they allow for target focus shooting, look at target and shoot target, instead of aligning sights with the target.
obviously at closer distances you shouldn't be aiming that much if the target is coming right at you, but for more precise shots and for follow up shots it's a world of difference

It really depends on your level of handgun experience. If you can keep both eyes open, focus on the target, and shoot off a bright front sight, they're basically the same thing. Getting good with a red dot sight requires you to get good enough off the draw that your iron sights are all lined up automatically without thinking, and if you can do that, you're already better than most shooters.

I was going to send this to my friends shop for an optics cut in a few weeks. I still will eventually, but I kinda want to get a 9mm P22X first.

> if you see red, and red is on top of target
You can use the front sight to replicate that but it’s not as effective.
After trying to quick shoot the bulldog I noticed my accuracy is about as good if I just grip right and punch to the target, holding the front sight on them as if I try to line up front and rear in a slapdash way.
Like some type of combat hold assisted point shooting.
My understanding is a red dot would basically do the same but better.
Which is why I finally gave in and want one for competition use.

Dumb faggot always tries to turn comfy threads about handguns into police shooting /pol/ slop threads. He only has one single handgun (Glock 17) that he shoots like ass, and he consistently says dots are bad (because he's poor and ignorant). He derails threads on a nonstop basis and legitimately needs to die. He drove away most regular posters and turned this general into a shithole /pol/lite where he tries so hard to insert himself as the main character. I legitimately hope he fucking dies today. Not even a boomer, but does anyone else just dislike polymer frame handguns? I'm not even concerned about the frame melting or some gay durability shit like that. I get that they're lighter and shit, but why do they all have to have stippling that feels like fucking sandpaper eating away my hand? My hands crave the weight and feel of the metal.

Steel guns just feel right to me, and I'm willing to wear a sturdy leather belt to carry steel guns concealed (I've been carrying a Model 10 OWB lately). I feel like I need to have at least one polymer framed gun in my collection to say I have one, but steel keeps calling me, especially seeing the inexpensive police trade in guns that keep hitting the market.

You don't have to cram the optic that far rearward, it has plenty of eye relief. Also, it's best to have a QD mount for the backup sights. I hope that isn't a muzzle brake because those make 10.3" barrels and shooting indoors worse. You already have a sling for your AR-15, I trust

I noticed that when I pull the trigger all the way back, after the trigger breaks and begins to "overtravel," the safety lever wobbles up and down. See picrel for a shitty diagram.
This doesn't happen with my full size USP - any ideas what could be causing it or how to fix it?

He’s posted here before, I don’t think he has an advanced CNC set up so it takes him a lot of time to make them. He’s also the guy doing the FRT for the 92
Blackbeard customs makes a similar comp but made of steel instead of aluminum, it probably doesn’t do much in way of compensation but adds a nice amount of weight to the front. Both comps are based off the SGS compensator or something from a long time ago, which a guy on the Beretta forums made an improved clone of called Ric comp or something like that.
>>
>>64906022
Good for hunting as the dot sight picture is obviously better than irons, you could just go full out with a scope/magnification,
I didn’t practice enough and also didn’t have a holster that fit the dot so I dismissed it for carrying since I had no BUIS and the dot mount is tall.
>>
>>64904892
That sounds like something was either disabled or removed/ modified, so I’d definitely do a full tear down of the lower.

>>
>>

>That sounds like something was either disabled or removed/ modified, so I’d definitely do a full tear down of the lower.
I should add that it did this when I bought it, then I tore it down, cleaned everything inside, and reassembled, and it's still doing it. When the trigger overtravels the lever wobbles slightly but noticeably - i.e. nowhere near enough to engage the safety or decock. The arrows I drew in the pic are slightly exaggerated.
Maybe the issue is that the trigger just has too much overtravel from heavy use.. Is there a way to limit overtravel that doesn't involve adding a screw to the trigger shoe? I like the trigger shoe the way that it is - slightly serrated and with no hole for a screw.

