>What is Open Pony? A model for Second Life that beats all other 3D pony models. Info here: https://www.equestriadaily.com/2022/05/a-showcase-of-amazing-and-completely.html
The place changed me so much that I now actually CRAVE french fries served in a tiny tin bucket. I think that would be so fucking neat. I am 100% contemplating making that happen in real life soon. I want that so bad, I don't know why.
>>43273815 I forgot to add to this post - what other days/times would this event work for you ponies? Once September hits my work schedule is consistently weekends but I want to try to continue this event past Summer.
>>43273820 Listening parties are so infrequent that it's not really a big deal The more recurring/structured ones, yeah, I do sometimes question why those aren't in the hangout. But more to the point, I'm just glad things are happening at all!
>>43273820 Shut the fuck up with this shit. It's neat when other parts of the sim are being utilised. I love it when parties are hosted in random places. I love it when ponies host stuff in places they've built. I love that mare hall is a music venue. I love that red has a movie theatre in his tower. I love when friends gather to some comfy house to watch something or whatever. There is nothing wrong with organising shit in your parcel, provided you're not making it some invite-only clique thing or whatever
>>43273834 The only problem, as I can see it, is that these parcels are totally cut off from communication so it makes the rest of the sim feel dead. If they had open chat relays, I doubt people would ever bring it up as a point
thanks to whatever popen said I was based last thread >>43273824 it kind of sucks if the bucket is too small, I do like the bottomless fries promo that was done at Red Robins before they went bankrupt (now it’s “The Varsity” that does it).
>>43273836 Honestly I feel like with two full sims now, the area is so big that I don't always like the chat relay anymore. Sometimes you have a few ponies sitting on the other fucking side of the sim talking about how they ordered a salad in waffle house at work today or some shit while you're sitting 400 meters away and the conversation is completely irrelevant to you. We have enough different places, and enough ponies gathering into small groups doing stuff together time to time, that blending everything into one conversation is not that useful anymore IMO.
In fact when there's movie night in the hangout, and the sim relay chat is just filled with ponies reacting to stuff on-screen, it makes global chat almost unusable for the duration if you're not sitting watching the movie yourself either; you've just got an out of context stream of random reactions constantly interleaved with any other conversation you might be trying to have. It's not any sort of major issue for hangout movie nights because they're kind of "official sim events", but I don't think it's necessary for anypony else's events in parcels to always enable the chat relay and flood global chat with reactions to a movie or music that nopony else on the sim can see or hear.
The last thread was really funny with the weird autistic retarded people who were making a scene and ruining everything by telling everyone about their paranoid fantasy that the librels might hypothetically ruin everything
>>43273825 Is it possible for them to be announced maybe 24 hours, even 12 hours in advance if it weren't too much trouble? Gives me a chance to move obligations around to attend, I often miss out on short notice.
>>43273855 This is an already age old discussion. At least during non prime hours, having a the relay active allows for others to participate in the ongoing conversation. It is not so much a question of how many are taking place at a time but if there is one in the first place.
As a fellow observer and occasional commenter, the way how it is is fine.
We bit by bit add parts to this pony (add a part and post the pic with the addition here) and the first Anon who presents a screenshot of a popen version of the result standing in Baltimare WINS (bonus points for showing up to the next party in it)
>>43274163 him looks like bat but isn't those are still the dragon wings lorewise, they considered full pony when setting up the spells, so hiding the wings completely in pony form, but he's kinda retarded (being my sona) so there's a chance he might forget he doesn't have them and jump off of something tall thinking he can glide to the ground to try avoiding alicorn oc accusations, the only form of pony magic he has is unicorn magic, through his dad's side, so his wings are a bit oversized to compensate, because they have to get him in the air via physics rather than magic (so he sucks at flying)
anyway, currently, he's now my only non fucked up stallion, because stallion polaris is from 2022, and sombra is covered in EP parts.... so, speaking of, where do you get the openpony sombra outfit from? I only have the one for the EP https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/King-Sombra-Mod-for-EP-Mero-Pony-Avatar/4269919
btw even if you don't give a shit about sombra it's worth buying because it comes with a goofy magic caster thing, that's what I use to summon the blue fire all the time but it does a bunch of other effects, and it's literally one dollar don't use the "shadow form" thing that comes with it though, thing has such a wide effect radius it's basically an anti-flashbang
>>43273961 Could try yeah! I've tried to make an announcement after a poster is done which is hard to predict, but I can make a non-poster announcement earlier in the week too if that sounds helpful.
