Hi Anons. Can someone please review my build and maybe suggest some changes? I’m in UK and my budget is £3000 (about $4100?). I spend more time in DAWs than gaming, but I would like to get back into it a little, but at 1440p max. I upgrade my PC about once every decade, so that's that. My PC for it's entire 10 month life has consistently restarted itself twice a month. Once near thr beginning of the month within the first 5 days, then again within the last 5 days of the month. My 5070 ti has been a total nightmare for me since I bought it in the fall last year just before the prices went crazy. So many weird bugs just on the desktop that would come and go from driver version to driver version + the unexplainable hard driver crashes that keep happening around once a week out of nowhere when I'm 6 hours into playing a game. I've DDUed and installed the latest release everytime a new one comes out hoping one of these times it'll all just go away but it seems it never will. Even tried formatting my drive and reinstalling windows fresh once and no change. I've owned nothing but nVidia cards since 2007 when I built my first PC with an 8800 GTX to play Crysis and F.E.A.R. so it's been super disappointing to experience such a terrible decline in their software quality, DLSS is an amazing exclusive feature which GeForce has always been really great at but without basic driver stability which they seem to have slipped on since the 50 series released last year it's worthless.

Jensen just broke into my house and forced me at gunpoint to buy not one, but two 5090s

Your B660 Prime board has plenty of VRM to run a stock 14600K.
If you're concerned, you just have to set a lower maximum power limit for the CPU
Rust and other games will not constantly draw 180W of power.
Get the updated BIOS and buy the cheapest 14600/K or 13600/K.

Even at capped 60 fps it still makes noise and at 240 fps it's unbearable.

So, it would seem I'm just fucking retarded, but I've gone through three PSUs trying to upgrade my old rig, and am close to just giving up and looking at pre-builds to at least get a new part list.

I have, at present a 500w, non-modular PSU installed. Computer boots up perfectly fine with it installed.
I attempted to install 2 different Corsair 750e's, and a 850e modular PSU. With all three of them, it turns the fans on for a couple seconds, clicks off, and keeps cycling until interrupted.

Returning the 500w and it works fine again.
Tried breadboarding down to just the CPU/MoBo pins connected. 500w works, modulars don't.
Tried removing the CMOS and nothing.

Is it possible for a Mobo to be old enough to not know how to communicate with a modular PSU? Cause that's all I'm down to, and the internet is just claiming that its compatible.
The mobo in question is a Gigabyte H170-Gaming 3.

Admittedly, I should probably just fucking get a new MoBo anyway, but I bought $400~600 in cheap upgrades, and the PSU definitely needs to be upped from 500w.

Specs as is > Upgrades bought
H170-Gaming 3
Intel I3-6100 > Intel I7-7700k
AMD Radeon RX570 > RX6650
4x4 DDR4 > 2x16 DDR4 (Installed and working)

It seemed to run fine with the RX6650 installed, but as I'm retarded, it was pointed out that I possibly needed a more powerful PSU. And what I found largely agreed.
The whole thing has me rather depressed that once again, things I thought I knew how to do I am terrible at.

Hello everyone, im reaching out regarding a persistent stuttering and herrmal throling issue with my pc.

Eveything was stable before i updated my bios to new version. Previously , i managed to keep the cpu cool ad stable by undervolting via bios.however , since the upate , whenever there is a sudden explosion or hig-intensy effect in the games , the cpu temp spikes to 99-100c instntly, cusing the fps to drop by half and creating massive stutter.I Can lower the cpu temp sing pl1 pl2 limits, but it still doesnt remain stable . it can suddenl jump from 50 to 80c


what i tried o far:

1-shader caqtche set to unlimşted

2- power limits pl1-pl2

3-current lmit

4- microcode

5- -0.0800 valt

6- the IA CEP PROBLEM : i suspect ia cep becauseb its locked i cant change

I use picrel. around 8 years ago I got it for 80€ with a firehazard looking psu, 500gb hdd, q8400cpu and 8gb of ddr3. got insta upgraded and it served me ever since with a 1050ti as a multimedia pc connected to a giant TV.

Since then SFF got its own thing going on. You can go smaller than ever.
Use riser cable and the gpu can face outside of your case. downthrottle 10% and I bet even a 5090 will do fine in a specialist case.

Plus 30fps is still a good fps, lots of emulated games are locked at 30fps and are still fun.
BUT if you are waiting, you will need to wait around 2 years before the ram prices reach rock bottom (the 12400 will last it, unless you are autistic about 120fps).
Also, insert gsync pulsar autism here, which you will not buy because it's a $700 1440p IPS monitor, but it's neat if you watch a good video about it.

Yo /pcbg/, I got a 14600K recently and while my computer's thankfully running, I'm also noticing that spicy bitch is just chilling at 100c when the computer's idle or when I'm doing some basic internet browsing. I haven't had too much time to fuck around with it because of work so I'll ask here.

What kinda settings should I mess around with in the BIOS to help resolve it? I've set lite load to Mode 1 for right now and I already have the BIOS update for 13th/14th gen. It seems like the BIOS update changed a lot of shit and by default it made my 14600K set to Mode 18 for some reason, which was just insane.

This is on an MSI B660 motherboard, so any help would be appreciated. I have a feeling it's definitely a BIOS setting I need to adjust to help calm this thing down.
