What's the point of push ups and crunches? I thought they would at least include pull ups but that's not the case. Push ups are useless and crunches damage your spine.

>Push ups are useless
I mean, I get why you'd think that because this place is obsessed with lifting, and you won't get shredded with push ups, but they certainly aren't "useless".

I was checking the minimal requirements and they are just tragic desu. 50 push ups, crunches (lmao). Dips, pull ups or even muscle ups, and hanging leg raises are far superior than these exercises. I suppose the current gen z is full negative T skinny fat subhumans so they changed the standards accordingly.

being a soldier is about endurance much more than strength. The 115 pound vietnamese rice farmer who can live on bugs and mold for years is literally the perfect soldier.

Running for endurance is more important than meme crunches and push ups.

Because believe it or not there are people pathetic enough to not be able to do pushups and sit-ups and that’s who they’re trying to weed out. It’s a low bar on purpose, but it’s also a bar.

I did 3 years in the infantry. Probably did a million push ups.
You hit a plateau in the number of reps you can do in about a month or 2.
3 years of pushups for PT every day and literally nobody ever got better at it or looked any different.
