Thought about Ponka lots, reminisced on the fact it was even more special because this is her birthday during the 15th anniversary year of the show, as well as the year of the pony AND her having won Miss /mlp/.

Her fear of abandonment and rejection, before her character development mostly imo, are the one thing where her optimism falters a bit. I personally always believed this was because of her upbringing on the rock farm, where she wasn't able to connect with her family at all on her desire for happiness and fun and was made to feel like a weird alien. Of course, others seeing her as too high energy probably didn't help her either, but by the time we see her in the show she always takes Rainbow's "wow you're annoying" comments in stride - it seems like she's more offput by them actually abandoning her rather than just thinking she's being too Pinkie. I always felt she had something instilled in her from her upbringing that she really might've just been weird for being herself.

Still, I always thought her hair went flat in Party of One simply because she was shot right back to her childhood loneliness despite leaving the rock farm behind. As someone who's also very optimistic and energetic, I always felt like the best way to avoid what you're saying, rather than being honest and open, was to just simply be someone who understands her, so she feels like she has someone who loves her unconditionally as much as she loves others the same way. Not someone who treats her as a puzzle to be solved or a nuisance, but someone who really actually gets her and wants to join in on her antics and not make her feel like she's ever being too much.

I keep having strange dreams about pinkie pie, she is like a deity goddess in my dreamscape, invoking everything that has ever made me happy over the years, from the beauty of nature to a simple guilty food pleasure, she is like the representation of 'joy of life' in a sense. In those trippy dreams, she becomes an expending fractal of a concept that made me happy and it's often 1 specific sense related. Taste => Food for the rest of the dream, she has 'chaos' magic often and transfigure into many variation of food I've loved by acquiring their shape will still having bits and piece coalescing in a recognizable form of herself. Another time was being a various amalgamation of lightning making music, she wasn't talking per say but able to express intent through musical queue that sounded like tesla coils. Floating into the air with her, rising with music was a delight. My favorite one is how she was a strange amalgamation of multiple lasers stretching to the horizon and finally, somehow, breaching into the sky and space to make me a bouquet of stars, it was romantic and wholesome. The most strange one was how she was able to convey to me 'The joy of sadness' , it was snip and tales of tragic stories I've read in stories I've found moving, while sad reading on the spot, made me found of it's poignancy. Also, booping pinkie pie noses that she transfigure into a book cover while semi crying in dream in consolation was a treat. I'm just rambling on and on but pinkie pie really is the incarnation of happyness in a character and I think my dreams wants to impress into that, all of it's variety and forms it can be.

Her cheeriness and shitposty attitude comes from a desire to have fun and be silly. Try and understand her playful attitude as her just acting like that to have fun, spread cheer, and ease tensions. She often plays the fool, whether it be her being silly or pretending to be clueless, just to have fun with arguments and ease things up for others. Ticket Master shows her not taking the fight for the ticket very seriously and just using it as an excuse to have fun and poke holes in how tense everyone else is about it, in my opinion.

Season 1 and 2 highlights this perfectly, but she loses that and just becomes more and more hard to argue that she's actually being smart about her shitposting later. Ultimately her big stressor is that she's clingy at the start and is worried she's pushing others away with her energy and that she's annoying; you likely already saw this in Episode 5. Ultimately being authentic is also too important for her to give up on herself though, which is where the stress comes from for her. She really does care for the happiness of those around her though and, despite having the least of any of the Mane 6 physically (girl lives in the attic of her employers, she doesn't even have her own house like the others lmao), she's absolutely the happiest.

Hope that helps you understand where she's coming from a bit more. She's just a big silly grown-up larping as a little kid because it brings more sunshine into her life to live like that.

Moominvalley is basically equestria, the vibe is exactly the same.
