you need to do them safely either - it takes years.
What I think replaced it: inverted hangs and pullups, windshield wipers, front lever progressions; leg press, hack squat, calf extension.
I'd say you get better all round physicality dipping into these instead of grinding away at deadlifts. I do a few other exercises but I'd say these sub deadlift.
