4.6 writes very differently from 4.5. It writes a lot (aside from refusals, which are very short) and it has a lot more focus on physical descriptions (annoyingly so and in a way that gets repetitive in ways reminiscent of old models, character laughs once therefore now character laughs every other message). But it does on its own bring up more details about Chrysalis in one of my cards where 4.5 tended to forget them due to them not being explicitly stated.

I'm still new to this RP and used only VN anchor, and I've tried mostly the Deepseek and Gemini families... I tried every possible prompt to get Twilight to communicate normally, but nothing worked. I even tried some other models, like Qwen, Nova, GLM and etc.
Gemini 3.1 is best of all that I tried when it comes to Twi, but still losses truck of prompts after some time.

It's easier in SillyTavern because you can give more instructions and such more easily than in the VN.
Also, if you already have that in the context, it will be harder to correct because the model will continue like this. If that's the case, export the story, change the "Robotic/SCIENCE!" parts, and reimport.
Both models you listed are quite bad with what you said. All current models are bad at that, but IMO Gemini is the worst.

This. Issue is the majority of normie retards associate intelligence with talking like a robot. If someone is intelligent, they MUST talk in all scientific terms, right? So when the masses get access to AI and have a 'smart' character, they figure the AI is more correct when the smart character is talking in scientific gibberish. So they all give good reviews/feedback for the fucking word salad, and bad reviews/feedback for actual real dialogue coming from the 'smart' character because they don't think it's smart. You really need to avoid calling a character intelligent or smart to avoid this -ism.

GLM-5 does a WAY better rainbow dash than Sonnet or even Opus, I've found. With most character cards it defaults to, basically Fluttershy with a little bit of edge. No real fight in her. If you tell her to be an asshole, though, really emphasize it, and make it repeat it back to you and shit, it does a damn good job. She called me a faggot like twenty times, got a good laugh out of me.

No. Gemini3.1 is god awful with "She X, Her X" spam. Even Gem3 doesn't do it as much, so I went around back other models and found surprisingly 4.1 is still alive and had a much better experience, I'd even take wrangling 2.5 over 3.1 by a mile since it and 4.1 had much more personality to the narration and dialogue even on the exact same preset so this is 100% a model issue.

But while messing with old models I never figured out what this is, and searching for it gives no results. Shows up more on gpt even after API is successful, it's not "overloaded" like 429 so what is it? Is it another filter layer? besides "I'm Sorry"

Hey VN anon I got a question. Is there a way to manually import a story recap? The source I use for Opus 4.6 seems to not like something about what the VN sends, but I can just copypaste the payload on SillyTavern and get the formatted .json that way.

I tried copypastying it into story.txt and importing, but the summary in game is still the old one

Sonnet is still the smarter of the bunch for longer rp's and complicated, html/formatted cards, but I like glm5 because of it's prose... So it's kinda a matter of what I'm in the mood for at the moment. Funnily enough, I feel like years ago when chatgpt was the smartest yet I'd use Claude because it has a more juicy prose, kinda funny/sad it's slowly following its steps.

Gemini 3.1 feels like it's more prone for repeating itself than Gemini 3.0, but it can write richer context instead of keeping to the core of a character. 3.0 still being my go to for now most of time.
Sonnet 4.6 is still looking and trying to be positive when it can, but definitely far less positivity pilled than 4.5. Writing is still not as good as Opus 4.5, barely a step forward in relation to that. Also had probably chinese influence seep through it when trying to invent an animal, "Yao Guai" for a dangerous Equestrian bear, which was unwelcome and yet it doubled down on it when trying to rename.
GLM 5, huh...I never tried those. What model is it to try it out?

As far as pure smarts go, Sonnet by a lot. I might prefer GLM 5 to it (not sure yet) but GLM sometimes gets confused who said what in situations with three+ active characters in the scene. Sometimes even with two, where it will have {{char}} say something only to gaslight me into believing that {{user}} said it. It's also worse than Sonnet with any kind of secret—Gemini was famously bad with this, and it got a little better, but GLM did not and it will not respect any secret info pretty much ever. Sonnet has been doing alright with that for a few versions now.
