Incline Bench, Overhead Press, Weighted Pull-ups, and Bulgarian Split Squads

The thinking man's compounds

I know this is bait, but I unironically believe this.
Weighted pull-ups are easily the best back exercise, skipping OHP is for pussies, and DB inclines just feel so good. BSS is probably the most controversial take here, but I think it's a good alternative for retards who can't trust themselves to use proper form on a squat

Deadlifts are actually fantastic for maximizing injury
>>
>>77114368
Replace Bulgarian with belt squat and this is the core of my workout.

Except RDLs
RDLs are S-tier

Do I need to to Bulgariboys if I do hack Squats?

>Deadlifts are actually fantastic for maximizing injury
What do i do instead? I'm a noob at this but i noticed after starting my lower back and legs start spazzing out in bed like they're possessed. Even wakes me up sometimes so it's annoying as fuck.
I'm doing
>Squats
>Deadlifts
>Bench press
>OHP
>Rows
>>
>>77114611
Post lifts
>>
>>77114660
If you're a noob, your body just hasn't adapted to it yet. If you keep at it, it will get better.
That being said, deadlifts are great for building strength, but aren't that great if you just want to "look" bigger.
>>
>>77114660
depends on your goals
if it's physique swap them out for something like
>hack/pendulum squat
>RDL/SLDL
>incline press
>seated behind the neck or machine press
>chest supported rows
>>
>>77114762
I'm just looking to get fit for now and put on mass since i'm skinny. Maybe once i am used to it i might want to try getting "bigger." So strength.
>>77114765
I'll try these next time. My biggest issue is the weird back/leg spazzing but stretching before bed has been helping a lot but i did get elbow pain for about two weeks too at the very beginning. I think that was just being too eager and not locking down form.
>>
>>77114371
These are the core of my routine as well. It’s not because I think they are optimal lifts, maybe they are or maybe they aren’t, I simply do them because they are fun!

For me it's
>OHP
>barbell row
>flat bb bench
>highbar squat
>weighted chins
>RDL

Based weighted chin-up enjoyer
Great alternative to curls
>>
>>77114368
I like BSSs, but they gas the shit out of me. I can't even finish my leg day after

>>77114819

>>
>>77114611
Its not impressive. I have never lifted weights in my life.

I prefer

>dips
>chinups
>high pull
>push press
>box squat
>rack pull

I'm doing kettlebells these days. The bored mans compounds.

Wrong my list guys. Sure u need more volume but I think that works in its favor. Js rotate variation to avoid over use.

Also the 6 main lifts are best done with a 5x5 i think. Bench gets me particularly sore and it saves your joints if you going high volume with your lifts
Obv don't do 5x5 deads, instead do 1x5 deadlifts, 5x5 rdl or 5x3 power cleans.
Do your power cleans, anon.

But BSS hurt my knees

Extremely accurate

>chooses to do a makeshift belt squat instead

So when did deadlifts and squats become lame to the cool kids in the gym?

Deadlifts are amazing. Do them. Your exercise select is good. Probably you should include weighed pull-ups, arm/delt isolation
>>
>>77114588
>exercise A is extremely dangerous to your low back
>exercise B is identical except you stop the rep and reverse direction in the most dangerous position for your low back
>B is therefore much safer
>>
>>77117007
Both are great
>>
>>77116142
Barbell flat bench is gay. DB are better for gains.
>inb4 whats your bench
3pl8 and i get better results from DB as I get older, they have a much wider range of motion.
>>
>>77116441
deadlifts were always a cryptohomo choice of lift. Squats are golden though
>>
>>77118335
Too each their own i guess. I find bench press feels more chuddy and I like to larp like im a 5x5 chud purist. Kinda like ripptoe and blaha
>>
>>77114368
Agree but add in weighted chin-ups too
Super underrated
>>
picrel plus
>Rows
>Lateral raises
>Facepulls
>Arm isolations (preferably dips and some type of behind the shoulder curl)

is all you need to look better than 99 percent of /fit/
>>
>>77119507
Just gotta lift every week to look better than /fit/
>>
>>77116149
Is that a good physique built by 5x5s?>>77116149
>>
>>77114660
My deadlift increased without doing them for 3 years, and I skipped all the awkward feeling lower back - I think the combo of arm, torso, leg length just makes them not for me. People who do them often don't have a clue how much lower core strength you need to do them safely either - it takes years.
What I think replaced it: inverted hangs and pullups, windshield wipers, front lever progressions; leg press, hack squat, calf extension.
I'd say you get better all round physicality dipping into these instead of grinding away at deadlifts. I do a few other exercises but I'd say these sub deadlift.
>>
>>77114368
I've started doing behind the neck presses, are they a good exercise? I'm currently using baby weights and high reps though because I'm pretty weak and I'm scared of injury
>>
>>77119618
BTN Presses are fine - target the side delts a bit more which some people like
As long as they feel good, go for it
>>
>>77119521
Every other week
Most of fit is obese
>>
>>77114368
Overhead press is pretty useless desu. Only hits front delts and is hard on your lower back if you get strong enough. Just do upright rows or side laterals instead.

wtf is include bench good for? You're already doing overhead
>>
>>77120971
Uh not OP but the chest? It's not like incline bench just hits the front delts
>>
>>77120973
i almost exclusively decline bench as i fucking hate flat and incline is like almost the same as OHP...
Just got to two plates decline but can only 1+35 flat i find decline so much easier to isolate pec

I thought about it. You are gay. Do lowbar back squat at full depth and stop being such a phenomenal phaggot. Bitch. (The movements you listed are good but you're still gay)