apparently the mare's nest jannies are afraid to ban kakuma because they bought into his talk about him being a leet hacker whose best friends work at linden labs so they just put up with his bullshit daily because they're scared retards hey dumbasses, we banned him years ago in baltimare, and he could never do shit to us because he's nothing but an autistic nigger. reminder kakuma got doxxed because he posted pictures of his house in a public discord and you could see his license plates and when his address got posted online he tried to claim it was a 'decoy house' and that he 'owns a dozen homes to trick people' mare's nest mods must be the dumbest idiots in second life to think this retard could do anything to their sim
>>43274301 that's so funny you also have a list of his accounts like I do. multiple people hate this guy so much that they've created lists of his accounts to get rid of him.
Aside from a particular parcel a few popens were bvanned in by some asshole that hates ponies, the drive wen't very well. Good drive with a rideable flying bathtub drone as the prize. Very worth it.
>>43274610 I dont think its bad to express yourself but this might not be the right target audience. people are comparing it to furrys because its falling into the same pitfalls as furry designs
>>43274737 >same pitfalls as furry designs by being fluffy or by having markings? or both? I also really like that within the same second as your post somepony also wants to fuck it
>>43274737 like, I'm just genuinely curious what you even mean by this if I remove fluff and tone down markings, is it suddenly more attractive even if you're not into quadruple amputees? or is it the color, the mane, the accessories? please explain better what you mean by furry pitfalls design-wise also >right target audience I will be 100 percent honest, there is no intended target audience for my post, I created something silly on a whim that some ponies expressed being into so I then also created a funny sus post to rocket into thread for fun I don't really care if you don't like it, I just wanna know the why and have a better explanation of what you said because it does absolutely nothing the way you have worded it
>>43274752 oh I just meant like, furry stuff tends to be in your face in a lot of ways. a lot of markings and random bits and fluff, a lot of bold colors, niche fetishes that are very front and center, and kinda of a "do u want to fuk me? id fuk me" attitude that is really offputting and creepy if you're not into it and again im not saying it shouldnt exist, you should do you, just that this stuff is divisive and causes fighting/disagreement because it really comes down to whether you find it hot or disgusting. its ok that you dont care if I like it, but I hope that helps you understand
>>43274762 >a lot of markings and random bits and fluff I don't actually have a lot of things going on, which I guess might be exacerbated because the pony is missing 40% of its body >bold colors is an interesting one because I see a lot more shade thrown at ponies that look too naturally colored because that in itself is unnatural for ponies >niche fetishes... and a kinda "do u want to fuk me? id fuk me" attitude I literally only said "would you, anon?" because it's funny and if you read anything into it beyond that that's not really my problem as far as niche fetishes go, amputee isn't even that bad/disgusting? it's also not a fetish I even have, funny enough, but stemmed from a silly conversation which led into me making a little nugget limb horse, and inadvertently some ponies were into it >divisive and causes fighting now this I was unaware of, because who's out here fighting seriously about whether or not a quad amputee nugget horse is fuckable or not (the answer is she is, but whether or not you fuck her yourself is debatable)
buuut, yes, I appreciate your explanation and understand what you were getting at now worry not, nugget pony will not make frequent thread appearances, at least not without warning
>>43274768 maybe. We'd have to talk at least first.
>>43274855 no they were the only pony with a six letter name on sim that i could find on sim excluding hattsy whos name i just realised has also has six letters in their name after posting
what's the funniest object name you've seen attached to another pony? either one made on purpose as an easter egg, or one that was funny because the owner didn't realize others could see it.
>>43275304 It's usual random profanities especially when they were initially just testing things but in the end kept the object attached with that name lol
>>43276010 I don't actually save photos a lot in general I do post photos quite a lot tho I love LOVE candids and action shots where that moment is never there again after the shot, juuuust like real life
>>43276010 >do you save photos from the thread? Yes especially if it's of my friends and me. Memories. >do you ever post photos? Sometimes >do you prefer candid photos or carefully planned photos? Both equally. I like the current balance of mostly candid photos with the occasional well planned one.