I'm picking up my Glock 19.6 tomorrow. It's my first owned Glock. Not the first time I've shot a G19.6 and not my first handgun either. Here's my question:
>Can I get by with a G19.6 as my CCW with ONLY flashlight + laser?
I want to run iron sights (maybe upgraded) and a targeting laser + light as my aim system. Light and laser combo is an O-Light Baldr Mini. Yes, I know
>O-Light
>Why not an optic?
My first gun and other handgun is a Bodyguard 2.0. I put maybe 2,500 rounds on that thing with optics at all, so I learned to love my iron sights. I got real good with that gun, not gonna lie. But, I've never used a targeting laser + flashlight combo before either, as my BG 2.0 would not accept them.
I'm excited to see if the green targeting laser helps me become even more accurate.
Also, I got a holster coming for my gun + light and a cutout for future optics. But I dunno, I really do wanna get by with my irons.
Pic is similar to what I'd like to run on the .6

Skip the laser, just get a flashlight with a high candela. You don't need a red dot for most self defense distances but it sure does make that 0.01% you need to take a longer aimed shot a lot easier especially if you don't shoot past 30-40 feet often with your irons only pistol.

>M9 vs 92FS
I hear the 92FS discussed a lot more than the M9, but from what I can tell current productions are basically the same guns, just different roll marks. I can get a new M9 today for under $500. Is it worth it? Would I be missing out from the in-group circle jerk (I don't even know where to buy Japanese panty magazines)? I like the 92FS Inox, sure, but it cost like $700-800. Is a palette swap really worth $200-300 more, plus another $200 to replace all the small parts with even more silver to achieve "ghost" statys? That makes the end state Inox basically double the price of a new M9.
For this gun, I don't give a shit about rails, optic, conceal carry, or LTT tramp stamps, etc. I am just interested in the classic gun.

>Why do you want it in the first place?
It's a fun gun to shoot. I shot my buddies a few times, and the recoil was light due to so little slide, it fits my hands nicely, and he made his own sear spring that made the trigger very light and crisp and he could do the same for me if I had one. I also like John Woo movies, and if I had one, I could fuck around with it at my desk during meetings like I'm Chow Yun-Fat.
I have competition guns, CCWs, L33T tactical operator shit, memes calibers, 2011, etc. Point is I just want it to shoot for fun.

Inox is in the name: it will be more forgiving of finger oils and won’t rust as easy if you don’t keep the slide/frame oiler. It’s not just an aesthetic thing, though that’s a huge draw for me.
You won’t ever have to worry about a flaking finish. I’ve never had a beretta long enough to report any issues on their other finishes so it’s really just a preference.

FBI standards, this was before they changed the shooting course to accommodate women and minorities

I recently bought a 92x compact which is my favorite gun, I wish I had bought it sooner. My other handguns are a Ruger Max-9 and a PSA Dagger. Do you guys think the Max-9 and Dagger are worth keeping around? I don't think I'll be taking them to the range or anything instead of the 92x. I was thinking of just selling them both.

let me put this into incel terms so you understand better. You can trust me cause I work with mentally impaired individuals.
>human being have 50 HP
>9mm bullet do 30 damage
>45 and 40 bullet do 35 damage
>both require 2 hits to defeat a human enemy
>9mm bullet is cheaper, lighter, has better follow-up shots, and offers a higher capacity.
it's a simple matter of money.

I own both an M9 and 92FS inox.
I would prefer the Inox because it's a prettier gun and they both function the same way.
I think the only differences are that my Inox is Italian while the M9 is made in Tenneessee and they have different kinds of sights.

USPSA is an objectively good sport, but the downside of its widespread popularity is every new or bad shooter thinks they need to work on speed. If you can't print good groups on command, speed isn't going to help you lmao.

Ackchyually, the FBI replaced 10x25 with .40 S&W to accommodate women. The eventual adoption of 9x19 was a cost saving measure that didn't affect terminal performance and increased capacity

>get a nice holster and mag pouches, gonna try to start doing more practical shit, maybe shoot a match someday
>start dry firing said practical shit
>dislike the whole process and get bored with it
>go back to autistically shooting groups at 25 yards and dry firing with hard front sight focus and getting little dopamine hits when the sights don't move a single Planck's length when I pull the trigger

Run and gun shit is hectic and stressful. I only do it out of necessity. What I really enjoy is plinking. Getting ever closer to being able to consistently hit a dime at 10 meters with my .22. Drawing circles around the bullseye, trying to make smiley faces and stuff, just chilling.

