I was roleplaying that I still play this game, I was looking into the idea of making a new Brawl deck with a Commander from the new set, and I saw there are 72 different TMNT Commanders. My god.

If you put a gun to my head and say I have to make a new Brawl deck with a TMNT commander... my first choice is Splinter, Radical Rat, and my second choice is Mona Lisa, Science Geek (only because I think she cute).

I think I've bought maybe 5 or 6 boxes in 10 years playing Magic. Most of what I spent was just 40 or 50 dollars per week drafting. The most I ever spent on a single card was like 100$. Already there, brother. Been playing BG Infestation Madness for a while now, and thinking about building either mono W clerics or soldiers.

Anyone else feel like the mtg economy bubble will pop soon? We've already seen the second largest tcg (yugioh) experience this due to player resentment; mtg is also experiencing record high player resentment with every social page and content creator openly talking about how shit the game is right now. Numerous reports of tmnt pre release/draft being canceled at LGS's, mine are included in that. So many people openly using fake/proxy cards that LGS's cant turn them away. If you were using fakes in early 2000s you got effectively blackballed from the magic community...

I dunno, but for the first time in two decades of people saying "magic is dying!!!" This is the first time I've felt like thats true. I'm feeling really inclined to dump my reserve list/chase cards. If consumer confidence/player sentiment drops further I think the game will retract heavily. I dont think the game will ever truly "die" outright but I can forsee its popularity and ubiquitous nature fading, and the prices along with it ala ygo and so many sports cards lines.