>>43276010 >do you save photos from the thread? Pretty often >do you ever post photos? VERY often >do you prefer candid photos or carefully planned photos? That's a tough one. Generally I probably enjoy funny candid photos a bit more but there are so many occasions when planned photos turned out so great that I think I like them equally.
Yesterday I was sleep deprived again and when a pony showed up and its snout pierced through the wall of the building (nothing more, it was just the snout visible poking through the wall) without saying anything it made me laugh for what felt like half a minute
>>43276467 makes the sim feel deader, which is what matters I don't give a shit about being personally clued in to your business, so you can get over yourself
>>43276473 The sim doesn't need to feel like a party every second. Why does there need to be constant activity? Bawwing dead sim and forcing people to enjoy their free time how you want is just going to make it deader.
>>43276475 It isn't about the sim "feeling like a party", but about the place feeling inhabited at all. This is why the chat relay was made in the first place, and why the rule about gatherings was put into the covenant; it was a concern from the very start.
>>43276010 >do you save photos from the thread? Yep >do you ever post photos? Yep >do you prefer candid photos or carefully planned photos? A mix of the two is perfect
>>43276490 you're complaining about a handful of ponies going away for a few hours a week i think maybe the real problem here is that you have nothing going on in your life and i'm sorry to inform you that the rest of us dont exist purely for your entertainment

Found in the HMART >dicksword server >https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/CJs-Open-Pony-Pride-BOM-Markings/27884476 Why the fuck does the "pony" demoing them look EXACTLY like you would expect?
>>43276490 >This is why the chat relay was made in the first place no it was made because the hangout expanded from a small parcel to almost an entire sim at one point even the skybox hangout above proto-baltimare had chat relays already because it was bigger than the default chat range, and then when we moved down to the sim proper it just became massively annoying
there's a reason why it had features to be opt-in for parcels and easily toggleable by parcel owners right from the start, it was just meant to bring the hangout together and anyone who wanted ponies sitting at their parcel to also participate in the hangout, not to be an enforced mandatory sim-wide chat
Yeah as one of the ponies that worked on the chat relay: the whole reason it was made was that the hangout had multiple parcels and no other chat relay could work around that. Doing events in private parcels is fine. >>43273845 This is doable but it'd have the same limitations other low li chat relays have. So that means limited range and it'll be way easier to flood it and cause it to drop messages because SL has a hard limit of 40 messages per object per second or something like that. That's why the regular chat relay has a slow mode when there's too much chat spam, it's just that 40 messages per second to one specific user is a lot more than 40 messages to everyone in range.
>>43276864 >not to be an enforced mandatory sim-wide chat Yeah, that's not what I meant to imply, sorry. What I meant was that the relay was made to keep activity visible, so being dismissive about activity doesn't hold water when it's always been a concern.
>>43276885 >Doing events in private parcels is fine. We've had rules in the covenant since the start about this, so no, they are not always fine and have been ruled against in the past. But that's not going to happen here. People have noted the dips in activity, so the goal in bringing up >>43273836 was to see if there was anything doable or advisable. It seems like the leaning is that things are pretty much fine as they are, at least for those who still read the thread.
>>43276913 >What I meant was that the relay was made to keep activity visible I truly believe that hearing people react to something that they're watching or listening on the other side of the fucking sim is not useful activity in any way.
>>43276916 I pretty much ignore anything that isnt right next to me. But the relay lets you know if something is happening somewhere, and then you can go there if you want to.
>>43276922 This, it's useful for sparking involvement in things that are going on. You might be aware that someone is watching <movie you've heard of but were never interested in>, but that's not as interesting as hearing ponies cheer and comment on specific things in that movie.
Also the normal talking range is so fucking short, it's retarded that people could be talking at the campfire and because I'm doing a puzzle I can't hear them. I mean, yeah, I guess it's realistic, sure...
(This message is mostly intended for anons unaware.)
ChatRelay already has a feature that allows parcel/home owners to relay chat to other sections of the sim instead of setting it to private. The only problem is in order for that to work correctly, SL's built-in Hide Avatar feature must be turned off. It can't function with it on.