I really like it a lot, especially how easy it is to fucking rack the thing. I had not trouble after many hours and hundreds of rounds in the BG. This one out of the case is like a dream.

>Run and gun shit is hectic and stressful
That's my thought. I guess the rebuttal would be "well, gunfights are hectic and stressful" but I'm not convinced USPSA prepares someone for a gunfight. I don't think anything can.

I don’t shoot with them or take them through too many bumps since collectible

Is the Bodyguard 2.0 small enough for front-pocket carry, or do I need to go even smaller? I've carried larger 9x19 pistols on my 5 o'clock for many years now and I want to switch to something that will allow me to tuck my shirt in.

I don’t shoot Norma anymore. They’re now on my shit list. S&B/fiocchi is cheaper anyways.
Also, post your gun, Arab spammer.

Beretta might be moving away from that Beretta RDO optic cut so they're clearing out stock.
Beretta's new LTT collaboration the LTT Elite II uses Langdon's optic cut from the Beretta factory, ie instead of langdon cutting it Beretta now tooled up to do Langdon cuts meaning that they might just adopt their optic cut. They even made a iron sight cover plate for the LTT Elite II so it's likely the new optic cut.

It's a bit tall and long, but because it's so slim it will still work. Personally I wish it were a bit closer in height and length to my Kahr 380 which is perfect pocket size. Pic related, comparing it to a hellcat which is the largest gun I have pocket carried, but only fits in pants with large pockets.
>>
Thinking about doing my first uspsa match. Is it really boring having to sit around for hours and only shooting for a few minutes? And also there's no maximum width and barrel length for uspsa right? I don't care about which division I get put into.

Thanks. Do you have any tips for pocket carry, holster recommendations or anything? I've never tried it before, I want to make sure it's done safely.
I'm looking at carrying in my front right pocket. Currently carry a few micro-sized tools in that pocket that I use frequently at work, which I'll have to figure out some way to move to the back left.

What I do is probably not the best, I just know what works because pocket carry is my favorite carry and I usually wear light clothing. I pocket carry my Kahr or BG2.0 in a leatherette phone or PDA sleeve that I found at a thrift store, it has a built in rectangle of plastic for protecting a screen so in my pocket it looks like a phone, even with a gun in it. I never carry anything else in my pocket with the gun. I've used neoprene and leather holsters and my biggest issue with them is that they're bulky and do nothing to hide up the outline of the gun. The only type I'd buy if I got a dedicated holster would be something like this.
Practice your draw and get yourself a dorky little belt pouch or something for your tools. That's what I'd do.

Gun has to fit into a class, I think if it doesn’t conform to any of more limited classes they’ll just stick you in Open class.
USPSA is bad if you want to shoot as you can go to a range to do that. It’s good if you want to prove your skills in a more dynamic stressful environment. It’s stressful environment because you’re
>timed
>watched by other people
>compared to other people
>you only have one run per stage

Where do you get your PPK grips? I replaced my PPK with a Glock 43 for summer carry, but the PPK is still awesome and OEM black grips are basically unobtanium

Well, my thought process was this:
1. 9mm over 380
2. Slide stop
3. Night sights
4. Same size (big reason)
5. WML
6. Holster availability
7. The mags can take one more round with the same size footprint with aftermarket floorplates.
I think the PPK is more mechanically accurate, and recoils slightly better than the G43, but I have to say the glock 43 is a very complete gun as a deep/summer carry.

I think the lines on most 1911s is awful. Only a few manufacturers get them right and usually only certain models. The bushing, the recoil spring plug, the sights, the multiple hatching patterns like the slide, the grip on the frame and the grips themselves, the tube for the plungers.
This does have some good features like no front serrations (some can look good though) and how the slide cut blends into the dust cover.

I have shot nothing but target .22s for the last few years and finally got my glock back.
I shot so badly with it today i hate myself. At 25 yards i got 14 out of 30 shots on the target.
Im not an amazing shooter by any means but im usually shooting high 250s low 260s with my model 41 so im kind of upset. It was all casual slow fire today so i should be able to hold an 8 ring easy.
Nothing to contribute to the thread just want to bitch to people who might understand.
