The worst thing about Italy for me was the drivers.
The further south you go the more unhinged they get, honking for any reason they can think of and refusing to slow down for anyone or thing.
Hopped off a bus stop and a car sped through the right hand gap between where the bus had parked and where passengers were walking off honking like we were the ones in the way.
L*bshits will post one random specific spot in Italy and say
>omg this is how all of Italy is, America sucks and is so car dependent, why isn't all of America one big tourist destination like this tiny street in Florence
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

install strava and check out what circuits it shows in your area. if you get premium you can check out other people's routes and find one that suits.

I'm in Milan and they're fucking batshit here too. They will speed up if they're a hundred feet away to try to cut me off if they see me crossing. They drive like fucking toddlers. One even turned around to cut me off so I chased him down to where I saw him park and checked him. It seems like they target pedestrians and joggers for sport.

Also, the streets are full of trash and shit, even in the north. The north is polluted and sometimes it's hard to breathe. My pace goes to shit sometimes because of the air quality.

Many are saying this. Give me a qrd: how worth it is it? I'm usually OK finding my own routes, but Milan drivers are so schizo that I need to find somewhere not too far from where I live where I can actually run unimpeded for long stretches.

Italians except Northern Italians (who are basically Austrians) are shitskins and such is their behavior.

All as expected

Hate to hear its like that in Milan also.
Not that anon but strava does seem like a decent option or just give up and do treadmills on the regular and make occasional daytrips to the countryside for trail runs and whatnot.
/trv/ might have some decent suggestions as well.

Unironically, start cycling instead. The Italian has a deep respect for bicycles, particularly Colnagos and Bianchis. It’s part of their national heritage. They have almost none for pedestrians or runners.

I still don't trust Italian drivers to not run me over if I cycle on the road. I actually don't see that many cyclists in Milan for whatever reason. A lot of mopeds and motorcycles. But yeah, if you have any tips for cycling specifically in Italy, I'm all ears.

From an exercise/general /fit/ness viewpoint, I think running is still king. Just got back from a quick 10 km. Going to try one of the parks tomorrow.

>tfw be northern Italian descending Guinea living in Miami all life
>hate it hear, all these brown assholes
>hate the traffic especially
>want to move to Italy assimilate do it right not be an obnoxious American
>open this thread and see multiple anons claiming it’s no different traffic describe exactly what I deal with daily from latinX’s (using that as a slur), Haitians, and elderly and normal people who are otherwise normal but have lost their patience form dealing with the same crap so drive like assholes anyways

So I guess I'm gonna run through the kids' basketball game while dodging cars driving and parking on the sidewalk?

Find and piss off a pack of feral niggers from Africa that they have milling about there.

Just got back from a cool weekend 15k in Indro Montanelli. The whole country seems to operate on a hivemind to block people trying to run or stay fit. People unleash their fucking kids and dogs in front of you at the last minute, cars again cutting me off, parking to block entrances, etc. I feel like the whole country is literally gangstalking anyone trying to exercise.

Overall 6/10 experience

Most Italian cities are built on or near a water source - usually ocean or river.

Find nearest river,
Run along it.

Not Milan. There is the Naviglio, which is an artificial canal, but it is flooded with tourists and shitskins. The closest thing to what you're talking about is Parco Lambro (meh) and the Idroscalo (a former 2.5 km-long seaplane runway, which is as based as it sounds but a pain in the ass to get to, so if you're running ~15k on weekend runs like I do it takes about 3 hours overall to get there, do the run and come back).

best part of Italy is the food. worst part is the Italians.

Finding this out. They act like tribal shitskins at the first opportunity that they feel like they're justified in acting out. Italians from the far north, i.e. ethnic Austrians, are tolerable, but even they start to unlock their inner shitskin if they live long enough below the line from, say Lake Cuomo to the Dolomites.

Is there really no countryside in Italy with miles and miles of public pathways to walk on like here in bongland? I just assumed every western European country had something similar, I love my daily walk down by the river, plus there's hardly any browns to ruin my mood

We have SIDEWALKS and bike paths everywhere actually

I did a tour from Nice to Naples a couple years ago. The drivers were extremely respectful and we never had a single issue. In the US, I’m getting cut off or almost sideswiped daily. I really do think that euros just look out for cyclists more than drivers here. That said, in the cities it was fucking pandemonium. You couldn’t possibly get a decent workout in on a bike in Genoa or Naples. The traffic patterns are completely fucked. Realistically, if you actually in Milan and not on the outskirts of it, you’re going to have to at least get out of the city center or find some quiet loop and just put the miles in to do it.