But yeah we already have local chat and IMs. And if someone really wants to keep things in a small group, set chat messages to whisper (Shift+Enter). ChatRelay doesn't work on shout and whisper messages.
>>43276930 Look at it this way, too: If you're doing a puzzle that actually requires concentration, and other popens are doing a puzzle with you, do you want to hear other popens by the campfire randomly having a conversation about something else instead of the participants of the puzzle talking with you? Sometimes maybe you want that, sometimes maybe not. At least with ChatRelay you can distinguish who is nearby because the far away chat messages are gonna be in a different color other than white.
>>43276992 >ChatRelay doesn't work on shout and whisper messages. It does work on shout because there's no way to detect whether a message is a whisper, shout or regular chat. The way we avoid listening to whispers is by placing the chat listener just outside whisper range.
>>43276913 >We've had rules in the covenant since the start about this, so no, they are not always fine the official ruling from jannies is that private parcel gatherings are fine so long as everyone's invited. so trouble is only to be had when, say, popen gravity leads to a gathering of more than 5 ponies in a parcel, and no event is being had and it's not an open invite
>>43276913 >>43277289 This rule was implemented as a safety nest to prevent the main active area to shift from the public campfire to a private parcel. If everyone is invited, and it is a like a one-time event, there no issue. Even if popen gravity ends up happening and you end up with 20 popens in a parcel with no event, there is no issue as long as it isn't a daily occurence.
I have neglected to pay on my rent before leaving for a trip.... I think it should be fine but I just got the email it's got less than a week so if it won't last till Saturday, could somepony help me out? if you reveal yourself I'll doodle you something t. soff
>>43278566 Change the alpha mode of the pupil face of your eyes to masked instead of blended. You can use the arrows below "edit linked" to just cycle through faces until you get to it. Mess with the mask cutoff until you find something that works, although just about any value between 50 and 200 should be fine.
>>43279013 it looks like it already is set the same way yours is, and I can't even seem to get to the other eye for some reason. if I swap to a different popen and back it'll fix it, it's just annoying...
>>43279404 I would if I could but to be perfectly honest with you I am exclusively interested in Ponyville and Baltimare. Maybe Cloudsdale sometimes. I simply don't care about the others especially when they almost always turn out to be shit.
>>43278632 >>43279404 There's more than you think, it's hard to list them all. Luna's has a portal to some, Canterlot has a billboard with more, and there's new ones popping up all the time. I started listing some out but realized there was a ton i was forgetting.
>>43279546 number 15, baltimare pub hoof chips. the last thing you want in your baltimare fish and chips are someone's hoof fungus. but according to this 4chan post, that might be exactly what you get.
Are there any plans to watch some soccer world cup matches in the hnagout? I'm not big of a soccer watcher but I do love watching stuff together with ponies
>>43279591 The secret is they're not actually a permanent feature, Bread just rezzed them on a whim and we never returned it, though we will at some point because that stuff is like 500 LI altogether That isn't even supposed to be a bakery; it was going to be a flower shop originally
>>43279583 I had mentioned that idea a few threads ago, but the only response was someone mentioning that having a (likely) illegal sports stream might make your ISP unhappy but what do I know.
>>43279610 There's a list of things planned for those, some more tentative than others. Right now there are about three other WIP Balti projects I want to finish before tackling that area, and ideas for it will no doubt bounce and shift during that time.
>>43279583 >>43279609 That said, you can try. Popens tend to congregate, and I know I would watch with popens whenever possible because I am a world cup sicko.
>>43279609 >might make your ISP unhappy First time I hear something like that. I know you can get stinky mail when you download shit but didn't know about that happening with sports ball streams
>>43279602 I remember witnessing an incredibly tense standoff situation when the assault bread arrived. The atmosphere was electric! You could smell the ozone!
>>43279477 >>43279485 >>43279486 Trot Springs HSH Crystal Pony (was the HSH sim, moved, has a layer for pony and layer for the HSH stuff) Bridle Bay (WIP, was the north Hoofstone sim before it died)
There's also that Cyberpony place and one called Equestria from the former owner of WHU
